Can't be sure when they've hit their mark
A week of training and classes had left Dani exhausted and ready for the weekend. When one of the girls had suggested dinner off campus in Calloway, she had jumped on it without a second thought. The campus food wasn't bad, but the pizza left something to be desired.
Once the girls had left to go home, Dani made her way back to Calloway park to spend some time alone. It only took about five minutes in the quiet, dark place before she got bored enough to want to leave, but something stopped her. Maybe it was a gut feeling or some sort of instinct, but something here felt wrong.
Heading in the direction of a small copse of trees, she looked around for a minute trying to find what was bothering her. It was empty, so maybe everything was just in her head. Obviously he park was completely unoccupied and she had watched way too many horror movies with Gemini this week.
And besides in the mean, mean time

Ralph didn't know why but in the last hour his already fine tuned senses went into overdrive, he had to turn his dorm light off so that it wasn't hurting his eyes. Something was definitely wrong but Ralph just got on with some homework in an attempt to forget about it. It took ten minutes before Ralph gave up, he had to get out of his dorm with the many scents that assaulted his nostrils. Grabbing his jacket he headed out to Calloway Park, it was quiet this late at night and the scents were natural and fresh. The second he stepped into the park his strong sense of smell locked onto the scent of a rabbit. Suddenly there was a stinging sensation a over his body and Ralph let out a shout at the pain that it was causing. Human Ralph was no longer stood in Calloway Park, in his place was a larger than average Wolf with black markings that were the same as Ralph's tattoo. The Wolf started chasing a rabbit and before long the rabbit was lifeless in his jaws. Another scent caught the wolfs attention, a familiar female scent. Ralph followed it to a cluster of trees, where he spotted Dani. He stood looking at her for a moment and when he tried to speak it came out a weird vocalisation similar to a bark.  every step you take

The sound of a growl resonated behind her, making dani turn to face whatever dog had wandered in to the park. Only it wasn't a dog, it was a very large wolf. For some reason she didn't feel like it was threatening her, but Dani turned to run nonetheless. The only problem was that the exit was directly beside him, meaning that she had to go around him to get out. As she did though, she got close enough to notice something in the wolf's fur: markings, similar to Ralph's tattoo. It stopped her in her tracks as she turned to face it again.
"Ralph?" She asked tentatively, reaching a hand out towards the wolf but stopping short. It was difficult to believe, but the thing in front of her might actually be her big guy. |

Ralph wanted to stop Dani running away from him and the ask her what on earth was going on but he currently had no actual voice just a series of growls, whines and yelps. That was after he'd dropped the dead rabbit. He kept his eyes on her as she went around him to get to the exit. He wandered why she stopped all of a sudden, he hadn't done anything but follow her with his eyes to see where she was going. When she said his name Ralph felt relieved, she knew it was him. He moved his head gently towards her hand until his snout was under her palm. He let out a whine before lying down, his head was aching and so was his body. It didn't help that Dani was all grey, black and white. every step you take

Oookay, so her boyfriend was a wolf. No big deal, right? Other than the fact that she had absolutely no idea how this had happened and whether or not his instincts would allow him to completely recognize her. They had worked so hard on getting him to realize that he wasn't allowed to dominate her in day to day circumstances that she was almost scared of what might happen if she moved wrong. If his instincts took over, coul he hurt her? A sick feeling in dani's stomachs told her that the answer was a resounding yes until proven otherwise.
Moving slowly, she dropped down to her knees beside him and placed her hand on his head in a show of trust. Hopefully this worked. "Hey big guy. What happened to you?" she whispered soothingly, her hands moving up and down his sides in an attempt to calm the distressed wolf. |

Ralph himself had no idea what was going on and it felt weird almost like he was underwater everything was wrong and he didn't like it. Ralph was lying down for now but what if this didn't last, right now he was thinking like human Ralph but what if instincts took over and he hurt Dani. He scooted back from her a little bit as a precaution. Her hand on his head was providing a little comfort. Something felt wrong again and suddenly he snapped at Dani's hand that was running up and down his sides. He stood back up, the Alpha Wolf was back and he wasn't to impressed that Ralph had been so submissive to the human female. every step you take

Ralph's snarl startled her. Dani had thought he was calming down, but apparently things were only getting worse. There was a primitive look about him now that there hadn't been before and her heart sank at the realization that this could be it. It was too late for her to run though: she was on the ground and he was likely too fast for that anyways. Tears formed at the back of her eyes, not for her but for Ralph. If he snapped out of it too late, what would that do to him?
As a last ditch effort, Dani decided to try talking to him again. Maybe if she said the right things, the alpha side of him would recognize her as his current mate instead of a threat that needed dealt with. "Big guy, please. I'm scared babe, I'm sorry." She had never used a nickname for him other than big guy, but other than that she had steered clear of pet names for the most part. Her eyes dropped to the ground and she slouched down, attempting to look as submissive as humanly possible.

It seemed that Female who was called Dani, was definitely surprised by his snarling. This was a sign that she definitely wasn't going to try and become Alpha over him. It was good. He had long ago dismissed the female as a threat, she was tiny and could quiet easily be taken care of. He wasn't in the least threatened by her and her tiny human frame. He stayed stood still for a while and took in her scent, this human female was Ralph's mate. So he couldn't kill her or harm her. The words she spoke made no sense to the wolf but he could definitely tell she was scared. Although still not as submissive as Ralph had been the Wolf sat down in front of the now cowering female, just to show he wasn't going to hurt her. every step you take

The wolf sitting down was a good sign, but for some reason she still didn't feel quite safe. How was she supposed to get Ralph back now? The entire thing felt completely hopeless, like she couldn't reach him if she tried. Maybe there was a way to trigger his more human instincts, but she had done that already. All that had succeeded in was getting him to stand down temporarily.
"Can you hear me in there? Because I'd really like to talk to Ralph. I know your probably a little scared and confused, but I think if you just calmed down and focused that you could shift back." She was still laying against the ground, her eyes averted and her voice low. He could still hear her, she knew that much from previous experience, but it wasn't the same as if she talked at a normal level. Maybe she needed to walk away and call someone from the school to help, or Raven at the least. Maybe she could manipulate him in to shifting back if he didn't soon.
And besides in the mean, mean time

Ralph wasn't sure what had happened or how to reverse it but he knew had to. Especially if he wanted Dani to stay, she seemed pretty freaked out by the whole thing. Thankfully it seemed that his stupid Wolf Alter-ego or whatever it was didn't want to harm Dani which was a start. Ralph heard Dani's words this time, and he tried to focus but it seemed to make no change to the fact that he was now a Wolf. He took a few deep breaths and tried to slow his heart rate down, maybe that would do the trick. every step you take

Nothing seemed to have outwardly changed, so Dani decided to switch tactics. Without another word, she moved to where she was laying down directly in front of the enormous wolf, her face directly beside his muzzle. Hot breath brushed across her cheek as she rolled over to face him slightly. "Fine. If you're staying, I will too." She whispered, closing her eyes and pretending to sleep. She knew it wouldn't fool him, but at least it wasn't as bad as looking him in the eye the whole time.

Ralph looked at Dani as she lay down in front of him and her face inches from the his muzzle. wait since when did I have a muzzle, or huge paws. Ralph thought as he glanced down. If he could Ralph would've laughed at Dani's pretending to be asleep, because she honestly wasn't fooling anyone. He sniffed Dani for a second before nudging her with his muzzle, he knew she wasn't asleep but falling asleep out here would be a bad idea. every step you take

If I thought we could get you back in the dorms then I would get some place warmer." it was a good thing she had worn a jacket or she would freeze to death out here before they could get anything solved. Maybe she would just keep talking so she wouldn't fall asleep. "so, I have training with Kale this week. Some sort of group thing. Are you going?" Maybe that wasn't the best idea now. He was out of control, he could hurt them this time.

Ralph didn't feel cold, but that was probably explained by the thick fur that made up his wolf forms pelt. Ralph stepped a little closer to Dani so that he was close enough to her her warm. He felt his heart rate slow considerably and he felt just a little sleepy. He ended up giving a large yawn before giving Dani an almost bark in response to her question since his human voice box couldn't tell her yes. every step you take
