we see the same sunset - gem

Taze was sitting in the spinning office chair that came in his new dorm room. The flat screen TV his mother had given him for his 16th birthday was already set up on his dresser and he had the cable tuned to Country Music Television's Top 20 Countdown. His black leather cowboy boots were propped on the desk and he was leaned as far back as his chair would allow without breaking under his weight. He had only been living in this room for about twenty minutes and he had already found at least six things to be seriously annoyed over. First of all, he didn't like making too many decisions. And because his new roommate hadn't arrived before Taze, he was saddled with the choice between the two beds. He settled for the one closer to the door and threw his bag on the mattress which proceeded to squeak loudly. Since the new guy hadn't shown up yet, Taze checked the other bed. Nope, they were both loud. He was pretty sure that if he ever had sex on one of these things that the neighbors would be able to hear with no problems. So that was two things right off the bat that Taze already hated about this room.

The third thing, while trivial and honestly kind of awesome in a way, was that they had demolished the third floors of all of the dorm buildings. Down the right side of the second floor, all the men lived, and the women resides down the left had side of the corridor. Which meant that being clean was suddenly ten times more important that it was before. After all, the smell a guy's room can create even when it is mostly clean was one he didn't think would be right to share with young ladies. Letting out a sigh, Taze moved to set up his TV. Which of course took about ten minutes longer than it would have had the stupid furniture not all been stacked in just the perfect way to cause a problem. So when he finally get settled into his chair, which may squeak louder than the bed and was extremely uncomfortably, Taze had already started considering that he may need to drop out of college (and they hadn't even started yet).

But now he was finally starting to think that it could work. The music was good, twanging in the room, and his new roommate hadn't arrived yet. He was bobbing his head, messing with his Affliction t-shirt and picking at the frayed hole in the knee of his jeans. He was the epitome of country in this outfit, and he knew it. Laughing to himself, he stood up and made the music louder before he started unpacking a few bags, shoving clothes into drawers unceremoniously.

GEMINI FLYNN COOPER 

Gemini was more a little bummed when it'd been announced that he'd have to move out of the room he'd come to know as his for so long. Even worse he wasn't moving with Virgil, which would have been more than ideal. They'd been a perfect match, they both liked things neat, liked to party, didn't understand commitment and well Virgil made him laugh. Oh well, new people. New adventure, right? He reassured himself as he made his way across the lawn to the new hall, two large boxes secured in his arms. He new he could have carried more weight wise, but it wasn't logical even with his reflexes.

Once up the stairs, Gemini could already hear the sound of country music in the hall and he rolled his eyes. It wasn't that he had a problem with country music, he could dig some Luke Bryan or Florida Georgia Line but it wasn't his favorite. He had to resist rolling them further once he realized the country music was coming from room 201, his new room. He pinned the boxes between the wall and his chest as he fidgeted with the door handle getting it open. He readjusted the boxes in his arms stepping into the room and raised his eyebrow at the most cliche' country looking dude he might have ever seen shoving clothes into drawers.

He took a quick look around and saw his roommate had already claimed the bed closest to the door, fine by him the less decisions he had to make the better. Yo' He said moving across the room to set the boxes down on the empty bed which squeaked nosily under their weight. Gemini scowled down at it as he adjusted the Seattle Seahawks hat on his head, how obnoxious was that going to be? A new roommate and a noisy bed? Maybe he should have chosen to take some time off from school and moved in with Ryan instead.

TAZE MICHAEL FOWLER

Honestly, Taze didn't know what to make of his new roommate. The guy looked normal enough, but he couldn't tell anything about him just by looking at him like he could with most people. His Truth Inducement, although only completely unavoidable when he was touching someone, did generally inspire mostly truthful things from people. Either way, Taze could tell the guy wasn't too fond of the music he had chosen, and the look on his face when he saw Taze for the first time was more than enough to make Taze frown, "What's up, dude?" He asked, his accent think and obviously Southern. He shoved the dresser drawer closed with his knee and tossed the suitcase his clothes had been in on to the top shelf of his closet.

The next box he pulled out was full of posters and pictures in frames. He started with a large poster of a souped up Ford F-250. It was shiny and blue and everything Taze could have wanted in his four wheel drive companion. With a tape dispenser on the edge of his dresser, he taped up the poster, not rally caring that it was crooked on the wall.

GEMINI FLYNN COOPER

Gemini turned to face his new roommate, suddenly feeling like he needed to tell him exactly what was I'm bummed that they moved me away from Virgil. He was kind of the perfect roommate. No offense Bro. He blurted out. He made a face as the words echoed in his ears, that was weird. What about you? He asked, brushing off his previous statement like it didn't happen. He turned back to the boxes on his bed, starting to unpack them. He pulled out a stack of DVDs, mostly a combination or horror movies and comic book movies with a few odd ones thrown in and laid them on his desk, he'd organize them later. Gemini looked over his shoulder to see Taze hanging a poster up a Ford Truck, well at least it wasn't a chevy. If I had to have a Ford it'd be Raptor.. those are some dope looking trucks, Mazda makes a bomb one too. They don't sell it in the States though only the old B series ones..which are basically just Ford Rangers. Though he figured the guy could really careless.

Gem Remembered that despite his grumpyness about moving he should still remember his manners,he stepped over in Taze's direction. He offered Taze his hand, while bringing his gaze up to meet the eyes of the guy in front of him. Names Gem..

TAZE MICHAEL FOWLER

Taze couldn't help but smirk a little bit. Almost as long as he could remember people had spontaneously spewed honesty at him, so it didn't surprise him when Gemini started talking. He nodded as if he were really listening and pulled out a picture of Amy sitting on a horse. He propped it up on the desk, noting that it looked out of place but not really sure ho to fix it, "Taze." He said, grinning as he shook his new roommate's hand, "Nice to meet you."

Yeah, nice to meet you too.. Gemini replied. He looked over at the picture, examining it. Oh hey, I know that girl, sort of. She's cute. She's the vitakinetic one...Getting healed seems weird too me..to each their own though. I guess I should be grateful, she did pretty much save Rae's life and she helps Dani all the time. A look of annoyance came over Gemini's face. He'd been known to enjoy talking, even to strangers but this was ridiculous. Gemini eyed his roommmate suspiciously before pulling his hand away.

TAZE MICHAEL FOWLER

Taze stopped for a moment and glared in Gemini's general direction, "Healing seems..." He shook his head and put up another picture of the two of them together right next to the  first image, "...How is healing weird, exactly?" He turned and frowned, crossing his arms in front of his chest defensively as he took a seat in his office chair, "I mean, we go to a school full of people who can create fire out of nothing and turn invisible and you say that healing is what is weird?"

Gemini rolled his eyes at Taze's glare. He really wasn't in the mood to argue over something so trivial. He dug into the box pulling out a poster of couple of Seahawk's cheerleaders before jumping up on the bed to hang it. Standing on the bed made him significantly taller than where he wanted the poster and he taped it instead at abdomen level. He looked over his shoulder at Taze I said getting healed seems weird to me. He stepped down off the bed, admiring the poster from his spot on the floor for reasons that the chicks were hot and to make sure it was straight. He turned around standing up a little straighter as he crossed his arms across his chest. I'd just prefer to heal naturally, you know bandages, and time. It's not like I said healers are weird, but hey whatever bro.

TAZE MICHAEL FOWLER

Frowning, Taze rolled his eyes, yanking out a few more pictures of cousins and people from his high school back in Oklahoma. There were images from float trips down the river and monster truck rallies and anything that made him seem any more redneck than he already was, "The healing process for her power is actually super natural." He said, "It just speed it up. It's not like she's giving you a drug or plastering you with a synthetic material that doesn't appear naturally in nature. If anything, modern medicine is what is weird."

Gemini shrugged I'm sure it's useful, actually I know for a fact it's useful and maybe If I ever get stabbed or something I'll change my tune, but I like to heal like a normal human being, and I fail to see how that's an issue for anyone but me. He unconsciously rubbed at his shoulder where the scar from Ralph's bite was still evident. He turned back to his belongings unpacking a variety of shirts, button ups and jeans and placed them neatly on his bed, he'd have to determine what needed to be put in the dresser versus what needed to be hung up so it didn't get wrinkled later. He turned dumping one of the now empty boxes on the floor. Gem glanced over the pictures Taze was setting up So, that's what you guys do for fun...from where ever you're from? Somewhere south I assume since, well, you're accent. He asked motioning toward the pictures with his eyes, his tone was more curious than judgmental.
