giving up on dinner - bex

Liam and Becca had been out at what he considered a nice restaurant. And, honestly, he had felt out of his element the entire time. It was like trying to conform to the normal dating quot wasn't working for him at all. So when she seemed preoccupied with her Raelynn problem, Liam was all too happy to pay for their drinks and head back to his apartment. He pulled out an iPad he had bought a few months ago and let Rebecca sync her phone with it so that they could both watch the video streaming in from Page Hall room 201, "Is it weird that this is our date?" He asked, settling into the couch and putting his arm around Becca's shoulder.

Leaning in to Liam's embrace, Becca watched Gem enter the room and started texting Dani, much nicer this time. Almost like she was buttering the girl up. Of course not. What could be weird about trying to hook my identical twin sister with my ex-boyfriend? He's lucky she's in love with him or...never mind one of these days she was going to finish that threat and actually drown Gemini, but today was not that day. I would like to state that for a playboy, he isn't doing well. You had more game in the first five minutes we knew each other than he's had this whole time. So stupid. Dani started texting her back then, making her grateful for the tablet. Now she could multitask better and cuddle with her boyfriend. Best non-date ever.

Liam laughed, shaking his head, "No drowning anyone today." He said, looking back at the screen with interest, "Cut the guy some slack. He clearly thinks more highly of himself than he really needs to. Looks to me like your sister does all the work." He chuckled, adjusting himself so that Rebecca could sit in his lap more comfortably. He moved her so that he could rest his chin on her shoulder and watch the video feed, "So this is the great Gemini Cooper, huh?" He frowned, "Not impressed."

Great is an over exaggeration. I don't know how he managed to snag Dani full time, much less Rae. She conceded, though she hated acknowledging that at times she and Dani were friends, or had been in the past. Good kid, bad friends. Maybe it helps to know about the big move. Gets them every time. Not that you would need it, but he definitely does. Gem was attractive, no denying that, but his personality and life style left something o be desired. Even more so if you expected someone halfway serious. Look at her though. She's acting like an amateur and I know she knows what she's doing.

Liam lokoed at Rebecca, a little confused, "Have either of them actually been attracted to a person they were actually in love with? They look like they are both on their first date ever in middle school or something." He couldn't help laugh. All the stories about the playboy Gemini Cooper and this is his first impression of the guy? He would be lying if he said it was what he was expecting. He figured they would be turning it off as soon as they sat down because Raelynn and Gemini were already rounded second base and heading for a home run. And that maybe he would be well on his way to the batting box himself, but no dice.

we have to speed things along. Dani is watching already and Rae hasn't even turned on the movie. It literally just looks like two geeks nerding out. This was all going to fall through soon if she didn't come up with something fast. Then it dawned on her. The movie she bought while Liam was gone. You aren't allowed to judge me for what I'm about to do. Got it? her tone was serious, but her eyes were playful as she leaned up to kiss him on the cheek before shooting a text to Rae. Luckily 50 shades was sitting out in plain view. Maybe she'd even see it herself before the text got there.

Liam had to admit that he was a little impressed by Rebecca. She wasn't just the super nice small town little girl he had once thought her to be, but he hadn't seen a single side of her that he wasn't completely in love with yet. He raised his eye brows and rolled his eyes, "You think I did't notice 50 Shades on the table already? I know Raelynn isn't buying that shit." She teased, poking Rebecca lightly in the ribs just to hear her giggle, "You're amazing."

The scene in front of them started getting worse and worse, but Becca didn't have the heart to close it when she heard the thud on the other side of the door. Well, my work here is done apparently. And Rae closed the laptop...so maybe we should follow their lead. Grabbing the iPad from him, she closed the tab and turned in his lap to kiss him. It was their night after all and she intended to make the most or it. Before she got much farther, her phone started going off from the chat, letting her know something was wrong. Babe, are you seeing this?

Liam grabbed her phone and looked at the alerts, "Well shit." He looked at Becca, "Maybe I should have mentioned that this didn't sound like a great plan, but you just looked so please with yourself." He cringed a little, but kept his arm tightly around her waist so she wouldn't stand up, "Come on, we should...go help I guess." Dang it, so much for baseball tonight.

Becca blushed and looked away. She knew he wasn't really accusing her of anything, but the implications were there. Maybe you should say something...someone has to be my voice of reason at some point. Not that she usually needed one, but when she messed up....well, it was go big or go home. Yea...I guess we should...probably start at the bars and work from there.

He groaned and leaned his head back, "No. You go to your sister. She is going to need you. I'll go look for Gemini." He stood up, picking her up so she wouldn't fall off his lap and placing her carefully on the ground, "Be careful. Love you." He kissed her forehead and walked into the kitchen, "Oh." He said, looking down at the counter, "I got you a key." He held it up so she could see where he was putting it and placed it back on the kitchen counter. That was just like Liam, to gloss over the whole key thing. He kind of mentally kicked himself for not thinking of taking it to dinner with him earlier, not that he even would have gotten that far.
