Thank You He said in response to her taking the cups from him Alright, I got you a hot chocolate, I didn't know if you got to actually enjoy yours from last night, I also got pancakes and french toast so you have which ever one you want... He took the coffee from her and took a drink. He cursed as it burned his mouth. Ugh. Hey guess what? This coffee is hot. He made a pouty face at her. He dropped down in the chair at the little table. He debated pulling out the necklace but now he was thinking it was lame and cheesey and all of a sudden wished he hadn't bought it. I talked to the Tow Truck guy this morning. He's going to pick up my key from the front desk and take the car to a mechanic up the road. So hopefully we should be able to go home soon..template by Sammy @ Adox 2.0 |

Becca giggled as Gem burned his mouth. It was such a Gem thing to do, but it was adorable so she wasn't going to complain about the cursing or the sillyness. Instead of making a smart comment, she leaned over to kiss him softly on the cheek before joining him at the table. "Sorry about the coffee. Maybe you should try it iced?" She teased lightly, taking the food out and sitting it on the table as he talked about the tow truck driver.
"So we're probably looking at another night or two here, right? I mean it could be worse, I was just hoping they'd already have some of it taken care of." Granted they hadn't exactly called anyone until this morning and they had passed out for most of the day before, but that was besides the point. Home meant answers and clothes that weren't walking advertisements for the place she had lived in her entire life.

Gem narrowed his eyes at her playfully. Oh you think that’s funny huh? He smiled when she gave him a kiss on the cheek. Meh I don’t really dig iced coffee except when it’s those glorified milkshakes. frappmocachocachino whatevers. He said making an obvious joke, being from Seattle he was very familiar with Starbucks.
He took another drink of his coffee tentatively and winced, even though the coffee itself had cooled the burn was now sensitive to any type of liquid running over it. Yeah if that, I won’t really know until the mechanic calls with an estimate. We just need to keep our fingers crossed that someone around here has experience with a rotary engine… That was the one downfall to his beautiful baby, the engine worked different from your standard car and you’d need to find someone who knew how to work on them, which could prove to be a pain, at least in a small town. Gem silently wished he had stuck with learning how to fix cars, they’d probably be out of here by now but like everything else he had given up and left the project unfinished. There was an old car still waiting to be fixed at his parent’s house.
He bit into a piece of bacon and reached into the bag, if he didn’t end up giving Becca the necklace it would just be a waste of money. I got you something. He dug the box out of the bag and slid it across the table toward her. I saw it and it reminded me of you because of the colors, and it’s made out of agate which is like a Gemini birthstone. He felt shy for one of the first times in his life If you don’t like it, it’s totally cool.

The blue colors reminded her of something she couldn't quite place, like a water fall or something. It was absolutely stunning, and it touched her that he had thought to buy it for her. "Gemini...thank you. It's beautiful." her fingers wrapped around the silver chain as she took it to put it on. The stone was cool against her skin, and something about it felt right. Just like they used to.
The thought jarred her for a second, but she wrote it off as the fact that they were so on and off that break ups came easy at sixteen. Maybe they had 'recently gotten back together or were fighting again. There was no way she could love this boy that much without them being together.
Shaking the thought away, Becca reached out to grab his hand, a bright smile lighting up her face. "You are the best. Just don't let it go to your head. The world may never recover. "

He felt relief when she said liked the necklace, because he felt really lame and cheesy. It's super cheesy. I'm sorry. He smiled when she touched his hand and he brought it up to his lips to kiss. Was there ever any doubt in your mind? He said in response to her comment about him being the best.
He dug his phone out of his pocket staring at the shattered screen. He wasn't sure he could even text on it if he wanted to, would the sensor even pick it up? He wouldn't be able to see the screen. Maybe he should text Dani, She was probably furious they usually talked at least once a day even if it was only an affectionate 'you're a loser. I miss you.' He wasn't looking forward to her chewing him out when he got back. She wouldn't be happy he had disappeared and she wouldn't be happy that he had been with Becca. Wait what? Why wouldn't Dani be happy he was with Becca? Maybe they just got back together. That must be it.
Gem looked at Becca out of the corner of his eye, for whatever reason he had this strange feeling, maybe something like nostalgia? He couldn't place it and he shook his head, and tossed the phone back on the table. I love you. with a small smile but he wasn't sure if he was telling her or hoping if he said it, it would chase the nagging sad feeling away.

Gem's phone made her think of her own, how it wasn't working and how Dani had called the day before. "I love you too babe, but you may want to text Dani or I'm not responsible for world war fifteen." Even in their good days dani tended to not be her biggest fan because of her past history with Gem. Something about being manipulative. It didn't matter that Gem did half of the breaking.
The bad feeling didn't go away though, and cuddling it out didn't seem to be working for them. Maybe it was time to actually say something. "Hey...have you gotten the weird feeling like something is wrong? Not like physically but, I don't know...like something is wrong with us? they had to be fighting or something. Maybe that was what caused the accident. She had a vague memory of yelling at him, but she couldn't remember if it was recently or in the past.

Yeah I'm going to try to in a bit. I'm not sure If I have a signal or not He had picked up the phone again and was turning it over and over in his hand. Gem looked up when she mentioned having a bad feeling, He thought he'd be relieved knowing that Becca was feeling it too that he wasn't alone but that just made it worse. There had to be something wrong if they were both having it. What had he done? He had tried to be the best boyfriend possible since the accident, even trying to keep the flirting to a minimum. He'd even laid around in the hotel room with Becca with the full intent of watching a movie, and if she'd asked him he would have stayed locked up there all day.
If we're being honest? Yeah. No I know what you mean. Maybe we were fighting? His thoughts lingered back to text messages that he had seen in his phone, the random numbers and all. What if they weren't even together? His stomach did a flip flop and he felt like he'd been punched in the chest. the thought of Becca not being his, hurt a lot. He didn't even want to suggest it out of fear of it being true.

They had to be fighting, or making up, or whatever stage they were at. It didn't matter, they were together. "If that's it, then I apologize for being mad at whatever you did. Now we can move forward, right? Maybe go on ahead and take that road trip we were on if the car gets done in time."Kissing Gem's shoulder, she leaned her head against it while she spoke. Her boyfriend was the one she was meant to be with.
But why was she always referring to him as her boyfriend, and never Gem? |

Yeah.. that must be it. Gem wasn't really sure he believed that, but it was about all he had right now. He didn't want to let Becca go through his phone out of fear that they were together and he was cheating on her but at the same time it was still odd, flirting was one thing but he didn't think he'd ever just hand out his number to random girls. Maybe someone had given it to them?
He managed to move his head so he could give her a soft kiss on the cheek.Well I'm sorry for whatever stupid thing I have inevitably done that has made you mad. and of course we can.. He moved his hand up to rest of her arms that were draped around his neck. I think I'm going to go take another shower. He gave her another kiss before untangling himself, and grabbing one of those scratchy white hotel towels that were pretty much useless on a guy as tall as he was. He tossed his cellphone on the bed along with his now very dingy black shirt If you need me you know where to find me. He said disappearing into the bathroom.Maybe a shower would help.

Becca watched Gemini walk away and frowned slightly. Something was still bothering him enough that he didn't want to be around her. Maybe he was hiding something, especially with the way he had moved the phone away from her before getting in the shower. Oh well, there was one person who would know.
Dani.
Leaning over to grab his phone off of the bed, she some how maneuvered the cracked screen until Dani's number flashed across the screen. A few rings later and all she got was a sarcastic answering machine. You've reached Dani's phone. If I didn't answer, I probably don't like you. If this is Gem, call me again in five minutes. Still the same as it had always been, other than Dani sounding older and the part about Gem. Maybe she knew they were missing already.
It was tempting, having the ability to go through Gem's phone. For some reason she didn't this time though, almost like she didn't want to know. Instead she just finished her breakfast and then laid down on the bed, waiting for Gem to get out of the shower or for Dani to call back, whichever came first.

Gem let the warm water run over him in hopes that somehow it would wash away the nagging feeling but it didn't. He rested his forehead against the wall of the shower and closed his eyes maybe it was his imagination but he felt dizzy. The only welcoming affects the water brought was easing his still tired and sore muscles. He turned the water off and proceeded to dry off before pulling on the sweats Becca had bought. He walked out of the bathroom towel in hand rubbing it on his head in attempt to dry his hair.
Hey.. he smiled at her and tossed the towel over one of the chairs sitting down on the edge of the bed.

Becca sat up and moved over to the edge of the bed where Gemini sat, wrapping her arms round him and resting her chin on his shoulder. For some reason she wanted to be close to him, closer than normal. Like soon everything was going to be ripped out from under them. "Hey... I have an idea. Why don't we find something to do around here while we wait. You pick, whatever you want with no complaints. I just..I want to be with you for a little while before the crazy catches up." Her arms tightened around him as she finished speaking, the intent clear in her voice. She was scared, more so than she had been before, that Gem wasn't hers anymore and may never be again. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed her phone light up with another message, but she didn't check. They could wait a little while longer. |

Feeling Becca's arms around him offered him a little comfort. She was like his warm little center of the universe when everything else felt cold and isolated. Maybe we should have gone to the hospital. He maneuvered in a way that you could wrap his arms around her and pull her against him tightly. Maybe if he held her close enough he could make all the bad feelings go away. I love you He mumbled I know I've said it a bunch lately I just figured you should know
He wasn't good with feelings and as many as he had been cycling through in the last couple days things were starting to get overwhelming. He felt like somehow he had lost himself, looking in the mirror he was the same guy, well almost but on the inside he felt like he didn't know himself at all anymore. I'm not making those kinds of decisions. You pick something and I'll do it.

"You know me. This is my idea of a good time. It isn't yours though, I just can't think of anything in a town like this you would want to do." Becca conceded, snuggling up against him as she spoke. Her attempt at being a good girlfriend seemed to be backfiring a little bit. Even if she had apparently gone to Vegas with him, it didn't look like her sense of adventure was getting any more pronounced.
Before she could answer, Becca noticed a small patch of ink on Gem's wrist that she hadn't caught before. Running her hand down his forearm, she turned it just slightly at the wrist so that she could read the words on there. It was definitely a tattoo with a partner, because it made very little sense on it's own. Her own wrists were bare, though she had noticed a tattoo on her shoulder earlier that day. "When did you get this?" She murmured, her fingers grazing over it lightly.

He raised an eyebrow at her Seriously Becca? You couldn't think of Anything I would want to do? Sometimes he wondered if his girlfriend knew him at all.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when felt her hand run down his arm to his wrist. He looked down at it noticing the patch of ink there for the first time Seriously Hospital. He couldn't even imagine how he had missed the black letters. He squinted at if as if somehow it'd make more sense that way but it didn't Uh.. I don't know.. He hadn't noticed anything on Becca so it wasn't anything matching with her. That would have made sense right? a matching tattoo with his girlfriend of four years?
