Candy Girl You Are My World After dinner was done Gem had checked his watch and realized if Dani was willing to go they needed to hit the road soon. He had stood up without saying a word to anyone, though he shot Seth a text to let him know what was going. He tracked down the waitress to pay for the meal before heading out the door. Gemini shot Dani a text as he stood outside by the Mazda. He really hoped she was down for this trip or he had put a lot of effort out for nothing, at the same time he wasn't sure she'd be willing to take off in the middle of the semester especially now that Finley was at Ashford. He popped open the driver door sitting on the edge of the seat switching his boots out for black and white converse. He dropped the boots in the back seat. He pulled off his jacket and started taking off his vest in an effort to get more comfortable before the drive while he mentally went over his packing checklist again for the 100th time that day.  The restaurant had gotten hot by the time Dani got Gem's text, enough that when she finally followed him outside she took off her jacket and laid it over her arm. Seth had seemed a little...giddy, like he was in on something, but she apologized to her friends anyways before grabbing the flowers and leaving. What was that boy up to? With her jacket and flowers in hand, she scanned the parking lot looking for her person. The Mazda was parked just down the row and the driver's side door was open, so hopefully he was there. Hey babe, what's up? She asked, leaning up against the side of the car. The concern in her voice was evident. Maybe she had gone too far with joking about his dad or something. Hopefully he wasn't upset. |

He was in the process of pulling his vest off when he saw Dani leaning up against his car, which was his favorite thing next to girls, with her sexy new red hair, and a corset that showed off all the right curves. He couldn't have imagined it better himself. Shit He said out loud, if he had been a cartoon character he would have been one of those wolves with the hearts in his eyes. If he had seen exactly what she was wearing in the restaurant beautiful would have been the words he had chosen. He tossed the vest in the back seat. He closed the gap between them quickly his hands going to her hips, as he pressed his lips against hers in a deep kiss before placing a kiss against her neck Wait, is it my birthday or yours? though he wasn't sure she could hear him with his lips pressed against her neck. At this rate they were never getting out of town.

Gem's response was a little shocking considering the way he left the restaurant, but it made her smile anyways. Dani wrapped her arms around his neck and held him close for a moment. Definitely mine. She whispered, kissing him again. Maybe this was all he had wanted, but if that was the case then he would've just told her so, right? Besides, he had seemed a little stunned to see her with her jacket off. Gem...what are we doing out here? She asked breathlessly as she pulled away, leaning her head against his shoulder as she tried to catch her breath and gather her thoughts. |

Dani stared at Gem and then at his hand in hers for a long minute. It wasn't the first time they had been on a trip, but it was probably the longest one they had taken alone. Plus it was the middle of the school year. What was that going to do to her grades? Wait. She didn't care about that. how? I mean...I need to pack and get my stuff right? This was crazy, but the look on Gem's face... There was no way she was turning that down. Yes. Of course I'm coming with you, loser. Oh Good, it was going to be really awkward if you said no. You don't even have to worry about packing. I did it all for you. He patted the back of the truck with a big smile Now, I won't be held responsible for whatI packed because that's all on you for having those kinds of clothes. He walked over to the passenger side of the car opening the the door for her before returning to the drivers side and getting in. He went over his mental checklist again, plugging his phone into the AUX port there was no way he was going to have the option of silence or only country music this time for this long of a drive. New Editions Candy girl started playing and he laughed to himself about the coincidence.He reached behind the seat pulling out one of many energy drinks he had packed just in case. Check. Check Check and Check He was looking forward to falling off the grid for awhile with his best friend though he was sure Jasper was going to lose it when he got back.

Dani couldn't help but look at Gem like he was crazy for a minute. Just take off and leave for a week? Actually...with all the weird stuff lately, it didn't sound like a bad plan. So I'm taking it my vegas outfit made it in the bag. Both of them. She teased, sliding in and buckling her seat belt. Part of her wondered where they were going, but for the most part she didn't care. Gem was there, so she really didn't need anything else. So, you said a week...how far are you trying to drive tonight? Or is redbull giving you wings? At least she understood now why he hadn't wanted to drink. It was sweet that he could be responsible when he wanted to be. |

Just remember that if I get cold, I'm stealing your clothes and never giving them back. It wouldn't be the first time since they had started this thing of theirs that she had ended up in something of his simply because she was too lazy to go get her own clothes. Sweatpants were amazing things, especially the ones with the strings. They were a girl's best friend. So is this what you were doing all day? Thank you for the roses by the way, they are beautiful. At some point she was going to have to throw them away, because they just wouldn't last in a car. It was the thought that counted though and they had earned him so major brownie points. His hand on her leg made Dani smile as she laced her fingers with his, flipping through his playlist to try to find a decent driving song. |

He wiggled his hand free for a moment to take a drink of the red bull, at this rate he was going to be super hyper when they finally got to the hotel. He relaced his fingers with her when he put the can back in the cup holder. Yeah there was a lot of packing, and car maintenance, birthday present shopping, and some other stuff I needed to deal with today. It kept me pretty busy.

Finally settling on some hip hop song she only vaguely knew, Dani turned slightly in the seat so that she was facing Gem as the road flew by. At this rate it wouldn't take them long at all to reach his first stopping point. Little to no traffic, plus the tourists were mostly gone for the season...it was the perfect time to get away. I'm 90% sure your favorite one from Vegas was worse than this. Actually, it wasn't your favorite at the time. What happened to making me cover up all the time? Gem throwing her his shirt from the stage and the jealous looks she got from the other girls in the club made her smile now, but at the time it had been highly embarrassing. This has already been the best birthday yet. Seriously, babe...you didn't have to go to this much trouble. No one ever had. If she was lucky her workers back home made sure she had a birthday cake, a nice one once had given her a cheap necklace for her twelfth birthday. Something about becoming a young lady. Other than that it had just been her and Finley. That made this even more special, but she wasn't going to bring the mood down by saying it out loud. Maybe some day, but not now. |

I love the Vegas outfit, though I try to pretend you haven't seen me strip. Or have video of it. He said with a small laugh. It hadn't been a big deal when it had happened but now Gemini had come to feel a little bit weird about it, really the whole thing his now girlfriend thing had to pretty much save him from marrying a stripper. Of course I did. It's my favorite girls birthday. I'm surprised you haven't been trying to pry where we're going out of me.

With as weird as things have been lately, I might have left soon for a few days anyways. You have no idea how relieved I am to even be out of town, much less leaving the state. Dani admitted, grabbing her jacket from the back seat so that she could pull her phone out. It looked like someone was already texting her. My brother says we can be gone as long as we want. His only condition is that I don't come back pregnant. Gem wouldn't let something like that happen. He was too fond of his freedom and so was she. Maybe some day, but not now. Definitely not on this trip. |
