POWER AUGMENTATION |
Virgil's power means he can strengthen or weaken anyone's power. He doesn't have to touch them but has to fairly close to them for it work. Also it doesn't have an off switch so if he's stood next to you, your powers might either be weaker or unbelievably strong. Unfortunately the side affects are headache's, nosebleeds, nightmares and depending on who's powers he's changing the side affects of the powers sometimes fall onto him. If he's been near a pyrokinetic he feels way to hot for the next few hours. Augmention is also helpful in training to give the trainers and students an idea of what the student is capable of with full control. He's usually wearing some sort of device created by his father though so it's not to say his power is always working.

 'Cause I keep kidding around, Like a child, but pardon me... As a kid Virgil spent hours hiding out in his room, listening to Audio-books. It was his he spent most of his free time. He wasn't very social as a kid and apart from Rich he didn't really have friends. He was afraid of everything back then, timid and probably a little bit shy. He'd grown up though and he as he got older he was heaped with many more responsibilities, he had to behave a certain way, talk a certain way, his days were planned out by the minute as was his wardrobe. While his parents weren't quiet as stiff as the Guants, his father still expected him to be the perfect son and heir to his Multibillion dollar company. Virgil had become quiet good at letting things that occurred with his parents and Rich's parents blow over his head and just forget them. However recent things had started to take a bit of a toll on him and as the old saying goes, Old habits die hard.
That was the reason why Virgil had found the most remote corner of the library to hide away in. He hadn't wandered outside in a few days as he couldn't face people, or the world. He'd loaded his latest audiobook onto his phone and plugged his headphones in, he enjoyed getting lost in another world even with Dyslexia. Virgil wasn't sure exactly what caused him to feel the need to hide away, he did know the two main factors though. One being the comments in the chatbox about his parents, the Negation Devices and the Nazi's. He didn't exactly understand the link but it troubled him deeply that people thought of his parents like that when they were trying to help. It didn't help that his best friend was getting married, he did like Melissa but he didn't necessarily want them to get married. He felt like he was loosing his best friend, he knew it wasn't true but with Rich spending so much time doing wedding related stuff he couldn't help it. Virgil shifted his position slightly so he was more comfortable, his eyes were shut behind his glasses as he blocked out the few students milling about. His ability works best through contact. He can negate others abilities if they are within three yards of him but it doesn't last very long and it takes more energy to do that. It is almost like a negating field. However if he is in contact with that person their powers are useless if he chooses. He can turn the power on and off at will. He can keep this up for a few hours. Granted he has to be touching the person. It does take energy to use the ability so if he is tiered or run down it doesn't work as well and sometimes not at all. If he uses it too long it can cause severe headaches and make him sick.

To say things had been crazy was an understatement. Rich was overwhelmed with everything that was going on. He hadn't had a break and right then he was looking for something to take his mind off of everything. If he was being honest he was looking for his best mate. He missed his friend's antics and with him being so busy with the whole marriage and everything he hadn't been giving Virg the attention he usually gave him. It was starting to get to him as well. Rich was starting to realize the more he dealt with his father the more he acted like the man. He needed his friends, or well friend to set him strait. Now it was just a matter of finding the friend.
Rich didn't have to look far. He knew Virg to a "t" just about. He walked up to the library and found the furthest corner of the place and saw Virg right where he thought his friend would be. Curled up listening to some book. He knew his friend had an issue with reading and was always supportive of helping him out with reading or just going with audio books. He didn't mind reading out loud but as good as he was with public speaking for some reason he was never very good with reading out loud to people. It always sounded flat, uninteresting. He took a seat next to his friend and stole one of the earbuds and put it in his ear to listen as well. He used to do that all the time when they were going through the private school they were sent to.

'Cause I keep kidding around, Like a child, but pardon me... Virgil knew that if Rich came looking for him it wouldn't take him long to find him. They'd grown up together so Rich knew his habits and his tendencies like the back of his hand and the same was true of Virg regarding Rich's habits. Rich had been a great help during their school years, the private school they'd been sent to wasn't one that had all the provisions for someone who found reading a challenge. The headmaster of the school also didn't believe that dyslexia or any other learning difficulties exsisted and that it was a just an excuse to not work hard. That's when Rich helped him most, sometimes he could get ebooks but a lot of the time he relied on his friend to read their study material out loud. Virgil didn't protest to his friend taking his earbud, it was commonplace between the two of them. "Rich! My man! How nice of you to join me!" Virgil said, perhaps a little to loud as he was dangerously close to being shushed. He uncurled himself and bumped his fist against his best friends shoulder in a playful sort of punch.
"How's the wedding plans working out?" Virgil asked. Her knew it wasn't easy for his friend being forced into marriage with someone he didn't necessarily love. Melanie was a nice enough girl and Virgil knew her to be a decent person but definitely not marriage material for his best friend. Virgil's book he was listening to about quantum mechanics was quickly forgotten in favor of his best friend.

He should have expected his friend to be listening to something advanced like quantum mechanics. It really wasn't his forte and frankly most of it was just going over Rich's head. If it was statistics or economics Rich would have no issue following. He didn't pay attention to the e-book, instead he focused on his friend. Rich should have expected to be asked about the whole marriage situation. That seemed to be the highlight of every conversation. It was annoying to have to put up a face all the time and act like the marriage was an okay situation. It really wasn't. Nothing about the situation was alright.
"Eh, honestly it is just an annoyance. I don't really have much input in most of the planning and just trying to find a way out of the whole thing. I know Melanie is going to have some people crash it but that is as far as we have been able to go. For the time being" Rich wasn't too happy about the situation. However, he could live with it if need be. His parents were only together because of an arranged marriage. Which is why they saw no issues with it. That didn't mean there were strife in the marriage but that was to be expected. "But don't worry about it. What's up with you man?" He asked wondering how is best friend was fairing as of late.

'Cause I keep kidding around, Like a child, but pardon me... Most people would've considered his choice of reading, well listening, material to be odd and somewhat complex. Virgil usually enjoyed it. Virgil knew how not alright the situation was, if you believed in love then the situation definitely wasn't right if like his roommate relationships were just a thing then the situation still wasn't right. Virgil had already told his parents his stand on arranged marriage and they had clearly explained to him that they won't be marrying him off which was a relife for the moment. He wouldn't put it past them to try later on down the line since his father worshiped Gaunt senior and if he suggested it then it would happen.
Virgil faked shock, "and she didn't ask me!? I'm the best party crasher there is." Virgil teased giving his friend a small smile. "Like I said man, you should totally sleep with someone else while engaged to Mel and that will quickly put a hault on things." It was a suggestion he'd made earlier to Rich but his friend was less than open to that idea. However he wasn't going to push the matter, his friend would manage whatever the outcome would be in the end. "Of course I worry about it. You're getting married to someone you hardly know." Virgil said. He sighed when Richard asked him how things where with him, "Urg you know the usual work, school all that jazz." Virgil said with a shrug.
