APPEARANCE | Amy is very small and slightly fragile looking most of the time. The more she uses her powers, the better she looks, but if she goes more than a few days without using them, her health begins to fade and therefore so do her looks. She dresses conservatively for the most part, but she does like to dabble with the more dramatic makeup when she gets bored. That doesn't happen most of the time though because she thinks it takes too much effort. |

PERSONALITY | Amy is a small town sweetheart in the best way. She really doesn't have a mean bone in her body and doesn't have to for the most part. If someone messes with her, Taze will probably have stepped in before she even realizes what is going on. Physically she can still be a little fragile from time to time, but this doesn't matter. She has enough heart to make up for any shortcomings she might have anywhere else. There are only two times you'll see amy being extremely assertive. One is when she's using her power. It is the only time she feels completely confident in what she is doing, and her instincts make her take control of the situation. Just remember she's not being bossy, she's just the boss. The other is if it has anything to do with her big brother. Sure, Taze can take care of himself, but don't smack talk him. IT might take her forever, but she'll come up with some way to make sure you never do it again. He is a gentleman after all. Most of the time Amy can be found somewhere in the training center, waiting to help out with people who get themselves hurt during a session. Because she wants to enter the medical field, she tries to keep her grades up, so she's usually at a desk or table reading something. She's also kinda a book worm from spending so much time in the hospital with nothing to do. |
THE HOUSE THAT BUILT ME
MOTHER | KAYDA OLIVIA FOWLER - FORTY ONE - STAY AT HOME - "Mama is weird. I don't know what to think about her most days. I don't really blame her for not being around though. She did the best she could, under the circumstances." |
FATHER | ANTHONY RAYMOND FOWLER - FORTY ONE - FARMER - "Even though Taze kinda took over after I was diagnosed, I think I'll always be a daddy's girl at heart. He distanced himself as much as mama, but can you really blame them when the outlook is that bleak?." |
SIBLINGS | TAZE MICHAEL FOWLER - EIGHTEEN - STUDENT - BROTHER - "Taze is my hero and basically the best person in the entire world. He's also the only person I can ever completely count on. I don't know what I would do without him." |

SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW
HISTORY | Life in a small town is never as bad as people say. Sure, it can be a little boring, but when you have plenty of open space and an older brother, what is there to NOT love? That was how Amy felt as a kid. She was the second child of a hardworking farmer and his wife, a teacher. Literally everything was perfect in her world until she hit the fifth grade. That was when the sickness started, the one that made her sleepy and yucky all the time. Taze noticed, but mommy had papers to grade and daddy had a farm to run. Bubby tried to tell them, but...some times parents don't listen. One minute, Amy was a regular small town fifth grader, playing in the little playground set aside for the elementary kids between the shop and the baseball field, the next she was on the ground and the ambulance had been called. A few hours and some weird tests later, Amy heard the word cancer for the first time. It would take over her life for the next year or so as she went through treatment after treatment, attempting to hold back the spreading disease. During this time she felt like she was abandoned by her parents, but at least she had her brother. A year later, Amy returned to school full time, though she had to retake her fifth grade year because she had missed so much during the intense chemo sessions. There was just no way she would have been able to keep up. Life seemed to go mostly back to normal as she went in to remission for a while, the cancer only reemerging when she was fourteen. By then Taze had his license, so he just took care of her while her parents pretended nothing was happening. Taze almost going away was heartbreaking, but for a moment she wished he had left. Her illness came back full force right after he and mama sent the Ashford people away, enough that she almost had to leave school again. Stages were tossed around, and there was talk of spreading. By then she knew that she couldn't lie to her brother, even about small things like if she was feeling okay or not. Stupid truth inducement. A small miracle came the night that she felt things coming to a head. The nurse at her appointment didn't know she could hear them when they started talking about arraingements and last ditch efforts. The old treatments weren't working anymore and new ones were few and far between. Amy's fight had officially become a losing battle. Luckily for her, it was one of the few appointments Taze had missed because of a football game out of town. It had taken some convincing, but the team was doing well so he HAD to go, right? Kaida wouldn't even have the chance to tell Taze the news before Amy's powers manifested. It was just a broken wrist, or that was what the coach said. They were on the way to the hospital with Taze, his arm on ice and wrapped up, when something compelled her to reach out and touch him. It's been long enough that she can't even remember how he reacted, but a long minute later his wrist was fine and she felt better than she had in ages. The next morning the recruiter came again, but with better news. Amy was a vitakinetic, and a power quirk was allowing her to heal her own cancer. For a year, Amy managed to keep herself fairly taken care of. If Taze got hurt doing whatever, whether it was playing a sport or working on some piece of farm equipment, she would heal him right up and they would go about their business until the next time. However, it became apparent to her that the struggle wasn't quite over after the first nine months. If she went too long without healing someone, she got sick again and it was worse each time. Eventually a routine scan revealed that the cancer had spread because she wasn't using her powers nearly enough, though the doctor didn't know that. Kaida and Tony eventually made the call to send both kids to Ashford where Amy could use her powers more openly. No one really seems to have liked the decision, but it'll keep her alive until she can enter the medical field. Amy hopes to become a doctor or a nurse so that she can have access to people who need help on a regular basis, both because she is a compassionate person and because it assists with her own illness. She'd rather people not be sick, but she knows they are going to anyways, so why not help both of them at the same time? |
ALL THE SMALL THINGS
POWER | vitakinesis |
POWER DESCRIPTION | Amy's vitakinesis allows her to manipulate a person's health. Essentially, she can heal just about anything as long as it isn't too big or the person isn't too far gone. Gunshot or stab wounds are fairly easy if the person doesn't lose too much blood before she gets to them. What is difficult is healing a disease. Unless it is in the very early stages, like barely or even undetectable by modern standards, Amy cannot heal it permanently. She can make things better on a temporary basis, but not forever. Healing is a very painful process, as all amy is doing is allowing the body to quickly repair itself in a natural manner. This usually only lasts a few minutes though, long enough for it to wear off. At this time Amy can only heal a few people a day, mostly because the whole thing still freaks her out, especially when they start screaming. She doesn't like hurting people and wouldn't if she could help it. Amy's powers do effect her as well on a different level. She cannot heal herself on her own, but if she is healing someone else her body does respond to her powers. If she doesn't use her powers at least once every few days, her own illness begins to overtake her body and can have horrifying consequences. Within a few hours it would reemerge full force and there is a high likely hood that she would likely die within two or three days of an attack if no one stepped in. |
SPECIAL ITEMS | Amy has one of Taze's bluejackets hoodies that she stole during her stays in the hospital and a ton of OSU gear that she's bought over the years. Other than that, it isn't really important. |
