It had only taken about half an hour for Dani to get her plan figured out and the tickets bought. They'd have two days to get to San Diego and hopefully by the time they got back her little stalker problem would have moved on for the time being. All her problems would be solved and the whole "we didn't get to celebrate your birthday" crisis would officially have been averted. With her sunglasses in place on top of her head and a quick message to both her brother and father, Dani grabbed her bags and headed in the direction of Gem's car in the parking lot. Hopefully he wouldn't think she was completely crazy for coming up with something like this. Granted she probably was, but somebody had to keep the faith. Her mental checklist was ticked off one item at a time, other than things like drinks and snacks that they'd just have to pick up on the way. Hopefully they ran in to a starbucks. Gemini finished packing his stuff in his backpack hoping he'd have enough clothes to last where ever Dani had decided they were going. He made his bed and grabbed his car keys off the desk along with his aviators. He gave his room one last glance before closing the dorm room door and locking it behind him. He had his car keys in one hand and his cell phone in the other as he shot his dad a text to let him know he was leaving town, in reality he didn't have to. He was a grown man after all, but it was the nice thing to do. He slid the sunglasses onto his face as he exited out the door of the hall. Once he arrived at the car, he unlocked it and pulled the back door open and tossed his backpack in the back seat. He slammed the doors shut and leaned up against the car, hands shoved in the pockets of his jeans while he waited for Dani to arrive. The prospect of getting out of Calloway in the next few minutes had greatly improved Dani's mood. By the time she actually walked up to the Mazda and threw her bag in to the back seat beside Gem's, she had managed a smile again. As soon as they were gone, they'd be great for at least two weeks. Hey baby. She greeted, leaning up to give him a soft kiss. This was definitely what she needed, even if he still seemed hesitant. I think we're all good, unless you want to stop and get snackage before we go, and that's in town. I've got everything else. So what if she was being cryptic. It wouldn't hurt him...right now.

Well, San Diego is like 18 hours away according to mapquest so I'm pretty sure we're going to want to sleep at some point. So however long you want to drive. We don't need to be there for like two days. She replied with a bright smile, turning on some upbeat song she didn't quite know and starting to dance along as they drove. See, this is better. What were we going to do back there other than be bored and wait for someone to throw a party that you'd eventually have to take over to make it not lame. San diego is allllll you need to worry about. She drawled, watching the trees fly by out the window. She stayed silent like that all the way though Calloway, even when they passed the drive to her father's place. Before she knew it, an hour had passed by in comfortable silence, other than the radio playing whatever Gem's phone put on next since she really didn't care to change it. So, are you ready for your classes to start up? I mean, now that you can't legit skip them all the time. That was probably what was going to mess with him the most. He definitely liked his sleep and those 8 a.m. classes were liable to kick his butt.

Part of her wanted to look over and see how fast gem was driving, because she was pretty sure they were closer to the stopping point she'd calculated than she wanted to admit. Then again, being ahead of time meant they could go farther and maybe get some shopping or something in while they were in Cali. My classmates are pretty lame. They need a party tutor or something.
