Ryan was relieved to see that despite the spring season the restaurant wasn't full of tourists and what had become his favorite old booth in the back of the restaurant was available. It was quiet, secluded and a great place for people watching. He checked his watch as he slid into the booth and dropped the car magazine that was in his hand down on the table. Perfect He still had an hour for lunch before he'd have to get back to the shop, not that there was anything really exciting going on today, so if he was a few minutes late who cared. He smiled politely as the waitress came to take his order. A coke and a cheeseburger with fries. No tomatoes or lettuce. The same thing he had been ordering every day for lunch since deciding 'Pioneer Camp' was his new lunch place. Sure it was old, but he thought it had a sort of rustic charm, and the food was good though he'd yet to see if they had apple pie on the menu. If they did he might never eat anywhere ever again. After making himself comfortable, he flipped open the magazine in front of him, sipping on his coke from time to time while he waited for his food to come. ClothesAMARYLLIS JESSICA FOWLER

Amy's vitakinesis allows her to manipulate a person's health. Essentially, she can heal just about anything as long as it isn't too big or the person isn't too far gone. Gunshot or stab wounds are fairly easy if the person doesn't lose too much blood before she gets to them.
What is difficult is healing a disease. Unless it is in the very early stages, like barely or even undetectable by modern standards, Amy cannot heal it permanently. She can make things better on a temporary basis, but not forever.
Healing is a very painful process, as all amy is doing is allowing the body to quickly repair itself in a natural manner. This usually only lasts a few minutes though, long enough for it to wear off. At this time Amy can only heal a few people a day, mostly because the whole thing still freaks her out, especially when they start screaming. She doesn't like hurting people and wouldn't if she could help it.
Amy's powers do effect her as well on a different level. She cannot heal herself on her own, but if she is healing someone else her body does respond to her powers. If she doesn't use her powers at least once every few days, her own illness begins to overtake her body and can have horrifying consequences. Within a few hours it would reemerge full force and there is a high likely hood that she would likely die within two or three days of an attack if no one stepped in.

Amy had just finished her latest appointment when she realized that driving back to the school would mean she had also missed lunch. Since she already wasn't feeling too hot, a stop in at the local barbecue place sounded just like what the doctor ordered.
Once she got inside and undid a few of her layers, Amy ordered her usual chicken strip basket and a sweet tea. Despite the warmer temperatures, she felt like she was freezing. That was generally one of her surefire ways of knowing that she was sick. No matter how many layers she put on, the room was never quite warm enough for her comfort.
Unfortunately, no one she knew was there today. The place was unusually quiet and the guy she sat down next to was reading a magazine. Even though he was cute, there was no way that she was going to bother him for small talk. her silent revelry was broken when the waitress came back by with her drink, which was could as it should be, but made her shiver slightly. Stupid cold everything. She grumbled, putting the drink down and rubbing her hands together to try and warm them up from the brief contact.

The sounds of someone else in the restaurant made Ryan glance up from the magazine he reading. He couldn't help but find it odd that despite the pleasantly nice temperatures; or at that's what his phone app had said, that the girl was bundled up in layers of clothing. Maybe it was colder than what he thought, the last couple years had made it difficult for him to judge temperature properly.
He didn't pay much attention to her, as she took a seat and exchanged words with the waitress. The article on the rotary engine was much more interesting than what a cute blonde was ordering for lunch. It wasn't until she spoke to no one directly that he again looked at her out of the corner of his eye. Why didn't you get a cup of warm tea then? He asked bluntly his tone amused.

Amy turned to look at the stranger like he had lost his mind, her hands still rubbing together slightly as she tried to make the chill go away. Hot tea is gross. I'd rather drink iced coffee and that is just like...an abomination. No, coffee should be warm and tea should be on ice. Why did people keep getting those two backwards? It really wasn't a hard concept. Sorry, I was just talking to myself. I really hate feeling cold, but When I get sick...I can sleep with a heated blanket and it still feels like I'm freezing. She explained, not wanting this guy to think she was some sort of weirdo. Not that it mattered. She had broken the number one rule. No saying the S word in front of a dude. It made them all weird and then they didn't want to talk to you ever again. Oh well.

Ryan gave a small laugh I agree. Hot tea is gross but It'd be better than being cold, right? Ryan shrugged Sometimes talking to yourself is the only way to have a decent conversation. He flipped the page of his magazine though he wasn't actually reading any of it anymore, just skimming the pictures. He raised an eyebrow slightly when she said she was sick, but brushed it off. It was probably in some etiquette book that it was rude to ask 'With what.' That sounds really lame. This doesn't really seem like the kind of place you'd want to be if you get cold easily..I hear Phoenix is nice and warm. Ryan wasn't a fan of the cold but he very rarely struggled with being cold, especially if he dressed correctly. If it helps, I'm not sick and I don't care for cold weather either.

Amy nodded, not sure how much she could say to this person. Obviously he wasn't just passing by if you took in to account the magazine he was reading, but that didn't necessarily mean he was an SPB. The school is what I'm here for more than anything. If you know of a good one in Phoenix...well, I might be willing to relocate. Once she was out of school and had some sort of medical certification, she could probably go wherever she wanted. Right now though, the school was what was keeping her alive. Taze's sports injuries had ceased to slow down her condition much ages ago, so the steady supply of stupid teenagers with super powers tended to help much more. Are you a student? She finally asked, curiosity getting the best of her. Really though, she was just asking if he was an SPB without saying the words, like most of them did when meeting someone away from the campus.

Ryan shook his head turning another page of his magazine. I don't think they have the kind of school you're looking for in Phoenix. The mention of the school confirmed two things; one she was a SPB and two She was younger than him, though the last one wasn't %100, he could at least count on it being likely. He took a drink of the soda in front of him. Oh no, I haven't been a student in years. Which is probably a good thing. I'm not very good at it. He said with a small laugh I'm a mechanic. I work on Main Street. He said moving his hand slightly in the direction of Main Street. I have friends that go to the school though.

Too bad. Oh well, maybe Ashford will branch out some day. She laughed, eating a fry from the plate that the waitress sat in front of her while she mulled over his words. If he had Ashford friends, then maybe he really was an SPB which made her relax just a little bit. So, friends? I mean its a pretty small school, so I'm sure there's a chance I've at least run in to them. Hopefully it wasn't someone who hated her. That could be horribly awkward.

Ryan nodded Maybe, I'm sure there's a few people who'd like to be anywhere besides Wyoming. Ryan gave the waitress his award winning smile when she brought his cheeseburger and fries. He closed the magazine he was reading and shoved it to the side. He reached for the ketchup bottle dumping some of on his fries while he debated if he wanted to tell her who his friends were, at least his best friend. The girl was cute but she wasn't let me spend an hour making you listen to me complain about what a horrible person Gemini Cooper is cute. Gemini Cooper and Dani....? What was Dani's last name? Did he even know? ..Rockefellar? He said unsure of himself. He dipped a fry in the Ketchup before popping it into his mouth.

Amy gave him a skeptical look for a minute, then burst out laughing. Gem is a little bit of a tool when it comes to my power, but he's nice enough. With Gem's reputation, it was no shock that the guy seemed hesitant. Luckily she grew up with Taze who had pretty much reinforced the "only if it's special" rule to an extreme. She'd never even looked twice at him. And Dani...I know her pretty well. We've been friends since I got here earlier this year.

Ryan gave her a questioning look, unsure how Gem could be a tool about someone's power.Well, Gem's a tool in general...I say that with the utmost affection possible. I'm thinking about getting a jar for him. Ryan said cracking a bit of a smile. Some people might think he was talking smack about his best friend though he'd never say anything about Gem he'd have a problem saying to his face. Oh that's rad. Dani's really sweet. He picked up another fry, examining it for a second, before turning his attention back to her So...what is your power? If you don't mind me asking.

Sweet like a sour patch kid. I never know whether to hug her or to run away. Amy teased, taking a sip of her drink while he talked. Her power was something she wasn't sure how to describe some times. It wasn't all that complicated or anything, but some people just didn't get it. Vitakinesis. It's kinda like what most people think of healing. Manipulating the body after an injury or an illness basically.
