Ryan hadn't worked at the little mechanic shop in Calloway for very long but he was starting to like it. It was a small shop with maybe one more mechanic and the owner working there. Today was especially good because the owner had an out of town thing and the minute his co-work had found out he had only stopped in to open the shop up and then taken off leaving Ryan to fend for himself.
Ryan was content being left alone in the shop it just meant he could take as many smoke breaks as he wanted, work on what he wanted and when he wanted, and it meant he could blast classic rock instead of his co-workers preferred rap station The day was moving slow he had only a couple assignments that morning a tire rotation which was easy and a transmission replacement on an old Chevy, which wasn't an emergency just something the owner had asked him to work on while he was gone.
Even though it was earlier in the day Ryan had already managed to cover his arms and undershirt in oil and dirt and put another hole in his jeans. It was a good thing he didn't bother dressing nice for work. He grabbed a rag wiping some of the grease off his hands and shoved the
rag in his back pocket. He grabbed his menthol cigarettes off one of the tool boxes stepping outside of the garage lighting one. Most people would have thought he was crazy standing out in the fall air in his undershirt but with his core temperature running so high the cool breeze barely touched him.

The ability to summon weapons allows Danielle to take any weapon within her line of sight, barring complications such as super strength or another more powerful telumkinetic. She is limited to only two weapons at a time, though she only usually takes one unless she's going for a bow and arrows. They always land safely in her palm with no chances of impalement, even if she turns around or moves her hand. The only way for this to injure another person is if they step in to the path of an incoming weapon before it switches directions. Her definition of the word weapon can be pretty broad, as she can summon anything that she has the intent to use as a weapon or that she has seen used as a weapon before, such as a belt.

Dani hadn't intended to go to town that day, but Gem had changed all that nonsense in a hurry. Apparently, his dad had declared a father/son day, but the car needed an oil change and stat. Of course she had offered off handedly to help him out by driving his baby in to town to get it done, but never in a million years did she think he would actually say yes, much less hand over the keys and tell her to have fun. He must be sick or still trying to make up for the whole "kissing Rae" incident.
There weren't many mechanics in town, so her options were limited. Pulling up to the one that she knew the most about, she threw the Mazda in park and then went looking for someone to help her. It didn't take long for her to find a guy, probably a little older than her, outside smoking a cigarette. Hey, is the owner in today? I just need an oil change real quick and I'll get out of everyone's hair. Technically she could've done it her self, but there was no way in a thousand years she would admit that to Gem. Guys felt threatened when you did something like change a tire. Weird, but common.

Ryan had saw the Mazda pull up but hadn't bothered to move from his spot, he wanted to finish his cigarette first. He wished he could say he'd moved past social ideals of gender but he hadn't and he was surprised to see a young dark haired girl as the assumed owner of the car. He smiled at her when she spoke No he's not, he's actually out of town. Oil change though, I can do that. He subtly looked her up and down. She was cute and had a nice car. He chucked the cigarette on the ground smooshing it out with his boot before heading back toward where Dani parked the car. Nice car, you don't see a lot of them, well not around Here at least. Ryan had spent most of his time working on old trucks and boring sedans since starting.

Dani nodded, handing him the keys so he could do whatever he needed to with the Mazda. She wasn't about to try to drive it in to the shop herself. Eh. I'm more partial to motorcycles, but she is beautiful and I'm the only person besides Gem that gets to drive her. Realizing that she had accidentally said something about Gem, she mentally slapped herself. Here was this hot guy and she was talking about her...well, to be honest, with the way things were going he probably wasn't going to be her anything much longer. Becca and Aurora had left her so paranoid that she couldn't stand it and that wasn't the basis of a normal relationship, much less an open one. Sorry, it's my best friend's car. He ended up busy so he let me bring her in. Not a lie, not the whole truth either. She should feel much worse about this than she did.

Ryan took the keys from her. He smiled it wasn't often that girl commented on a car the way this one was. That's because motorcycles are cooler. He pointed to his that was parked not too far from where they were at. The name Gem caught his attention. Gem? Like Gemini Cooper? He studied the car, it made sense at least in connection with who it seemed Gemini had become. He pulled the rag out from his back pocket and wiped it again making sure it was clean of grease I'd say so because If Gemini Cooper can't change the oil in his own car I'm going to kick his ass. He reached his hand out toward Dani Ryan by the way.. Hm. The best friend... He tilted his head to the side studying her, Gemini had hot best friends. You must be Dani. He recalled her name from the conversation from a couple nights ago.

Best friend/girlfriend hybrid. He doesn't do labels and it works...well, most of the time. Gem is gem, but if you know him then you probably are fully aware of that. I could've changed it but I think it would've hurt his pride. Her last foster father had been a mechanic and since he intended to adopt her at the time, he had made sure she knew at least the basics. Cars fascinated her though and having an adult that actually wanted to spend time with her was new, so she hung around the shop more than he intended. Reaching out to shake his hand, Dani tried to figure out why the name Ryan sounded familiar. Then it dawned on her. Ryan...his best friend from back home? Small world. I inherited your headache. She laughed, her tone obviously teasing. Gemini was one of the best parts of her life, even if he could be a bit of a pain.

Ryan laughed Yeah, you never want to step on a man's pride. Especially a Gemini sized pride, but that's cool you know how to do it, it's important Gemini had always been prideful not as cocky when it came to girls but in general. Ryan had always assumed that's why they worked, Gemini was in your face and he was a little bit more relaxed. His eyebrows went up Oh So you've heard of me? Awh c'mon. He can't be that bad. Ryan opened the door to the Mazda getting in and starting the ignition nawh he can be that bad. He said with a small chuckle knowing full well she was joking before closing the door to move the car. It only took a few moments before he had the car in the shop where he needed it. He started gathering up the supplies he needed for the oil change So hybrid He looked over at her with a playful smile What do YOU do?
