FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of powers can we have?
There are many kinds of powers that have been approved by the STAFF. You can find the list HERE.
Do related SPB have to have the same, or similar, powers?
Absolutely not. The gene that makes a person an SPB is not dependent on the types of powers. This means the powers are completely random, even when dealing with twins.
WHAT THE HECK DOES SPB MEAN?!
SPB stands for Super Power Being and is the PC term for our kind. (PC mean politically correct, by the way)
Is there a dress code at Ashford Academy?
There is not currently a specific school uniform, but there is a basic dress code the students must adhere to. You can find more information about that HERE.
Can I have a pet?
Unfortunately, Ashford Academy does not allow any type of pet to live in the dorms. In Calloway, though, you may keep a pet in your apartment, depending on what it is.
Are SPB public?
No. SPB are not common knowledge around the world. The school administrators go out of their way to keep the existence of the super power division of the school a secret.
So SPB are secret but Ashford isn't. How does that work?
Ashford Academy has a cover as a school for at risk youth with a very strict admission process.
How do the students find out about Ashford Academy, if it isn't advertised as a school for people with powers?
The school's vice principal is a powerful SPB with the ability to sense and locate others who have powers. After an SPB has been located, generally happening sometime shortly after puberty, a recruiter is sent to bring the new student to Ashford and explain to the families what the school's mission is.
How old are you when you learn you have powers?
A power will not manifest until after puberty. This means that the power won't appear in someone until they are about thirteen or fourteen years old. That is why Ashford only has a high school, instead of servicing all students K-12.
How do you get a power?
The SPB gene is recessive. This means that it is a rare, genetic abnormality and is generally uncommon. Because it is genetic, a person is more likely to have the SPB gene if they are born to two parents with the gene, although that does NOT guarantee manifestation.
Can I leave Ashford Campus whenever I want?
The school rules prohibit students from leaving the Ashford Campus and Calloway area during the week. Planned trips outside of the peninsula can be approved by school administration.
Where is the school located?
The school is located on the banks of the Yellowstone Lake. You can see our location on the map posted HERE.
How are incidents of exposure handled?
How do you handle parents who do not believe the story, or think the school is a joke?
How do you handle parents who do not believe the story, or think the school is a joke?
The principal of Ashford Academy has the ability to change, alter, erase, and implant memories. This power is often their saving grace, smoothing over any feathers that might have been ruffled in either of those situations.
