He sighed when Becca headed off to book the room before he could protest despite that she had a new found fortune He didn't want her to spend her money. He had watched her go to the front desk to make sure she was safe before wondering into the diner. Before anything else he booked it to the bathroom. He threw some water of his face examining his appearance under the florescent lights which were never flattering. He took a paper towel and wiped the now dried blood from his lip. The cut looked a little better now there wasn't blood crusted around it. He had a light bruise on the left side of his face but there wasn't much he could do about it.
When he exited the bathroom He saw Becca enter the diner and picked up the pace to meet her. Becca I could have gotten that stuff you know. but I appreciate it, you're the best" He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him kissing her on the forehead. I'm okay, just sore. How are you feeling? Are you hungry? We can eat here or we could probably get it to go? He said motioning to the bar area where there was a waitress working.

Could've walked away, but you're still here  "Let's grab something and take it back to the room. I'm exhausted and if I look as bad as I feel, then it cannot be good." Becca reasoned. Sure, it sounded a little vain, but mostly she was worried about people asking questions she didn't want to answer. They had literally been in a car accident, the spanish inquisition was not a welcome addition.
The waitress was a pretty younger woman, something that normally would've bothered Becca just a little bit on any other occasion. Tonight though, she had her arm wrapped securely around his waist and wasn't letting go, so he could flirt as much as he wanted to. According to the menu on the bar, they were still serving their late night special, some sort of hybrid between dinner and breakfast. For herself she ordered chicken strips and fries with a sweet tea which she sipped while they waited. "Well, I know it's probably weird to say, but sixteen year old me is pretty excited we made it all the way to eighteen and we're still together." She teased once the waitress left, knowing full well that things had been rocky between her and gem lately. It really was an achievement, one she was proud of.

Looking over the menu he decided he just wasn't really that hungry and decided to just order a coke. He subtly looked the waitress up and down out of habit though he was too tired to notice anything spectacular about her. He paid for Becca's meal and smiled to himself when he realized the waitress had written her phone number on the back, apparently even with a busted up face he still had it. Regardless of liking the attention he had no intentions of calling the waitress and he crumpled the receipt up tossing it in a nearby trash can.
Yeah me too..I just hate that I don't remember the past two years of it. When Becca's food was up Gem grabbed it and flashed the waitress a smile before grabbing Becca's hand and leading her out of the diner. Lead the way.. I have no idea where we're going

Could've walked away, but you're still here Becca held on to Gem's hand tightly as she walked back by the sleepy receptionist and up the set of stairs behind the desk. The room that matched her key was the first one on the left which she was immensely grateful for. The longer she was a wake, the more Becca just wanted to curl up in bed and not get up for a while, preferably with Gem. "Well, at least the place is nice." She commented idly, throwing her purse and the gift shop bag in a chair.
A large bed, probably king sized, took up most of the room. A table with two chairs had been shoved in a corner and the matching dresser held a large TV in front of the bed. It could've been worse, much worse.
Sitting down in one of the chairs, Becca moved her stuff on to the floor so that Gem could sit down and she could at least try to eat some of her food. The hoodie was a little hot in the heated room, so she took a moment to remove it. Her white sweater was revealed then looking worse for the wear. Dirt, dust, and something that looked like blood stained most of it. Cleaning up was definitely not going to be fun.
And I'm still here, come on let's see where it goes

Gem followed her eagerly, he was looking forward to being behind closed doors, he loved being outside but by this point he was over it. He looked around the room when Becca unlocked the door. It wasn't anything special but overall it was nice and as long as he wasn't going home with bed bugs he didn't care. Yeah, Not Bad He said.
The room had obviously been heated before they had gotten in there and he was now uncomfortably warm. He pulled off his leatehr jacket dumping it on the end of the bed. His black long sleeved shirt felt dirty and itchy against his skin. He pulled the shirt over his head dumping it on the ground.
He sat in the chair that Becca had cleared for him and rubbed the back of his neck hopping to get rid of the soreness before running his fingers through his hair tiredly. He gave her a small smile. When he saw what a mess her sweater was he frowned. Do you need me to get you something out of the clothes you bought?

"No, I think I'll take a shower first. No sense in changing until we're all fixed up." the food was great, but Becca was concerned about Gem and the way he was rubbing his neck. Pushing her meal aside, becca wiped her hands off with a napkin and then stood to walk over by Gem where the first aide kit was. "Alright babe, you first." An alcohol swab was already in her hand, so she opened it to clean the cut on Gem's face. It didn't look too bad, but she couldn't see anything else that needed attention right now. "Anything else bleeding? I can't tell."
All she wanted to do right now was curl up in bed with her boyfriend and forget that anything had happened. Gem was different somehow than what she remembered, but he was still hers and that was what mattered. They were in a pretty, quaint hotel room, and most importantly they were alive. Maybe they should just make the most of it.

Car accident or not he was still a guy and the thought of his girlfriend taking a shower caught his attention. He flinched when she applied the alcohol swab to his lip What the hell woman! He yelped though his tone was teasing.
Not that I’ve seen but you’re totally welcome to go looking. He flashed her a mischievous smile, He wasn’t sure if it was being out of the cold, finally being able to sit down or the sugar from the coke but he was feeling a lot better.
He reached out and pulled her into his lap as gently as possible and secured his arms around her waist pulling her against his bare chest. What about you? Do you have any places I need to check over?

This was the most comfortable she'd been since waking up in the car, making it difficult to want to get up and do pesky things like showering...but right now that actually sounded a little fun. "hmmm...not that I know of. I guess we'll just have to take that shower and find out, huh?" She grinned, kissing him softly before standing up to walk in to the small bathroom off to the side. There was no doubt in her mind that Gem was going to follow her. He was a guy after all.

Gem lounged on the bed one hand tucked behind his head leaving the perfect snuggle spot against him for Becca if she wanted it. The black sweats Becca had picked up in the gift shop were a bit big but they were warm, comfortable and better than the dirty jeans he had been stuck in all morning.
He ran his fingers through his now wet hair trying to style it in some way. He felt 100 times better now and he smiled at Becca. What do you want to do now ?

Could've walked away, but you're still here As always, the water from the shower left her feeling rejuvenated, one of the perks of being a hydrokinetic. Sure, it didn't heal her or anything like that, but it did take away some of the tired, murky feeling that she had been stuck with since they started walking. "Hmmm...well, we could obviously sleep, or we could try to call that tow truck, see what's up with that car." Her hair was taking forever to dry, but it finally lost enough of it's hydration of her to just soak the rest of it up. There, much better.
She had picked up a simple pajama set with the word Yellowstone stitched in to the top and the leg, mostly because it was in her size and it was blue. Most of these tourist traps rarely sold anything that wasn't related to the park, but it was warm and clean so she wasn't complaining at all. "What do you think?" She asked, crawling in to the bed beside Gem and curling up against him.

He raised an eyebrow at her and her Yellowstone pajamas. Oh Man.. Becca. Those are so hot. He said teasingly. He sighed when she reminded him about the tow truck. He had forgotten for a few seconds as to why they were out here in the middle of no where. He mentally groaned when he thought about his poor car all crushed. My dad is going to kill me.... He wasn't looking forward to that conversation, his parents usually put up with his antics but he had a feeling his dad might fly down to Wyoming for the pure purpose of smacking him upside the head when he found out.
He was distracted from his thoughts when Becca crawled up next to him. He had this nagging feeling that something wasn't right, but he couldn't figure out what it was, well besides the short term memory loss, maybe he was having some post traumatic stress. He pulled Becca tight against him hoping somehow She'd chase away the feeling. He let go of her so he could scoot down the bed a bit, and rolled on his side so he could face her.
He stared her into her blue eyes and brought his hand up to brush his thumb against her cheek. He pressed his lips against hers his free arm moving to wrap around her waist and pulled her against him. When he finally broke the kiss, he starred at her again studying her face. Becca, I love you. He blurted out. He wasn't sure why he said it but he had a nagging feeling he needed to say it now or he may never get too.

Gem's actions were soothing and familiar, but some part of her felt like they shouldn't be doing this. It didn't stop her from wrapping her arms around him and pulling him impossibly closer. "I love you too Gemini. " kissing him again, Becca tried to chase away the off feeling the best way she knew how. "Baby, are you okay? You look a little...upset, maybe?" it could just be the memory loss messing with them. There was no other explanation for her. Gemini was her boyfriend and apparently had been for well over two years now.
Her free hand found Gemini's hair, her fingers running through it absentmindedly. Becca wanted to know what they had been doing, but she continued drawing blanks. "What do you think we've been doing the last two years? Have we been together this whole time?" It has been long enough that people in a small town like Calloway would have been talking things like engagement and babies for a while. Maybe they had been heading out on a trip of some sort or maybe they didn't live in Calloway at all now. So many things she wanted to know, not enough time.

Her kiss only eased the feeling a little bit. Yeah I don't know I just don't feel right.. Her fingers running through his hair was soothing and he yawned. Despite the slight nagging, this was the most content he had been since the accident.
Ha maybe, you know us though He thought back to the roller coaster of breaking up and getting back together that they had been on. They'd get in a fight about something stupid and one of them would say they were done only to be back together a few days to a couple weeks later. He was honestly surprised to see Becca ad Him still in a relationship. He checked his left hand and then hers, though it was more of an excuse to lace his fingers through hers than to actually look at it. Well I guess I haven't put a ring on it He said with a small laugh. He mentally shuddered at the thought of marriage. It's not that he didn't love Becca but marriage seemed too final, too routine, and then came babies and babies were the ultimate ball and chain.

Becca was ready to respond whenever her phone started ringing. She had left it on the table in her purse earlier and hadn't thought about it since, though maybe she should have. It took her a second to disentangle herself from Gem, grab the phone, and attempt to answer it. The screen was completely busted, but the call was only from Dani. It couldn't be that important. "Looks like your bestie is trying to find you, Gem." She explained, holding the phone out to him so he could see the name on the missed screen. Before she could slide her phone back in to the bag, it toppled over and revealed the rest of its contents.
The papers from the night before didn't shock her, but another simple piece of copy paper did grab her attention. At the top were scrawled the word's Becca's Bucket List, and under it were a few ideas, some checked off and some not. One was circled in bright purple pen and it made her sigh with relief. "I think we were on a road trip. Look at this." the words were there plain as day with other things like kissing in the middle of lower falls and a few others she couldn't quite understand. They must've done a lot of growing in the past few years if things were that different.
A little box on the floor caught her attention last as she piled her things back in. It was rectangular and wrapped in some sort of white paper with a note in familiar handwriting on the front. Good luck you two! xoxo, Dani. if that wasn't the most cryptic message in the entire world, Becca didn't know what was. Ripping it open, she gasped and dropped it on the floor as she read the words Pregnancy Test, hoping Gem didn't notice.

Gem mentally sighed when Becca had untangled herself from him. Good feelings gone. He smiled when Becca held up the screen. Why hadn't he thought about calling Dani, maybe he should. He glanced at the paper that implied that they might be on a road trip. It must have been spontaneous thought since he couldn't remember any bags in the car, though stupid him had forgot to check the trunk. The thought made him smile, he'd always wanted to take adventures with Becca but she was so much more comfortable lounging at home he was happy to see she was finally on his level.
Gem stretched trying to reach his own phone that had been on the table too lazy to get out of bed. He flipped open his text messages reading through them, there was one from Dani a few days ago to meet her at Zellner lawn. There were a couple more from a few numbers he didn't recognize asking why he hadn't called or flirty messages. He scowled he wasn't sure why they had his number but they had gone unanswered so that means he wasn't doing anything right? He couldn't even imagine cheating on Becca.
Preoccupied he only glanced when Becca picked up something off the floor and opened it. The noise of something hitting the floor again caught his attention and peered over the side of the bed. He felt his stomach drop in the same way it does when you go down a hill too fast. He gulped staring at the way too bright pink box the had the word Pregnancy Test across it. He looked up at Becca probably looking a little too helpless. Is there something you need to tell me..? He asked after what seemed like forever.
