THERMAL MANIPULATION |
Xan can sense and manipulate temperatures around him. He can feel in a sense heat and coll temps from people and objects allowing him to almost see his surroundings. This is just natural and doesn't shut off. If there are too many of the same temperatures around him he can't always differentiate between the objects.
Manipulating temperatures takes focus and he can hold a temp for up to three hours as long as it doesn't exceed -20F point or 300F. Anything past that the length he can keep it up differs. He doesn't have to be in physical contact with what ever he is working with but does have to be withing three feet of it. He can heat up a 10ft radius of water as long as he is in the water. It seems that if he is in contact with water he can make the heat or cool temps travel further. If he is not concentrating it doesn't work and there is the chance of getting too hold or cold that it will burn or freeze him only when the temp is at a more extreme. Also it is stronger if he is in physical contact with the object.

He would save them to his computer later. Right then he just wanted to make sure he had most of the lesson memorized. He rubbed his arm where he had bandaged up another cut. He didn't bother going to the doctor with that one since he knew it wasn't too deep. Honestly he didn't like having to see the doctor every time he had some injury. Granted he could always ask a friend how bad it was. That being said a good amount of his friends were older than him and off to bigger and better things. He really needed to make some friends that were more his age. That being said he was still sitting there in the lounge listening to a recording. He would much rather be in the kitchen or out doing something fun. But studies were important. Good grades meant good scholarships and he could go to culinary school and really open up that restaurant. He didn't hear the person enter the lounge but he did sense them. He moved his head up to sort of face the person who had just walked in. He couldn't figure out who they were by just their heat signature. It was the voice and sometimes the sound of their feet on the ground that helped. It was the little things that helped him make out someone. Fill My Heart With Song and let me sing forever more |

Amy's vitakinesis allows her to manipulate a person's health. Essentially, she can heal just about anything as long as it isn't too big or the person isn't too far gone. Gunshot or stab wounds are fairly easy if the person doesn't lose too much blood before she gets to them.
What is difficult is healing a disease. Unless it is in the very early stages, like barely or even undetectable by modern standards, Amy cannot heal it permanently. She can make things better on a temporary basis, but not forever.
Healing is a very painful process, as all amy is doing is allowing the body to quickly repair itself in a natural manner. This usually only lasts a few minutes though, long enough for it to wear off. At this time Amy can only heal a few people a day, mostly because the whole thing still freaks her out, especially when they start screaming. She doesn't like hurting people and wouldn't if she could help it.
Amy's powers do effect her as well on a different level. She cannot heal herself on her own, but if she is healing someone else her body does respond to her powers. If she doesn't use her powers at least once every few days, her own illness begins to overtake her body and can have horrifying consequences. Within a few hours it would reemerge full force and there is a high likely hood that she would likely die within two or three days of an attack if no one stepped in.

Amy had missed class that day, again. Things were slower now down at the training center since people usually got a handle on their powers towards the end of the semester and stopped hurting each other. That was great, and Amy was happy for them...but that didn't mean she wasn't sick. She could usually count on Dani or one of her buddies to get in to a decent amount of trouble at least once a week but for some reason even they had calmed down a little bit. This sucked, royally.
Pills and chemicals and all sorts of needles were what she had to resort to in the slow times like this week. Her powers had no side effects and would likely take away the weirdness that her treatments left her with if she ever got the chance to use them, but for now she had just decided to curl up on the couch in the lounge until her brother got out of class. Someone had beat her there though, it seemed. Hey, sorry. I didn't think anyone would be back here yet. Maybe it was later than she thought. She'd slept most of the day after the local doctor got done and left the room. Thank goodness for house calls.

He head the voice but didn't know who it was. Though he did noticed the tiredness in her voice. "Hey no worries, it is a public space after all. Classes let out not too long ago just the library is usually really busy right now" He explained with a smile. He didn't want to pry but from her not knowing how late it was and the way her voice sounded he figured she hadn't gone to classes. He was concerned. Xan didn't like to hear people in distress but he knew there really wasn't much he could do but lend an ear. "You alright, you don't sound too good" He asked as politely as he could. he made sure to pause his work to pay attention to the girl. He moved his head so it would seem like he was looking at her. Peoples temperatures changed when they were sick. He couldn't really tell. Granted it was most likely because he didn't know her and thus didn't know what her normal resting temperature was. Xan always found it kind of interesting that his way of telling people apart was to focus on their body temperature. It was like someone recognizing someone for their facial features. Amy laughed nervously, sitting down on a couch not too far away from the stranger. Surely she'd seen him around somewhere but then again, she saw most people on campus because of the time she spent at the training center. It was kinda her thing. Eh. Being alright is over rated. Sick is the new normal.

Xander shook his head. "Well if being sick is the new normal count me out. I will gladly be an oddball there" Xan hated feeling sick. Mainly because it just meant that he needed more help and he really didn't like that. He started to wrap up the headphones. He wasn't about to continue listening while someone else was there, especially a lady. It was rude. Xan smiled towards the girl. "I take it being sick is a norm for you?" He hoped he wasn't stepping any boundaries by asking. He didn't know the girl so for all he knew she just had a cold or it could be some incurable illness. Some people could take it the wrong way. He was just trying to start up a conversation. He really couldn't help if someone was ill, except maybe make a mean chicken noodle soup but other than that he was kind of useless in that department.
