His ability works best through contact. He can negate others abilities if they are within three yards of him but it doesn't last very long and it takes more energy to do that. It is almost like a negating field. However if he is in contact with that person their powers are useless if he chooses. He can turn the power on and off at will. He can keep this up for a few hours. Granted he has to be touching the person. It does take energy to use the ability so if he is tiered or run down it doesn't work as well and sometimes not at all. If he uses it too long it can cause severe headaches and make him sick.

"I am terribly sorry to hear that your mother was down right crazy. Well something got you out otherwise I do not think you would be here" He asked. He didn't want to seem like he was pushing for information. He was curious now. Part of him wished his own sister was as open about every as Rae seemed to be. They both had similar mother issues.
"You should swap mother horrors with my sister. I am sure you both could get a laugh out of it" Rich didn't mean to say it out loud but he was used to speaking his mind in such situations. . |

Raelynn has the ability to control and manipulate fire and heat. She is completely heat resistant. She can create fire, but it is easier, right now, for her to use fire that is already created to play with, hence the lighter. Raelynn is weak against cold weather, ice, and water which puts a damper on her power. She has to have sufficient oxygen to control fire and if, for some reason, she were suffocating, her power would instantly be harder to control.
She can use a small flame and, from that, create more fire far more easily than create fire from nothing. Raelynn can use her power as much as she wants, at least she will be able to after practicing at Ashford.

I do apologize if that was how it was read. From experience I have noticed that people who have suffered it is helpful to talk to someone who can empathize because they have had similar experiences. Both were terrible in their own right and neither are better or worse then the other" Rich took a pause wanting to gauge how she was going to react. Having someone with pyro abilities getting angry didn't seem like the ideal situation. He wasn't there to make her mad just to provide some company. Having a friend around was necessary and he didn't want to make anymore mistakes like when he first arrived. |

For the most part, Raelynn is over it, She doesn't let it bother her often enough for it to be debilitating and it gets easier everyday to put the past behind her. But her recent run in with her mother set her back a little bit and she decided to blame her out burst on that, "Yeah maybe." She conceded. Not really caring to talk about it anymore. Rich decided to drop the topic. Best not to keep on about things that didn't really matter at the time. "Ok so what do you want to do? Movie, game, I could totally leave if you would like" He offered more in a playful voice. He had a soft grin on his face wondering what Ms. Raelynn was in the mood for. He would just continue just asking questions but didn't want to tread on some wound that had yet to heal. He knew to pick his conversation carefully. Especially here. He learned the hard way with Danielle and he wasn't about to make the same mistake.
