In all seriousness, she should have been really torn up about the whole thing. I mean, who isn't at least a little traumatized when their own mother tries to kill them? I am Just a Man My voice will be heard today | Rich hadn't really been doing anything. At least nothing that he couldn't pull away from at the time so when his phone lit up. He had been concerned about his sister but was so far out of the loop that he didn't know where to start. A simple distraction was what he needed. He texted back: So what kind do you want? Rae seemed cool so he figured she would provide a nice distraction. Rich grabbed his keys and headed out his dorm to his bike. He rode off to the store waiting for a text back to figure out what to bring. After grabbing the cookies he headed back to the specified dorm. It didn't take long to walk up the stairs and knock on her door, He did hesitated and looked over to his sisters dorm room but figured it was best not to worry right then. Everything was fine right? |

The brand new Galaxy Edge+ was exactly like her old phone, only less melted. Raelynn pulled herself out of bed, her knees wobbling as she dug into her closet and found an outfit that looked less like she had been a creepy, lazy hermit for the last week. He was fine with casual flirting but he figured he grew wiser with age. He was a bit more selective now a days with who he was with unless it was just a simple one night stand and there was no chance he would ever see the person again. That was the other thing. Because he did't care which gender it had gotten him in some scrapes here and there.
"You would be correct. It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance. Double stuffed as per requested" his voice was soothing and overly calm. Talking with people was defiantly his strong suit. The charming smile, calm demeanor made him appearing to be very trusting. |

The familiar warmth that seemed to flutter in her rib cage like a pilot light suddenly felt cold and empty. Of course, she chalked this up to just being tired and still stupid weak from her recent injuries.
Grinning, Raelynn grabbed the cookies and pretending like she was going to close the door in his face. Giggling, she left it open a crack and jumped on her bed, starting to feel incredibly tired but not wanting to admit that she was any weaker than usual.
As she cuddled back into her pillow, the familiar warmth reappeared and spread across her entire body. She crossed her legs on the bed and set the Oreos down in her lap, "Want some?" She asked, pulling the package open and offering it to him. It was the most polite thing to do considering a near perfect stranger with a distant and vague connection to her arch-nemisis/best friend's roommate actually took time out of his life to come to her dorm with food and no reason to believe that he would get anything in return for the trouble.
Why was her life so stupid and complicated? Just once she would like to have a normal relationship with someone that didn't have all these strings attached. You know, the kind of relationship with a friend where they actually like you when they meet you, instead of being forced to learn how to tolerate you like Dani and Becca both did, and Liam. He wasn't angry, in fact it was nice to be around someone with a sense of humor. He did like the idea of having a friend here other than Virg that wasn't expecting anything or wasn't judging him because of his past with his sister. Was that really too hard to ask? He walked into the room, closing the door behind him. He gratefully declined the offer. "All yours"
He pulled a chair around and took a seat. "Wasn't really busy or anything. I take it you are feeling better?" He asked looking her over. He wondered what her ability entailed. He was still getting used to the whole turning on and off his abilities. He knew it was possible but if he wasn't aware of what was going on it was just there naturally like some aurora. One that inhibited powers. |

It wasn't till she started waving her hand and starting to panic that it dawned on him. "Oh wow really sorry about that. Still getting my powers under control" He explained. Rich concentrated on putting his powers into a box and closing it. It was the only way for him to really visualize it. Considering his abilities didn't really have a color or physical form it was hard to get a good mental image. He looked over to Rae.
"How do you feel now?" He asked concerned that he might have hurt her in some way. "Powers of Negation. I never know when they are on or off. Terribly sorry about that" Rich really hoped he could get things under control. He was doing alright but he knew it was going to take some time. |

It was still impressed with other abilities. There were so many things humans were capable of. It was really quite something to be apart of that environment where everyone was learning to control a power that would usually be only scene in science fiction or comics.
"So Ms. Rae. Tell me something about yourself. I don't really know much except for the little we chatted online" He asked starting up a conversation. He knew that ladies usually liked to talk about themselves so he figured giving Rae the floor was the best way to start of a possible friendship. |

He didn't mean it but after spending almost five years of school in England it was hard to not have one sometimes. He was usually very good at keeping his american accent but every now and then the English one would slip out.
"Everyone has a story and I can fully understand not wanting to talk about it. However I can not believe that someone with your singing voice and good looks doesn't have something interesting to tell" He was being fully honest and did hope that he didn't come off in a creepy way or like he was trying to flirt with her. Considering his own sister and how he was the one to get her to talk he figured she would never had uttered a word if he hadn't so he could believe it. He made no change to his expression. "I can believe that" He watched her face closely wondering how she would take his answer. He figured most didn't find her tale believable. But knowing what he did now about his own family he could only imagine how others were. Parent were suppose to support their children but he constantly saw them thrown aside or treated in the worst possible way. He was lucky, others not so much. |
