She had been back in Calloway for about a week since her month and a half sojourn to Las Vegas. Raelynn was sitting on her knees on the lawn in the exactly spot where she had first met Gemini. he hadn't spoken to him since he had waved the limo off, choosing to stay in Vegas rather than go back to Calloway. And since that moment, she has been tormented with the question of whether not not to text him.
So now he was back, and she was playing with the fire, looking at the circle where the grass was slightly sorter from where it had been burnt to the roots last time she'd been here. in her other hand was her cell phone. She was starring at his name, the picture she had saved for him filling the screen. He had a goofy smile on his face, per usual, and just over his shoulder she saw that red headed stripper leaning over the counter of a Vegas speedy chapel. She let out a heavy sigh and tossed the phone in the grass a few feet away, his face still on the bright LED screen. Behind her, the sun was setting, making her dancing flames the only real source of light on the lawn. |

Gemini strolled across Zellner lawn hands shoved in the pockets of his leather jacket. He was on his way to meet Jasper in the music room for dinner though he wasn't looking forward to it. His father had been less than pleased with his little week long vacation with Dani, at this rate his dad was never going to let him have that motorcycle. He caught the flicker of a flame on the lawn and the thought immediately brought back thoughts of the night he had met Raelynn. He might consider it one of his favorite moments of all time, It had been both awkward when he found out she wasn't Becca but also amazing since it was the first time he met the only girl who could keep him on his toes.
The memory was a little bitter sweet since Raelynn had chosen to stay in Vegas. He kicked himself for suggesting it in the first place. He hadn't talked to her since then, not that it mattered. He didn't miss her right? one half of the twins was enough for Ashford. As he got closer he noticed familiar blonde hair. He was a little shocked No Way, It Can't be. He felt the familiar jolt of electricity run through him when it finally sunk in that it was indeed Raelynn. He quickly debated whether he should say something or keep walking, but they weren't on bad terms right? She stared at him for a moment, considering the slim possibility that he also had the power to summon people. Smirking, she finally was back in the zone, "You know, I think you prowl the lawn every night hoping to find a poor defenseless little girl to take advantage of. This is the second time you've been caught." Laughing she dropped her hands and let the fire die out in the air above her. This movement, though, was honestly so that she could shift herself and try to cover up the fact that his picture was on her phone. |

Oh Hardee Har Har. You're the lame one, you move all the way to Vegas just to turn around and sit on the lawn at lame ass Ashford prowling for men. He saw the glow of her cellphone but didn't bother to pay attention to what was on it. For your information I was actually on my way to meet someone. There was no way he was meeting Jasper now, he knew he should go but it was Raelynn, and that pull was there again he couldn't bring himself to leave even if he wanted to. He pulled out his phone to shoot his dad and text. When he pressed the button to unlock his phone the picture of the girl staring back at him made him feel guilty, maybe he should go meet Jasper afterall.

Not completely true...yes he had a ton of offers, but she turned down every single one. Not that that had anything to do with Gemini because it totally and completely didn't. That would be silly.
When he said he was meeting someone, she instantly felt a little weird. She didn't want to use the word jealous, because that would mean....stuff...but it sure felt like what all the movies describe as jealousy, "Oh yeah?" She tilted her head to the side to try and feign interest, "You meeting a girllll?" She teased, moving her leg to kick him lightly, "Well don't let little old me hold you up." She winked, "I wouldn't want to stand between you and your prowling." Yes she would. She totally wanted to stand between him and the prowling. She couldn't help but narrowed her eyes. Raelynn didn't have a comeback. He was right. She did like being graced. It was freakishly annoying, in all honestly. This was very, very, very, unlike Raelynn. She sighed and turned on her side to face away from Gemini. For some reason she could feel herself falling apart. She couldn't be anything but snarky with Gemini. She needed to pull it together and fight to urge to reach for his hand. Raelynn sat up and sighed, "Oh Gemini, you should know by now that no one will ever really have me." She smiled even though the words were actually kind of depressing. She swiped at each name and deleted the text before even opening it, "There has only really been one guy I've been interested in and I'm basically invisible to him. He didn't even want to sleep with me when I offered. You know how crazy that is? That never happens to me!" She grinned, laughing at her own comment and hoping it wasn't too terrible obvious she was talking about him. She thought the situation was common enough for other people that may he would assume she was talking about someone else, "But like I said, no one could have me anyway. I'm far too independent." Independent had been the word her friends in California has used to describe her when they didn't want to say 'detatched' or 'ice queen'. Raelynn wasn't stupid, though. She knew what they meant. She didn't have enough of a heart to really be with anyone. Not that it was really her fault. Just a product of her raising.

He understood what she meant though, He had Dani and yet his poor girlfriend like thing had, had to come to accept that sometimes She couldn't come over because there was already another girl there even though he tried to be monogamous. Well I guess that's why we just click. He mumbled Raelynn sometimes did remind him of the female version of himself, which means he could be really frustrating. He felt the obnoxious feeling of his heart sinking when she said there was one guy she was interested in, though they had a similar encounter he had really wanted to sleep with her, it was her falling asleep on him that had kept it from happening, though he wasn't sure what had kept them from hooking up in Vegas. He raised his eyebrows at her, he didn't know why he was surprised it was Raelynn after all. He felt the familiar pounding in his chest when She leaned in close to him. He eyed the red lips that he wanted to kiss and the neck he'd give his left arm to trail kisses down. He could sleep with her if she was willing, she wouldn't have been the first he'd taken home since he and Dani had started their thing, but this wasn't some girl. This was Raelynn and as much as he wanted to ignore it the fire he felt every time she touched him was very much there. Once she got her hands on him he might not want her to let go. Aurora's stupid text messages flashed through his head, He didn't want to do that to Dani and He didn't want to prove Aurora right. I'm kind of seeing someone.. sorta.. He whispered not sure he wanted her to actually hear it.

Raelynn looked down, unable to keep the look of confusion and slight hurt off her face, "Well, then..." She smiled sadly at him and moved to stand up, "I should be going. It's getting late and I am hear to visit Becca." She cupped one of his cheeks in her hand and kissed the other lightly. Wiping away the red lipstick mark left on his face, "It was nice to see you again." She stood up and stretched, getting ready to go. |
