What are my strengths regarding my powers? I'm ninety five with the body of a man in my 20's, What do you think it is? I guess I've been able to gain a lot of knowledge about the world. Travel from place to place, meet a lot of pretty dames. Other than that's its pretty worthless, I can still get cancer, I can still get the flu, if someone wants to cement my feet and toss me into the bay, well I guess I'd be swimmin' with the fishes. You know what the real downer is? If I manage to avoid all those things, I'll probably end up having to bury my wife and son. Everyone I know dies before I do.

Jasper had been distracted that day getting a hold of Gemini had been a nightmare, he wouldn't answer his phone. He was never in his dorm. The only reason he had come out to Calloway was to keep an eye on his son and yet he couldn't even find him most of the time. Gemini had seemed withdrawn lately and it was worrying him, Gem wasn't the kind of kid to be withdrawn, at least not from his wife and him. Then there was the call he had gotten before he came about Gemini disappearing for days off of campus, not including earlier at the beginning of school. Despite his superhuman longevity Gemini was going to give him gray hair.
He looked over the attendance sheet he had forgotten to take it at the beginning of class. He noticed a familiar name on it Danielle. Gemini had mentioned a Danielle quite a few times over the years. They should still be friends, if it was even the right girl.
When time was up he dismissed the class and turned to erase the white board to prepare for the next one. Danielle, can I speak to you for a moment? He asked as the rest of class was piling out the door.

The ability to summon weapons allows Danielle to take any weapon within her line of sight, barring complications such as super strength or another more powerful telumkinetic. She is limited to only two weapons at a time, though she only usually takes one unless she's going for a bow and arrows. They always land safely in her palm with no chances of impalement, even if she turns around or moves her hand. The only way for this to injure another person is if they step in to the path of an incoming weapon before it switches directions. Her definition of the word weapon can be pretty broad, as she can summon anything that she has the intent to use as a weapon or that she has seen used as a weapon before, such as a belt.

Dani was just putting up her stuff in her bag to head to training when the new music teacher stopped her. Sure. She liked the class, but she had a problem with most authority figures in general. Call it a byproduct of living in a rough neighborhood with some of the worst foster parents and teachers available. At least she was just wary though and not all out disrespectful like her brother could be. "Yes sir? Is everything alright? More like what did I do now? but that was beside her current point.

Jasper was pleasantly surprised that Danielle didn't have the horrible attitude her brother possessed, though her assumption that there was something wrong purely because he wanted to talk to her was concerning. Yes, everything is fine. You shouldn't assume it wouldn't be. He moved to sit on the edge of his desk unsure how to approach the subject. He knew Gemini wasn't thrilled with people knowing about their family situation, though here it shouldn't be as much of a problem. I had a question about another student, You're friends with Gemini, correct? He didn't bother using last names, how many Gemini's could there be. He had begged his wife to name their son something more sensible but what the woman wanted she got. I've been trying to get a hold of him but it's been really difficult and He hasn't been showing up for classes at all, even this one.

"What do you want with Gem?" She asked warily. Dani knew that he sometimes told people that he had an older brother, but he never really talked about it. His family was mostly off limits to everyone, even her. Still, the name Jasper sounded like his dad's. Maybe Jasper was a family name? "He never goes to class unless he's trying to impress someone, despite our best efforts. And his phone hasn't been right ever since the accident, so good luck catching him there. The only way I get ahold of him is showing up at his room unannounced or if he decides we're doing something together and comes to get me." that was the best he was getting until she knew who this guy was to Gem. Their last names were the same, but that didn't mean much to her. He could be some ex-fling's brother for all she knew.

He raised his eyebrows at her, though he wasn't upset. It was kind of sweet and all her being a bit protective. He was a little surprised that if this girl was such good friends with him that his family hadn't come up. Yeah I've noticed from the report cards that Gemini doesn't enjoy attending class. I've tried the dorm room apparently I always pick the wrong time. Anyway, things have been weird with my son and he's not acting like himself and I guess I'm getting desperate. There he had said though he attempted to slip 'son' in there nonchalantly as to not make a big deal about it. It's bad enough he hasn't been home in forever. Autumn was getting increasingly more upset every time Gemini would call right before break and tell them he had something else to do but considering he was eighteen they didn't have much control over the situation.

Your...son? Dani asked tentatively. Well, that would explain the whole brother thing and why Gem never seemed to have current pictures of his dad. Oh my God...Mr. Cooper, umm, I.. Alright, maybe she needed to text someone to go find Gem. This was definitely NOT how meeting the parents was supposed to go down. I'm sorry about Gem not coming home, that's my fault. I have to stay at the school year round because I don't have...well, I don't have a home. He stays with me so I won't be alone. Ever since her first summer at Ashford, Gem had stayed behind with her. It hadn't occurred to her that his parents weren't coming to visit or that he wasn't making small trips home. He had just always been there.

Yeah, as you can imagine things were weird back at home. I'm sure most people assume that Gem's dad ran out and left his mother with two boys. Now they probably just assume my wife is a cougar. Maybe that's why she'd been pestering him for a divorce. She didn't want the judgement anymore. He was both proud that his son wasn't completely selfish but his face became concerned when she mentioned not having a home. Slow down dear, It's not at all your fault. My wife has just been missing her son. Don't tell Gem I told you but he's a bit of a Momma's boy. I wish he had mentioned that he was staying for you because of your predicament. You would have been more than welcome to visit with him if you wanted. He gathered up some papers of sheet music tapping them against the desk to organize them together. So you two have been friends for awhile then?

I probably wouldn't have gone. New authority figures give my brother and I the creeps, so we try to avoid them whenever we can. Thanks for the offer though. Fin was worse than her about it on any given day, but dani had her fair share of battle scars too. Three particularly pronounced ones on her back came to mind, making her shudder. Still, it was better to be honest with Gem's dad so that things went better if he found out they were a thing. Without labels, Dani wasn't going to volunteer the information. Gem was the first person I met when I got here. We've been inseparable ever since. Actually, other than the accident, I can't remember going more than a few hours without hearing from him in like, two years. Maybe more. had it really been that long? Time had flown since then and, thinking back on it, Dani couldn't believe it had taken this long for something to happen between them. It was an amazing thought.

He tried to remind himself that at some point in his long life he had been just as angry and rebellious as a lot of the children around Ashford with their broken homes and damaged pasts. Sometimes it helped, sometimes he wanted to smack them upside the head and other times he wanted to hug his son for primarily being a happy even if he was a handful. Well the offer still stands whenever and If you ever need to talk, You can always find me. Jasper knew Dani probably wouldn't come to him but he figured he'd throw the offer out on the table. Ah, the accident, the other thing my son has been vague on except when handing me the bill for the mechanic. Jasper wished he'd been in town, he would have fixed the damn thing himself and saved the money in labor which is where it all racked up. I'm glad my son has been a good friend to you, I'm surprised you've stuck around from what I hear He's quite the playboy.

It really wasn't his fault sir. He was trying to help out his ex girlfriend who had been stranded outside of town with car trouble and then fell asleep at the wheel trying to get to the next town. Sure, he should've taken someone with him, but he was attempting something...noble? Stupid, but noble. This whole conversation was starting to make her a little nervous. A stray piece of hair fell in her face and she hesitantly pushed it out, trying not to dwell on the fact that she could be making a bad impression on her best friend and lover's father.If she messed this up, it could mess up everything. I'm sure he's just been busy. I'll try to get him over here soon, if he'll listen. He and classes just don't mix well, never have.

As he had grown Gemini had started to give Jasper a constant feeling of both being proud and wanting to backhand him. Sometimes he could be exactly the the kind of kid Jasper had intended to raise and then he'd do something stupid like fall asleep at the wheel of his car, skip school or find it impossible to keep it in his pants. He chuckled softly Well it seems that if there was a definition by Gemini's name in the dictionary it would Stupid but Noble. Oh, I know. That's why he had to be home schooled before he came here. Autumn and I got really tired of the parent/teacher meetings, I was hoping Ashford would help him with that but it seems I was wrong. You seem to be doing very well though, at least in my class. You're a very good musician.

I don't blow of class as much as Gem does, but I don't think it'll do me much good to have the grades. The only university I'm ever getting in to is this one. All the Ashford graduates were accepted pretty much automatically, so she knew she could go. The state would even pay for her tuition, room, and board like they had since she had been here. It was just the want to go that she lacked. Either she was leaving first thing for the military or she'd end up staying there forever. Probably working some minimum wage job for one of the families that had been here since the beginning of time. That was just her lot in life. Gem is a great guy, Mr. Cooper... school just isn't his thing. He'd rather be doing something than sitting in class. Maybe if we had something like a vo-tech he'd be better off.
