kind of a dark night - open to teachers!

The room was eerily gloomy that night, as Claire fell into the couch and sighed. It was raining outside and she never could tell if it was a student influenced storm or a real one. She had hoped it was a normal storm, because the student powered ones generally went one of two ways; they only last a few seconds and then when the hormones stopped the sun would be shining again, or they would end up being so infused with lightening that a building would burn down. Neither of those options ever worked out very well and they were always, always annoying.

The power flickered on for a second before humming to a halt. It had been out for over an an hour now and the constant turning on and off of the lights was making Claire get a headache, "Dang, seriously?" She groaned, falling sideways on to the couch. She needed to grade essays and that wasn't going to happen without her laptop, which had died over half an hour ago.
