The baby bird comment through her off. She didn't have any pet names, well no one gave her any. The name she went by was her only real nickname. That and Sil which her older brother called her but there were two reasons for that. When they were little her mother hated any mentioning of Raven's name so her older brother refereed to her as Sil and when they got older she would call him Sal. So it was this Sil Sal thing going on. But she never had a pet name. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not either. In many ways the name fit, she was just a baby bird still learning to fly.
She just ignored it trying not to think too much on the whole thing. Raven took her turn with no luck getting any of the cue balls in. That was alright she wasn't exactly focused on the game itself. "Then I guess this game is going to be a long one" She said as she took a sip of her drink. "That or very comical" She added.

Ralph's powers are actually that of Animal Morphing but he has yet to actually fully morph so it seems like its mere mimicry. Currently his abilities mean he has heightened senses, sight, hearing and scent.He also is highly sensitive to emotions and feelings (you've guessed it, yes be can smell fear). His powers are in the process of development and he's soon going to do the full morph. He's obviously very hairy from the power and he's also got many Wolf like quirks for example he will fight to gain dominance and if you win he is submissive. He sleeps curled up and will chase a ball if thrown to him. Another note is that Ralph is a carnivore and he eats ten times more than any eighteen year old does, he won't eat vegetables willingly. Also he's not allowed to have raw meat even slightly under cooked because it risks making him feral. He's also stronger than most eighteen years old and fitter with sharper reflexes but he's fairly easy to defeat when necessary, tranquilizers work very well.

It suited her not only because a Raven was a type of bird but because she was small and delicate just like a baby bird would be. "So have you thought anymore about that bucketlist?" Ralph asked with a smile. Although it seemed her year got more interesting without it.
"Probably both." Ralph got a cue stick shortly after Raven took her shot, Ralph took his turn managing to sink a red, solid cue ball. He then took another shot and didn't sink anything, he really hadn't played in a long time. "I should make a bucketlist of my own."

The bucket list. Now that was something she had tried to write things down for but gave up after the first one. "Nothing else to be honest. It did think about it though but with how quickly things change writing down superficial wishes seemed a bit inconsequential. Not that the idea of a bucket list was mundane or trivial but maybe I thought too much on the whole thing" She replied. She didn't want to make Ralph feel bad about suggesting it and she did try to give it a shot. A tattoo was realistic but everything else she came up with just didn't seem truly realistic.
"You should. I would love to see what you come up with" Raven turned the subject back on Ralph as she took a shot. She was able to get one of the striped balls into the cue but nothing else. She didn't care to much about it. It was just a game. The only reason for being here was for a distraction. And so far it seemed to be working.

Ralph smiled, "Maybe you did indeed think to much on it." Ralph agreed but he couldn't think of anything else to put on it since his head was all over the place lately. "Sleeping under the stars that's a good one." Ralph suggested although it may be a bit cold at the moment to do that. He had already done it, granted he can't remember since he was a Wolf at the time but he'd definitely slept out in the open. He did wake up wrapped around Dani in the park after all. "It was a stupid idea really." Ralph added. Who really wanted to do daft little things when you had so many other things going on.
"Oh how about Turn into a Wolf. Oh wait I've already done that." Ralph was joking but his voice just a little bitter, Ralph took another shot again sinking nothing. In the grand scheme of things this didn't matter to him just as is didn't matter to Raven. "So Baby Bird, how's training going?" Ralph asked again switching the focus to her.

"You are probably right. I tend to over think things anyway" The sleeping under the stars thing was nice if she hadn't already done that. She shook her head when he mentioned the turning into a wolf. She was still smiling but she really had to try hard to do so when the wolf was mentioned. It wasn't that it bothered her it was just that all the issues with Dani and Ralph seemed to be centered around that wolf. She was still over thinking things, that was not going to end soon.
Another topic change. The lessons. "Intense. But that was to be expected of the nature of such training" Raven was very to the point on the subject. She didn't need to go into the details of the training. She didn't want to. Ralph had too much on his mind than worry about her training with Kale. "What about you?" She half regretted asking the question but it kind of slipped out. She still wasn't used to the attention focused on her.

Thinking about things meant you didn't do stupid things or cause more problems than necessary, Ralph could do with thinking a little more about things. Although most of the stuff he did was because of instincts that are from the Wolf side of him.
Ralph wandered if Raven coped okay with Kale's training since Ralph was sure he was determined to drive his students mad with fear. He didn't ask any further though, Raven would tell him if she needed to or wanted to. "Intense as you said." Ralph responded he was certain Kale had something against him but he wasn't going to into that. "Although if Kale's not careful and if shift things could get ugly very fast."

"His teaching methods might be a little unorthodox but overall I do like him as a teacher. He is also not a bad person" Raven did like learning from Kale. Sure it was really hard with his class and she wasn't sure she really belonged in the class itself. She had been living her fear for over twelve years before arriving at the school. It was always just a reminder of that but a bit worse since she was loosing all she gained from being at the school. As hard as it was she still felt the sessions were useful.
She didn't like the idea of the wolf attacking Asher, or anyone for that matter. "Yeah that is something we are going to have to work un, isn't it" She asked looking at the pool table rather than Ralph.

His fears were tied into the wolf's need for a pack. So maybe having the Wolf make an appearance would be such a bad thing if it didn't tear Kale up, whatever the Trainer could handle it.
"Definitely, I don't mind it hurting Kale because he deserves it but I don't think I could live with myself if it hurt someone else." Ralph said, they were back on the subject they'd been trying to get distracted from but maybe they needed to talk about it.

It was true that their teachers methods were a bit unorthodox but it was just his style. Also considering what is power was she could understand why. Raven noticed that even when talking to Dani that the conversation would always return to the very thing that they were trying to avoid. She was playing with her fires trying to think of the right thing to say. "You still love her, don't you Sure it wasn't addressing the problem but she wanted to ease into the conversation. She took her turn and missed but she wasn't focused on the game. She was more concerned with Ralph.

Raven's question surprised him a little, he didn't answer right away. The answer was simple but Ralph wasn't sure if expressing that was such a good idea. He turned to take his shot and potted two balls. "I can't get her out of my mind." Ralph said. It was the truth, he couldn't get her out of mind in the day and at night she was in his dreams or nightmares whichever one was occurring. Ralph sighed, "I haven't slept." He decided it was only fair to open up to Raven since she was helping him.

She knew it. She also knew that it was going to only get harder from here. So was the life of those who had power. Raven nodded her understanding before speaking. "You don't want to be around her because you don't want to hurt her if the wolf takes over. So the only logical choice is to train yourself till you feel confidant enough not to lose control" Raven wondered exactly how that would work. She would love to talk with the wolf but wasn't sure if it was the right time for that. She figured that she would get the chance eventually and would just wait for the wolf to appear to talk to him. "I will help you train if you want but I can't really give very good relationship advice but I can try" Raven offered. It was really all she could do in this situation.

Its just I'm trying to get used to whole thing first. I don't even know what triggers it." and by it he meant the shifting. He was pretty sure it was his heart rate at first but his most recent shifts said otherwise. "I'm going to go back to coach Bash and see if he can help me figure out the trigger first." he didn't think training with Raven or Dani was such a good idea just yet but he gave her a smile to show he appreciated the offer. He needed to back to the basics.
"It okay, I don't have a relationship to advise about and I might keep it that way." Ralph said with a sad smile, yes relationship were just to complicated especially because of his party pooping Alter-ego.

HER POWER TO TALK WITH ANIMALS IS MORE OF THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THEM. ANIMALS SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND HUMAN SPEECH AND HER MIND CAN TRANSLATE ANIMAL SPEECH TO SOMETHING SHE CAN UNDERSTAND. IT JUST HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY AND SHE CAN'T EXACTLY CUT IT OFF BUT JUST LIKE TALKING WITH A PERSON SHE HAS TO BE WITHIN EARSHOT TO UNDERSTAND THE CREATURES. SHE CAN GET VERY CONFUSED ON WHO SHE IS TALKING WITH OR WHERE A CONVERSATION IS COMING FROM IF SHE HAPPENS TO BE IN EARSHOT OF SOME ANIMAL.
CONTROLLING IS A BIT DIFFERENT. IT ISN'T A SPOKEN COMMAND IT IS MORE OF A MENTAL ONE. IT TAKES TOTAL CONCENTRATION AND SHE CAN'T CONTROL AN ANIMAL FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR, NOT THAT SHE WANTS TO. ANY LONGER AND IT CAUSES MASSIVE HEADACHES, NOSE BLEEDS AND IN SOME CASES SHE WILL PASS OUT BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN TILL THE TWO HOUR MARK. THE SIMPLER THE COMMAND THE EASIER IT IS TO CONTROL THE ANIMALS. RAVEN PREFERS TO JUST ASK THE ANIMAL IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN CONTROL THEM. IF HER CONCENTRATION IS BROKEN SHE LOOSES CONTROL.

"That would be a good start" Going to Bash would be the best way to begin on the training. Knowing the training would certainly help. "You also need to make a conscious effort to try and control the instincts and emotions. If you gain better control shifting itself might become eaiser and you won't have much problems with memory loss. At least that is the theroy" Raven suggested. She knew her friend was impulsive and emotion driven. If he worked on keeping those actions under control he might be able to keep the transformation under control. Especially if he find out it is emotionally driven. Raven thought about other ways to help out but she had nothing until she spoke with the wolf. She figured if she could get both sides then she might be able to help more. She wasn't going to push it. The best thing she could do right now was just be there.

ANIMAL MORPHING (WOLF) |
Ralph's powers are actually that of Animal Morphing but he has yet to actually fully morph so it seems like its mere mimicry. Currently his abilities mean he has heightened senses, sight, hearing and scent.He also is highly sensitive to emotions and feelings (you've guessed it, yes be can smell fear). His powers are in the process of development and he's soon going to do the full morph. He's obviously very hairy from the power and he's also got many Wolf like quirks for example he will fight to gain dominance and if you win he is submissive. He sleeps curled up and will chase a ball if thrown to him. Another note is that Ralph is a carnivore and he eats ten times more than any eighteen year old does, he won't eat vegetables willingly. Also he's not allowed to have raw meat even slightly under cooked because it risks making him feral. He's also stronger than most eighteen years old and fitter with sharper reflexes but he's fairly easy to defeat when necessary, tranquilizers work very well.

The instincts that he often gave in to were part of the Wolf Alter-ego, it wasn't something he'd ever be able to stop, or at least he didn't think he could. Finding the trigger was definitely something he wanted to get down to as soon as he could. "It seems to get triggered by my emotions but I wasn't angry the first time I shifted, just hungry." Ralph said thinking the whole thing over. "Please tell me its not triggered by my stomach!"[/b He was joking of course just to lighten the mood a little. "Thanks for your help Raven. This thing is definitely going to take time."

Maybe control wasn't the right word. Well if he had control of the wolf then the wolf instincts would be under control. She didn't want him to suppress them because if something happened and he couldn't suppress the wolf anymore then it could be another incident like before only worse. It was not the situation she wanted to be in. But she wasn't going to abandon the only friends she had. So there was no getting rid of her now. "I hope not" Raven laughed. Triggered by hunger. Ralph was always hungry. "It will work itself out. Just time, a lot of time" She responded. Her voice was kind of distant as she was lost in her own thoughts.
