LUCK MANIPULATION |
Luck Manipulation sounds like it is all fun and games. For a bit of it, it sure can be. Gage has to power to manipulation, create, and control luck. But there are a few things to remember about luck in general is that just because someone is granted luck, it does not mean that everything will go right for them forever. First of all, Gage's power does have a time limit. The luck he gives someone really only last for the next twenty hours or so. The second thing you really ought to remember, is that not all luck is necessarily good. Gage does have the ability to bestow bad luck, and while most of the time he has a good handle on which kind of luck he is throwing around, he can sometimes lose touch with it. Finally, being granted luck, whether it is good or bad, never makes anything 100% certain.
Too expand a little on that, things can become near certain depending on what they are. For instance, a flip of a coin, which has a 50% chance of landing on heads, may now have an 80% chance of lands on heads. But something like the lottery, which you may have a 1% chance of winning, may suddenly have a 30% chance. Nothing is guaranteed ever. The same goes for bad luck. If he grants someone bad luck, they hay have a heighten chance of stepping on gum or something.
Gage CAN use the power on himself, which is his favorite part.

The afternoon was wearing on and Gage still hadn't eaten lunch. A glance at his phone told him that it was almost two in the afternoon and he groaned, leaning forward over the dining room table where he had dumped the pasta when it burst into what he swears were huge flames over the stove. The fire on the stove, glowing blue in the dimly lit room, was still crackling across the room as Gage starred at crispy black instant ramen noodles, broken into strange pieces all over the table. He knew he should probably clean it up, but a low blood sugar and rumbling stomach made him too lazy to care. Besides, even if he cleaned up the evidence of his flaming pasta dish, the smell in the room was potent enough that anyone within two miles could tell what he had done.

Phobiokinesis |
General Power Description - Jax’s version of Phobiokinesis allows him to look at someone, in his line of sight of course, and immediately discern what their greatest fear is. He can then cause them to have hallucinations involving that fear for up to 5 minutes which is spread out among the people simultaneously hallucinating. The power only works on those in Jaxs’ line of sight, but causes Jax to get headaches when around large groups of people due to the sheer amount of fears he discovers. However, once effected, the power will last until time runs out or they break out of it.
Power Weaknesses - Somebody who is not mentally strong enough to fight it will be engulfed in terror until the time runs out, however a person who recognizes that it’s not real can fight against the hallucination and break out of it rather easily. People not affected can also break someone out of the trance by hitting them softly yet firmly ( or hard.)
Without Your Power - He wouldn't be able to read the fears of a person anymore, but physically and otherwise there is virtually no difference.

Jax was walking around the dorm to get accumulated to the set up before classes started. Suddenly, like running in to a brick wall, Jax noticed this horrendous smell. "What the hell is that smell?" he muttered to himself as he began to track where the smell was coming from. He stumbled upon the dining hall and kitchen area and sees a man standing over something that is smoking. He looks about the same age as me he thought. Jax walked in to the room and, nervously, attempts to get the attention of the man. "A-are you okay?" he says embarrassed by the little stutter.

Gage flinched, surprised by the sudden voice at the door. He looked up, raising his eyes brows and smiling awkwardly, laughing at himself, "Yeah, bro. I'm all good." He said, finally standing up to start the clean up process. Not that someone has witness the filthy burnt mess, he may as well do something about it, "Little hungry, but otherwise unharmed." He joked, holding up his hands as if to prove that he wasn't burnt or anything.

"Well it's good that you aren't hurt or anything..." Jax finally noticed how hungry he was after his stomach growled. Jax stood there almost as if he was debating something within himself. Quickly, Jax mustered the courage and decided on what he would do next. "I...I can cook a little bit and i'm hungry anyways so I could make some for you too if you want me to. God must have sent this guy in to save Gage's life. After all, for the last two years or so Gage hasn't cooked a single meal for himself. The army took care of shit like that. So when this guy offered to make him some food, Gage couldn't help but jump at the chance. He grinned and held his hand out, offering a handshake, "Gage." He said, "Nice to meet you, Dude."

"Nice to meet you too." Jax replied. All of a sudden, not thinking about the interaction with a person he'd only just met, Jax seemed to loosen up. "What would you like to eat?" Jax said as he gazed in to the fridge. Remembering he had brought supplies for grilled cheese, Jax thought maybe that would be a good way to go food wise. "Is Grilled Cheese okay with you?" he asked as he started to think about all he would need to make it and where he put it. JONATHAN GAGE MADDOX

Gage smiled and nodded, walking into the kitchen to gather a few paper towels to finish wiping up his epic fail that had been flung across the room. After he finished cleaning up the mess, he looked up at Jax and laughed at a statement he hadn't even made yet, "I would eat almost anything you set in front of me right now. Do you're thing, man." Gage said, thankful he didn't seem too weird, despite his darker sort of appearance.

"Okay." Jax replied as he began to gather the supplies for the food. Jax pulls a pan out and sets it on the stove over the fire that Gage left burning. Quickly, yet seamlessly, Jax procured 2 grilled cheese sandwiches and pulls a bag a chips out of the cabinet. "Here you go." Jax stated as he held out the plate and sort of motioned at the table. Gage sat up with his legs propped on the dining room table, punching through facebook on his cell phone while Jax worked on the food. It seemed almost instantaneous to him that the food was suddenly set in front of him and Gage swung his feet back to the floor, looking up at Jax, " Whoa! Dude, what's your power? Instant food creation?" He joked, grabbing the bag of chips and pouring a little pile of them on to his plate. He picked up the sandwich and took a huge bite, groaning in an almost awkward way as he chewed and swallowed, " Oh mah gawd." He said with a full mouth, " You must be the grilled cheesus." Jax could barely contain his laughter at what his new-found acquaintance said. Jax began to pour chips on his plate as well. Remembering he had Kool-aid in the fridge, Jax stood up and went to grab it. He returned to the table with his Kool-aid and popped it open. He took a few sips and set the drink down on the table. "So, what year in school are you?" He asked. JONATHAN GAGE MADDOX

Gage had almost completely finished his sandwich by the time Jax had returned to the table with Kool-Aid. He popped a potato chip in his mouth and raised his eye brows, "College freshman." He cringed a little bit, grabbing another chip, "I'm super old to be only just now starting college, I know." He said, stating out loud what he assumed his new friend must be thinking, "What about you?"

Jax was slightly confused by Gage's response. He had thought they were the same age since before he had even said anything. Jax popped the rest of his sandwich in his mouth and finished it off. "I'm a freshman too but...you said your'e old for a freshman but you don't look all that old." Jax said still confused from the previous statement. "How old ARE you exactly?" he said "If you don't mind my asking of course" he added in quickly a little louder. JONATHAN GAGE MADDOX

This guy seemed like he might have been overly cautious, especially regarding things that might offend someone. Of course, Gage understood his apprehension. People these days got all butt hurt over the most trivial crap pretty much all the time. Gage couldn't help but wonder if Jax had been yelled at for asking someone what their age was before, but he shook it off knowing that it was an irrelevant fact, "Twenty." He said, eating a few more chips before realizing he was super thirsty. He hopped out of his seat and started rummaging through random cabinets in the kitchen. He found a number of things that would probably be useful if he knew what they did, but no cups. What kind of kitchen doesn't have cups? Sighing, he bent over, ignoring the popping sound his back made from the whiplash damage he'd received from the explosion months ago. He turned on the faucet and drank water straight out of the stream before returning to the table, "I was in the military and got discharged a little while ago so I thought I would go to school and try to do something kinda useful."

Jax almost immediately connected the dots after what Gage said. The military would be a place you would develop the fear of bombs I suppose.A few seconds passed before it clicked in, "We're the same age so i guess that must mean i'm old too, huh?" Jax sarcastically blurted out before realizing what he had said. "I have an extra Kool-aid in the fridge if you would like it." Jax said almost seeming to try and change the subject. Gage raised his eye brows and thankfully yanked the Kool-aid out of the fridge, "I'll pay you back, dude." He said, popping it open and taking a huge gulp, letting the fruity drink smooth his thirst. Gage hadn't noticed or minded the quip about Jax also being old. He didn't think a thing about it mostly because it was exactly what he would have said, "So you're here for school too, I assume? You studying anything in particular?" He inquired, putting the lid back on to the Kool-Aid to keep himself from finishing the few more gulps left in the bottle.
