Phobiokinesis |
General Power Description - Jax’s version of Phobiokinesis allows him to look at someone, in his line of sight of course, and immediately discern what their greatest fear is. He can then cause them to have hallucinations involving that fear for up to 5 minutes which is spread out among the people simultaneously hallucinating. The power only works on those in Jaxs’ line of sight, but causes Jax to get headaches when around large groups of people due to the sheer amount of fears he discovers. However, once effected, the power will last until time runs out or they break out of it.
Power Weaknesses - Somebody who is not mentally strong enough to fight it will be engulfed in terror until the time runs out, however a person who recognizes that it’s not real can fight against the hallucination and break out of it rather easily. People not affected can also break someone out of the trance by hitting them softly yet firmly ( or hard.)
Without Your Power - He wouldn't be able to read the fears of a person anymore, but physically and otherwise there is virtually no difference.

Gathering his trash and putting it in the trash can, Jax calmed down quickly. "Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal anyways." Jax said. "I'm in school studying behavioral psychology." He stated while simultaneously brushing off the table with his hand exposing part of his tattoo from under his black long-sleeved t-shirt. "What about you? What are you studying?" LUCK MANIPULATION |
Luck Manipulation sounds like it is all fun and games. For a bit of it, it sure can be. Gage has to power to manipulation, create, and control luck. But there are a few things to remember about luck in general is that just because someone is granted luck, it does not mean that everything will go right for them forever. First of all, Gage's power does have a time limit. The luck he gives someone really only last for the next twenty hours or so. The second thing you really ought to remember, is that not all luck is necessarily good. Gage does have the ability to bestow bad luck, and while most of the time he has a good handle on which kind of luck he is throwing around, he can sometimes lose touch with it. Finally, being granted luck, whether it is good or bad, never makes anything 100% certain.
Too expand a little on that, things can become near certain depending on what they are. For instance, a flip of a coin, which has a 50% chance of landing on heads, may now have an 80% chance of lands on heads. But something like the lottery, which you may have a 1% chance of winning, may suddenly have a 30% chance. Nothing is guaranteed ever. The same goes for bad luck. If he grants someone bad luck, they hay have a heighten chance of stepping on gum or something.
Gage CAN use the power on himself, which is his favorite part.

Gage instinctively punched his number into Jax's phone as he spoke, trying to to laugh at his own stupidity, "I'm lucky they even let me into this school." He said, handing the phone back to his new buddy, "I haven't chosen a field to study yet. I think maybe I'll try and be a power trainer though?" 'Try' was definitely the optimal word. Gage never did care for school. He motioned his head towards the phone, "Text me your name so I have you number. Maybe sometime I'll buy you food so I don't feel like such a complete tool."

"Will do." Jax said. Suddenly, Jax starts to prop himself up on the table gripping his necklace tightly with his other hand. Panting heavily, Jax begins to moan as if he is bearing excruciating pain. I let my guard down Jax thought to himself while fighting off the pain. It takes all Jax has just to suppress his power to keep Gage from being effected. Jax begins to slowly shuffle his way toward the door in a rush to get away from the person he had just befriended. Jax gritted his teeth cursing his power and feeling a sense of depression engulfing him as he realizes that he will lose his new found friendship. JONATHAN GAGE MADDOX |

Gage wasn't really sure how to react to what was going on. He had seen that kind of thing before, but nothing quite as extreme. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder was rampant in the military and he could identify a panic attack when he saw one. But when was he supposed to do. Feeling uncomfortable, Gage did exactly the worst thing, he tried to make a joke about it, "Dude, I don't have to buy you food." He knew even when the words came out that it wouldn't make things any better. When Jax took off for the door, Gage stood up, "Whoa, what's wrong?" He asked, moving to follow.

"I...I gotta go!" Jax shouted attempting to end the conversation in any way that could possibly lead to a semblance of friendship afterwords. By the time he had gotten to the door, Jax had lost his balance and his shoulder slammed against the wall, knocking a picture down on the the ground. Glass slid across the floor and, as though he hadn't even noticed, Jax began to attempt to move again failing. As he began to muster the rest of his strength so he could move again he felt the pain begin to subside. Still, embarrassed by the whole thing, he planned to stick to leaving the room. "I-I'm sorry!" Gage frowned as he reached Jax, reaching out to help him up, "Dude, let me help you upstairs." He said, insisting on aiding the man up to his dorm, "Tell me what I can do to help." He said, not really sure what was going on. Gage stepped over some glass, kicking it out of the way with the edge of his combat boot to make sure Jax didn't encounter any on his way out the door.

"I-I appreciate the offer but I can make it up the stairs myself." Jax said quietly, conserving his strength. Finally, Jax managed to lift himself from the wall and began to shuffle out the door stopping midway through the doorway. "I'll send you that text later." Jax proclaimed as he turned his head toward Gage and gave a soft smile that was just an attempt to hide the overwhelming feeling of sadness that had taken him by the throat. "See ya later Gage." Gage looked at the door, concerned for a moment and not really sure what he did. But the guy seemed fine with him so instead of running up the stairs after him, Gage decided to stay behind and clean up the mess the pair had left in their tracks.
