I should do this.... - Open

Nix sat down in the comfy chair and looked at her paper before her on the desk and then she moaned softly and leaned over with a hand and pushed it away, "I dont wannnnnaaaa" she complained to no one. She rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair, lifting up a foot and knocking the paper on to the floor with a little smirk. "Stupid math" she muttered darkly before she rolled around in the chair slightly with her arms before she looked around the room, she knew she could do this and she knew she only needed to focus on it to do it and she would pass it fine. It was only summer homework, nothing nasty. 

But she hated maths! 

She pushed her bare feet in to the floor and stood up, stretching her arms out and then bending over and a little crack shot through the room as her back slide itself in to place. She leaned forwards more and her hands pressed in to the ground, her legs leaning over the top of her and moving apart. The red head smiled to herself and gave a soft sigh, this felt more like fun to her than sitting around doing home work and she was upside down for it! It was never a good sign when you were happier to be upside down and backwards with blood rushing to your head, than sitting in a chair getting better grades

The lounge was still quieter than normal, with most of the Page Hall residents choosing to go home for the summer rather than stay with the rejects like her who weren't welcome where they came from. Upon turning the corner, she was greeted by the sight of another person literally doing some sort of hand stand in the middle of the floor. Definitely not the weirdest thing she had seen this week, but it almost made the top ten. Almost.

Walking towards an open seat, Danielle sat down with a loud thump and observed the newer person. She had to be new, because Dani knew everyone in the dorms for the simple fact that she was a full timer. A math book was open on the desk, it's spine indicating that the girl was a year ahead of her, but that didn't mean a thing.

"So, let me guess. You just showed up and they already hit you with the summer homework?" Dani stated offhandedly. "It goes by faster than they admit, but math is a pain. Lit was definitely the easiest."

Nix started as she heard a sound, her legs twisting in the air and then leaning over her head to right herself as she heard a voice and looked around, her head was a little heavy and her eyes a little blurry so she addressed the wall for a moment before she realized the human talking to her was in fact sitting over to her right. "I hate maths, you dont need half the stuff you get taught in real life" she complained before she turned and gave a sheepish grin, her eyes coming back in to focus slowly.

"And i been around a while, i spend a lot of my time in my room or outside in the dark but people arent my strong point" she said with a tilt of her head as she leaned back and sat on the desk, her hands moving to try and feel where her home work had ended up but she couldnt so she didnt try any harder. She hated the stuff any way and here was a very nice distraction that had walked right on in, why do homework when she could try her hardest to work on her awful people skills?

"Mine either. I just prefer to punch them in the face rather than staying away." It wasn't a fool proof method, but it was all that she knew. Her twin brother had tried to keep Dani on the straight and narrow, but he wasn't much better some times. "My problem with math is that most of us won't even leave this stupid little town, so why are any of the general subjects necessary? We need to learn how to control and conceal our powers enough to be real people, that's it."

Dani's tone was a little harsh, but that was just her personality. She hated feeling trapped, especially when it was the principal's fault she couldn't go home to the only two parents she had ever known. They would've adopted her, given her a real house with a real family. Now all she had was this stupid school and a brother who thought she was psychotic. Maybe it was true.

Nix tilted her head and chuckled as the other girl spoke, that sounded a lot like nix in her younger years. "Ahh, i know that feeling. In they are flinching in pain, they wont bug you" she said with a little roll of her eyes, this was before her mind reminded her of her time in the street gang and her mouth closed quickly. Best not to go there, she had hurt a lot of people in the name of money and winning so maybe it was good she didnt talk to many people now. "I get that, i mean we have to live close to here even when we leave and we will end up having to shape our own world because we arent allowed back in to the human one" she said with a tilt of her head, her eyes moving around the room for a moment. She didn't dislike the place, she liked the fact others were like her and they had school here but she also liked the idea of travelling and that had been stripped away from her now she was learning here. True, she was wanted for a few nasty things outside this little world of theirs but it was such a small world for one like her to explore.

"I guess we could go abroad, or even out of the town, but then the school won't clean up our messes. Personally, I'm good unless other people screw with me. No weapons, no problems." Technically some creative people over the years had expanded her definition of weapons to include a few household items such as belts and spoons, but she didn't mind most of the time. It was definitely a cool trick and made most people slightly confused. Telumkinetics should only be able to control things like guns and knives, not pull you around by your belt if your being stupid. "It's just easier to stay here. No one ever leaves anymore because they feel safe, but once college is over...I'm out."

Nix narrowed her eyes at that comment, no one had cleaned up for her before. Well she didnt know for sure about that, the police had always been after her for something. Her attacking her uncle, she didnt even know it the man lived through that wave of shadows. Her working in the street gang, she got far too well known for her tricks there. She shivered at the thought of these things coming back to get her without someone hiding them for her, she sighed at the thought of it all. "I wanna leave, but im too much of a danger" the red head said in a voice starting most bold before her wavered and died off towards the end. Truth be told, she didnt even know what her power could do if she blacked out again and she didnt want to find out because she had only ever awoken to see terrible things when she did lose herself to the shadows

"Then practice. The trainers are pretty tough and they'll just neutralize you if they have to." Dani stated, crossing her legs as she did and leaning back in to the couch. "Or take on a tougher student. I can take just about anyone, and if I can't I'll nail your ass to the wall. " Most people thought she was joking, but that was pretty far from the truth. Even though she was a telumkinetic and could take anything she wanted, she preferred throwing knives. Small, precise, and deadly in the hands of people who could use them correctly.

Nix felt her eyes flash when she heard those words, her fingers buzzing softly and this time it was a sign to her to calm down. Her own anger fed her power often enough but it was also easy to tell when she was getting too wound up, so she took a breath and uncurled her fist. "My power doesnt work like that, think if it like a car. If you put in to much fuel it goes wrong and if it runs out then theres a problem, they are training me to do new things and to to use it in different ways but....im unstable" she said with a little tilt of her head.

Her mind flashed as she thought this, images of a darker time coming to mind. Hiding her power from her family only to be attack and her ability to take her over, she blanked out and only came round to find blood and remains before her. She shivered at the memory and then her eyes shot open, she hadnt even noted she had closed them and she looked down to see a bubble of purple wrapped around her hand. It spiked out as it was noted and then disappeared like smoke as nix shook her head, her eyes shooting to the other girl and felt worry slip on to her face.

"Cool, what was that?" Danielle inquired, her cool demeanor not skipping a beat as she took in the glowing hand. It wasn't a power she could remember seeing before and that was exceedingly rare. Dani knew everyone and made a point of sparing with them at least once. It was just in her nature. That was also why she didn't freak out like the person in front of her was expecting. "And, for the record, the best part about cars? It's learning how to drive them, not worrying if you'll have an accident. The more you worry, the more power you give your abilities to change who you are." Almost as a demonstration, Dani looked across the room to where a harmless looking pencil sat on the table. Thanks to a fairly creative fourth grade bully, she was able to make it fly across the room and in to the Palm of her hand where she twirled it a few times before setting it back down

nix tilted her head in confusion at the question aimed at her, her eyes darting to her hand to check her shadows were gone before she sighed softly. "Its triggered by emotion, negative ones on my part of others. I take it in from others and then it gets stored and i can expel it in different forms, the issue being if i store too much I black out and this sort of shadow version of me come over. Its everything negative i've felt and on the 2 occasions its happened, its come round to dead bodies. But the other thing if i use it too much, in a battle, i use up the enegry powering myself and can kill myself" she said in a very long breath. Though the next words did make her smile and she nodded once more, her hands flexing out as she spoke again. "Oh no, im not worried about bthem all the time and all that stupid pity crap. But going out in to the wider world where i could black out and possible hurt or kill someone and there would be no one to fight my corner, bad idea in the making" she said with a little smile, her eyes darting to the window for a moment before she looked back to the other girl

"You should meet up with Hyde- I mean, trainer Kale, whenever he gets back from break. He's an odikinetic and a pretty strong one at that." you definitely knew you went to a school for freaks whenever one teacher's job was literally to tick you off to see how you and your powers reacted whenever you were under severe amounts of stress. She personally didn't mind because it only made her faster but more reckless. Reckless was something she could live with though. It made life in this tiny town as interesting as it was going to get it seemed.

Nix raised an eyebrow at that comment and tilted her head, she didnt know a lot of people and that was a name that was missed on her. She sighed and nodded, a trainer on controlling her emotions would be a good idea and most likely would be something she was put in to but she hated the idea of someone trying to make her angry. She had seen what happened when she was angry and she didnt want to hurt people like that, she was happy to hurt those who deserved it and she had done many a time but those who didnt......

The other girl seemed to think to herself for a moment and nix took this to calm herself, taking a deep breath and then expelling it as a shadow in the form of the mist around her hand. She could feel the slight buzz as it was gone and she felt much better for it, the other issue she had was when she doubted herself or any of those sorts of things then they would hang around in her and just get worse. It made depression and very big worry but she would fight it off, she always had done and she always would.

Danielle looked around the room for a minute and decided that she was getting bored with just sitting around. Stupid homework could wait until later. "Come on, let's get out of here and head over to the training center. You don't have to finish that for a few more days." Standing up, she threw the pencil back on the desk and turned to leave, almost forgetting that she didn't know if the other person would follow her or not. Instead of stopping instantly, she waited until she was at the door to turn around and gauge the situation.

Nix watched the other girl look around before the red head raised an eyebrow at the comment offered to her, a chance to avoid more maths work? "Count me in, no maths and aggression work out" she said with a smirk as she pushed herself up on to her feet and started after the other girl, the red head did pause and wonder if she should go back and get her book but it would be here or be turned in when she needed it. She looked back to see the other girl waiting, nix gave a smirk at this and started forwards again and then paused beisde the door and the other girl. She nodded to her, not going in to words for the reason she had no idea what else to add in this situation
