Octavia has the power to induce or repress feelings of ecstasy in others. The most raw form of her power is basically the air around her. People that come within about ten to twenty feet of her are subject to her powerful Ecstasy influence. Basically this means they will have heightened senses and feelings of strangely immense pleasure when they are around her.
Some side effects of Octavia's power are pretty standard. It is not uncommon for people who are around her for an extended period of time to pass out or black out. Sometimes, Octavia can't control the power and it kind of infects people when she doesn't want it to. It also means that she is high for about 60% of her waking hours which can really cut in to things like school and life in general.
Another facet of her power is the ability to take away, or repress the ecstasy. She can actually make people feel really down and depressed if she isn't careful and this bit of power is generally seeded in her own feelings. When Tavie is feeling down or upset it can set in and make everyone around her miserable.

 So there were a number of things that Octavia found completely bogus about this school's system. First of all, that one would be subjected to random drug tests just because they signed the paper to live in the dorms if complete crap. This was especially true because they force you to live in the dorms. As if that wasn't conspiratorial enough, Octavia was no convinced that the school was discriminating against people who possess certain types of abilities. First Alex, and that stupid 'fuck you, you're not going anywhere' bracelet they slapped on him, and now her. She was standing in the lobby of Armitage Tower listening to the ramblings of some executive who assured her that the bracelet would be removed in a weeks time, after she learned to live a productive student life without the aid of her drug inducing ability.The shackle was already bring her mood down. She felt like the entire world was suddenly black and white, and she was the only interesting bit of color that could be seen for miles. The bracelet must have been some sort of device to make her just like everyone else. This was basically the plot of a bad Disney Channel original movie or something.Glaring, Octavia stormed out of the Tower and across the lawn, only making it about half way across Zellner Lawn before she collapsed on the ground, tired and longing for the release of ecstasy that would normally help her float her way back to the dorms, "Uhg..." Daniel's power of thermal manipulation allows him to control the temperature of nearly any physical matter to a certain degree. He is both able to heat and cool objects at will by manipulating them on a microscopic level. Heating wise, Daniel is able to increase the temperature of an object by 142 degrees Fahrenheit (61.1 degrees Celsius) higher than its current temperature. However, as with every ability, there are certain limitations. Daniel is not able to cause an item to exceed the temperature of the boiling point of water, and attempting to do so will result in failure. If an item is already at 212 degrees Fahrenheit (100 degrees Celsius), then his powers are rendered useless.
Along with being able to heat things past its current temperature, Daniel is also able to make things cooler. His powers allow him to cool nearly any physical form of matter by 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius.) However, just like the other side of his abilities, Daniel has a limit. He is unable to exceed -30 degrees Fahrenheit (-34.4 degrees Celsius.)
Daniel's abilities are able to affect items that are within his line of sight away from him in a circumference of 300 feet (91.44 meters.)However, the larger the object, the easier it is to focus and affect, while the smaller the object the harder it is for him to see, thus focus on. His current temporal limit for manipulating an objects temperature is several hours before extreme fatigue.

 Daniel eventually knew this would happen. Wondering around alone in a foreign place wasn't exactly the brightest idea he had ever had, but he couldn't reduce himself to sitting around in the school's dorms all day, especially when his room mate wasn't the most talkative person. However, he was now lost, and completely unsure which way was actually north or south, or even east or west for that matter. With a few fidgeting at his wrist, his watch informed him that he was indeed still in the general area of Calloway for the most part, but that still didn't change the fact that he was completely clueless on where the hell he was going.
Letting out a sigh he looked up towards the sky, careful to avoid staring directly into the sun. The day was beautiful at least, and if he never made it back to Ashford, he was sure that he could at least find his way to town. The faint voice of a female alerted him that someone else was there, and by the time his head managed to turn her direction, she was collapsed against the ground. "Are you dead?" he asked, making his way over to the other student. He immediately dropped to the ground beside her, giving a slight poke to her side. "It isn't that hot outside," he teased. |

Octavia had almost decided that she would be content with laying on the ground and just staring into the sun for the rest of the day. After all, what else was there to life? Just as she was starting to feel even sorrier for herself, someone interrupted her pity party. She didn't know who he was, and being super nice wasn't on her to do list today, " I'm not dead!" She almost yelled, sitting up quickly and frowning at Daniel, " See?" Tavie moved her arms and wanted to giggled like she normally would have, but her power felt like it was just out of reach. Her dark eyes found the bracelet the school had clamped on her arm and she frowned, " This thing is ruining my entire life!" | Perhaps Daniel had went too far by poking her, or even by deciding to converse with her in the first place, but either way it was obvious that this girl was extremely different and out there. He was taken aback when she nearly yelled about still being alive, and when she collapsed back to the ground he mentally flinched. "What is that?" he asked her, his eyes locking onto the bracelet as well. It didn't appear to be anything harmful, albeit other than the fact it wasn't particularly stylish, but he wasn't one for following fashion trends either, so he was far off from judging when it came to clothing choice. |

| Daniel's eyes carefully trained onto the bracelet as the other student showed it off. The reflecting light was enough to cause him to to reflexively hold up his hand before glancing down at her. "No," he simply replied to her question on if he had ever seen such. The mention at her power being dangerous caused him to raise an eyebrow, and without hesitation he followed up with another question. "What is it? Your power?" he asked, now suddenly even more intrigued with the female. He knew he was bound to eventually run into someone who had powers that would seem outwardly and dangerous, and now was his chance to possibly learn about one. |

| Daniel sat there for a moment, thinking over Octavia's power. He wasn't quite sure what ecstasy manipulation was capable of doing to a person, but the way she followed by informing that she showed people a good time easily had him entertained. "Really? Like what?"he asked, attempting to fish out more information. He tried his best to avoid sounding like a complete idiot, but perhaps if he played his words correctly, he could get an explanation that wasn't worded to make him feel like a two year old. |
