Before she had returned to the car, Dani had stopped to grab a bottle of water from a vending machine outside the rest stop. Gem had probably packed something, but she was looking for something cool, not room temp. That was one of the weird parts about already being cold in her opinion. Hey, I didn't want to wreck your baby. She's been through enough lately, she doesn't need my help. Gem's car was beautiful and deserved to be respected. Apparently Becca hadn't gotten that memo, but still.
His question shocked her though, enough that she choked on her water. The few seconds between when she was able to breathe again and when her brain completely caught up to what he was asking must have been pretty entertaining though. Umm...well, that was out of no where. She laughed nervously. Oh man. If they weren't a thing...he would probably kill her over this. Including you? Two. And no, you don't know the other one. It happened before I came to Ashford. Not much, but granted the implication was still there. She just didn't sleep around. No big deal right?

Gem laughed at her comment about the car Yeah tell me about it I don't need another mechanic shop bill He grumbled. Though Jasper had covered most of the cost it still cut into his monthly allowance from his parents, which he guessed he couldn't complain too much.
He felt bad when he heard Dani choke on her water, maybe he shouldn't have asked. He didn't mean for it to take her by surprise his curiosity had just gotten the best of him. two?! Gem might have slammed on the breaks if they weren't going so fast. Well if I didn't feel like a man slut before I do now, you should have told me, I would have made sure there was music and candles. He teased, though now he did feel slightly guilty about how everything had gone down. It wasn't that he thought Dani slept around a lot, he just assumed it was more than with two people

The situation was ridiculous. Really, she should've said something before now. Maybe things would have been just a little bit different. She didn't want that though. She just wanted him. Babe, it's not a big deal. Promise. I just don't sleep around like that. I go home with guys, we make out, I go back to my place. I'm not comfortable enough with most people to stay that long. Not even Ralph. Heck, they didn't even have a decent make out session. That relationship had been basically useless when it came to the physical department.

Gem scoffed No way anyone sleeps around as much as I do. Something else about what she said caught his attention Wait, thirteen?!Gem looked at her best he could with his eyebrows raised. To each their own but that was awfully young. First love? He was surprised in the time that they had been friends that this somehow hadn't come but before then but at the same time. Gem wasn't entirely surprised to find out nothing had really happened with Ralph, not because Dani or her feelings but mostly because Ralph really sucked in the girl department, Gemini almost half wondered if Ralph had ever even made out with a girl. The guy had potential but he lacked confidence just like Seth. Sucks to be them. Well I guess I should feel special then. I think...
He glanced at his GPS it seemed they weren't very far from their first stop. He couldn't be happier to be out of the car soon and be able to stretch out and snuggle up with his favorite person.

Thirteen and no one to tell me not to. The best and worst part of being left eternally unsupervised. And yea. He was my first boyfriend and it happened. No big deal. Most girls might have been more attached to their fist everything, but Joe was Joe and she refused to tell Gem that the reason why they broke up was that he was still in Juvie. Nope. Not a birthday conversation at all. The road seemed to blur by as Gem drove, probably well over the speed limit. Before she knew it they were heading in to a small city or large town, she couldn't tell, with a decent hotel that Gem pulled in to. I was starting to think that you had decided to drive all night. she teased, getting out to grab some of the bags from the back seat. If they drove much more they'd be way too tired to do anything BUT sleep.

He was surprised by her nonchalant attitude about the whole situation. Most girls were pretty attached to their first loves and their first times which is why he had a very strict no first timer policy, he was the last kind of guy a girl should have her first time with for a multitude of reasons. Well I guess that's cool was about the only thing he could think to say.
Nawh, I have other things to tend to. He scowled at her when she grabbed bags from the back seat I could have gotten those. He popped the trunk grabbing a couple of couple bags and his deadpool backpack. He circled the car to take the bags she had grabbed from her I don't do all this working out just for the good looks. He gave her a kiss on the forehead before head toward the office to check in. When they entered the office he dropped the bags at his feet, of course there was a pretty blonde at the check in desk who immediately started oogling him. She tried making conversation about his name when He handed her his ID though Gem was less than interested in the girl across the counter only replying with Mhm. Yep. It's unique. Normally Gem didn't mind his name it was a great conversation starter when he actually decided to tell a girl his actual name but the "that's so unique!" thing had gotten really old over the years. It was almost as old as the 'do you work out?' which is exactly what the girl asked next as she chewed on the end of her pen and slid a paper he needed to sign over to him.Nope, Not at all. It's super soldier serum Gem mumbled making a comic book reference. The girl look confused as she slid the keys to the room across the counter. He bent to pick up the the bags off the floor Babe could you grab the keys? He nodded his head toward the counter. He felt pretty proud of himself for keeping his flirting under control today, at least for Dani's birthday.

It took everything Dani had to keep from laughing at Gem's reaction to the pretty receptionist at the front desk. This was going to be an entertaining week, watching him try to be monogamous. Maybe she would sneak off at some point to let him work it out of his system or Gem was liable to be miserable. Sure thing honey. She grinned, grabbing the keys and heading towards the elevator. Their room was a little high up, even for Gem to be carrying all those bags. The look on the girl's face was absolutely hilarious, a mix between shock and horror. People thinking they were actually a couple never ceased to amaze her.
Their room was nice, but anything was better than being stuck back at Calloway. Plus, the place had a pool. What could beat that? Even though I love your car, you have no idea how excited I am to be out of it. Corsets were not made for long car rides. Especially not the ones that you actually lace up, which was exactly what she was wearing. Sitting up straight for as long as they had been driving was a nightmare.

Though he normally enjoyed the attention He was trying really hard to make Dani the center of his and the flirty receptionist was not helping his case. He rolled his eyes at the girl and her expression as they made their way to the elevator. He was grateful, it wasn't that he'd have any physical issues climbing stairs with their bags but his legs were stiff from driving and he was feeling lazy.
Once the made it to the room he dropped their bags on the floor. He smiled at her he loved that Dani loved his car, most girls could careless. Hey no one said you had to wear it the entire drive. Here. Here let me help.. He moved toward her playfully tugging on the strings of her her corset though he never actually untied them.

They had been in that car way too long for anything like sitting to happen ever again...for the next thirty or so minutes. How about we try out the pool instead. It's still open and maybe we won't be so stiff later. You know, loosen up a bit. Standing on her tip toes, Dani kissed Gem softly before reaching over to grab the suitcase she recognized as hers. Hopefully he had remembered to pack her swimsuit or she'd just have to go in a tank top and pajama bottoms. Well, if he remembered to bring those too.

Why yes yes I would love that. His hopes fell as quickly as the rose when She led him to the bed and then declared that they should go swimming. Finnne He groaned dramatically reaching for his bag, he wasn't even sure he had packed his swim trunks. Who would have thought Dani would want to go swimming when they were on the cusp of winter. He dug in his bag and found his black swim trunks, I'll do the hot tub, but blue isn't the best color on me. He changed into his swim trucks and dug in his bag again for a plain t-shirt, it was way too cold to be walking around shirtless.

Grabbed his hand and walked towards the direction of the pool and was happy to see she was right. The lights were dimmed and the entire place silent. See, perfect. the hot tub was right beside them, so she slipped off her over shirt to ease herself down in to the hot water.

Before following her he had grabbed the Bottle of cake vodka, he didn't bother hiding it on the way to the pool since most normal people were already in bed and ultimately he really just didn't care. He was ecstatic when he saw no there and the dimmed lights not only did it mean alone time for him and Dani but it also meant that no one else was going to oogling his girl in the black bikini She had chosen to wear except him. He stared watching remove her shirt appreciating all the curves Dani had in all the right places. He pulled the t-shirt he was wearing over his head tossed on a nearby pool chair before slipping into the water next to her.Good Idea Babe. He reached for the bottle of vodka opening it and handing it to her.

Something about it was sweet and awesome, but then the vodka hit and it left her feeling confused about the whole birthday cake thing. Flavored drinks were either the best or worst things in the world. This was right in between. Well, other than being an up and coming corset model. I think I could make that in to a full time job though, don't you think? Granted Gem would never let anyone see her again after that because for some reason he was starting to seem like the jealous type, but hey...beggars can't be choosers.

He hadn't realized how tense he had been until the warm water had started to relax him. It was crazy to think how quickly everything had changed in the last few months from Rae staying in Vegas to him and Dani hooking up, and his fight with Ralph though they were on the mend. He rubbed his shoulder glad that the bite healed or this hot tub soak could have been more painful. How's the vodka?

Pretty good. Almost a little too sweet for my tastes, but still...it's definitely in my top ten birthday cakes. The last part was a little bit of a joke, but she tried not to laugh in case he took it the wrong way. She really did love the idea and thought it was sweet of him. This was the best idea babe. All of it. I'd tell you you were awesome, but I'd be afraid your head would explode.Her favorite part of this whole relationship was how quickly they switched back and forth between lovers and best friends. One second it was cuddles and pet names, the next it was sarcasm and name calling. What could be better than that?
