School always sucks. I think it's kinda a cosmic rule that it has to. Melanie teased, ordering a water to start. Eventually she'd find something more interesting but right now she could care less about food or anything like that. So...any cool plans now that the semester is almost done? I kinda talked to the owner of that bar and whenever the students come back he's supposed to call us for another gig. That was exciting at least. It took her mind off of all the crazy family drama.

Raelynn narrowed her eyes skeptically, "A story?" She asked, frowning for a moment before shrugged and letting it go, "I guess it's true that you weren't here for that whole thing..." She tapped the table with a manicured finger as she thought about where she would even begin to tell that story. Opening her mouth, Raelynn started from what seemed like a logical spot in her mind.
"So there is this guy..." She said, looking up and trying to keep her face straight and unfeeling through the entire ordeal, "His name is Gemini and at the end of last summer he and I and a few other friends all went to Vegas together." Was this the best place to start? She couldn't tell, "There is...was just something about him I couldn't shake. He is a player, like the worst possible kind of player, and I wasn't much better at that point." If she felt guilty about it, Melanie would only be able to tell by reading her mind, "But I just couldn't stop....thinking about him? I don't know. It sounds crazy now. The more she told the story though, the more it sounded like some of the bits and pieces she had been putting together on the chat. Still, she wanted to hear it from rae. Okay, so you fell for the player. I get that. we don't always pick the people who are best for us, you know? She wanted to give Rae the example of how she used to feel about Braxton, but that wasn't a story with a happy ending. Now he hated her and she reciprocated the feeling for the most part. I chose not to come back here with them because I thought maybe that would make me forget about all that stupid love crap and I could go back to just being me. I hated him for making me love him." Her voice was bitter, yet soft, and she wasn't sure how she had simultaneously achieved both tones, "But of course that didn't help at all and I ended up coming back to Calloway to find him." She said in a bummed voice, "But I'm not even halfway done with this story so sit back and grab some popcorn because it's a bumpy ride." She said in a voice like she was narrating a movie trailer, "So I get back to Calloway and he is all...a thing...with this other girl. At the time, I didn't know who it was and didn't actually think it could have been serious. I wasn't even gone two months and he was such a sleeze before, ya know? I mean he seriously tried to marry a stripper." It is kind of funny how they all ended up being connected like that, "So we made out a little and I was all 'aaahhhh' again. But because he had a girlfriend it was so confusing. And then I found out that girlfriend thing was Dani." Raelynn looked down at her now empty glass of water and paused her story when the waitress came by and refilled the cup and asked Melanie if she was hungry or wanted anything to drink. |

Raelynn couldn't tell if she felt guilty about all of that, but her feelings were so confused she didn't know what she felt.
