The instant that he saw the representatives from the school, Alex knew things were about to get interesting. He had already opened up the portal but Octavia was nowhere to be found and time was running out quickly. With no other choice, Alex felt himself being pulled through the portal towards a small town on Route 66, somewhere near California. He'd picked up the post card weeks ago with the intention of using it as an escape route, but now it was just a huge bother. With the way his powers worked it would take him forever to get back there and she would be long gone. The only thing he could do now was wait and try to find her once she arrived at Ashford.
Pamphlets from the school had made their way in to his bag years ago when he had first decided not to go and luckily had stayed there. On some level he had always known they would be caught and where would they be without an exit strategy? His first thought was to check the website to get a better idea of how the school was laid out. No maps were available, but he had a reference point for where he needed to go.
Less than a week after they had been separated, Alex traveled to Calloway for the first time. An in and out job just to check their response times and to see some of the grounds for his self. He lasted about five minutes before security came. By then he knew roughly where she would be and how to get there, but he would have to bide his time until they were off his trail. It took two months to lose them fully and another one to be sure that they weren't looking anymore.
Finally he was ready to make his move. He had his bag packed and thrown over his shoulder and the picture of Page Hall pulled up on his phone to focus on. Not long after he got started, Alex saw the familiar portal open up so that he could jump through it.
In a million years, Alex would never have thought that the school was just using pictures of one hall on the site instead of photos of each individual place. That was why he couldn't contain his horror whenever he ended up outside of Milani hall instead of Page. Before he could get himself back to rights, campus security was on him with power neutralizing cuffs. Great. Just great. Now he was stuck too.
The principal and other staff members who were woken by the commotion seemed beyond annoyed by the teenager's attitude and actions, but in the end they just let him go...with his things...down to one of the halls. There was no way for him to escape right off anyways. His powers were being blocked by the bracelet, he had no cash, no way out. Alexander Thorn was officially found.
And he was beyond livid.
