Nathan has the ability to manipulate a person's health. In general this is limited to small wounds such as a minor stab or cut, some broken bones, and minor illnesses. A long day at work had lead Nathan down to the Oasis. Between a woman who looked like a dead ringer for Jessia, the mother of his children, and a little girl with the same deep blue eyes and dark brown hair as his Aria, he was spent. Who knew that coming back home would be so...destructive? Maybe that was why he practically ran to the bar instead of home where he could've relaxed for a little while. Right now he wanted cheap bear and maybe some friendly conversation to keep himself preoccupied. The Oasis seemed to be a little quiet for the time of day, but it wasn't like this was a big city anyways. Most of the patrons were students with fake i.d.'s and classes hadn't left yet for the evening. Oh well, might as well drink anyways before they got here to annoy the bartender with all of their funky combinations. Jasper’s first few days in town had been pretty boring, a lot of school stuff talking to the principal, paper work and all of those fun tidbits. He hadn’t even managed to spend any real quality time with Gemini yet, only a few minutes to drop off some items Gem had asked him to get out of the attic for a friend’s birthday. He was hoping he’d be able to at least grab a bite of dinner with his son in the very near future. He felt like he hadn’t seen him in person in forever, which was probably the truth since Gemini had stopped coming home during vacations a few years ago.
Jasper finished his cigarette outside the door of the hole in the wall bar, stuffing it in an ash tray. It wasn’t pretty but as long as he could get a strong drink that was all that mattered.
Opening the door to the bar he immediately noticed that there weren’t many occupants in the bar, mainly the bartender and an ‘older’ gentleman. He strolled over to the bar and ordered a glass of bourbon whiskey. Nothing fancy, just something strong. He slid into one of the bar stools arms folded on top of the bar. He gave the older man a nod while the bartender poured his drink. How y’doin?

" About as well as it gets, all things considered." He replied after a moment, returning the younger man's nod. From the looks of it, he was suffering from the work day blues as well. Maybe it was just going around town and the only cure was alcohol. If that was the case, he was going to need something stronger than a beer to get over this funk. Turning on his stool to where he could face the stranger, Nathan signalled for the bartender to bring him another beer. He'd figure out something better to drink later. " So, what brings you down to the lonely heart's club? So far we're on par for work, women, and kids." the bartender wasn't down, but he had had a story or two about a wayward teenager a little while ago. Kids just couldn't be uncomplicated. Jasper took a sip of his drink.He angled himself on his bar stool so he was able to look at the other man. Are there any other problems out there? Maybe cars. One thing Jasper had come to enjoy about Calloway in the few days he had been in town was that he didn't have to constantly worry about filtering himself. No one would believe how annoying it was to constantly have to try and adjust your story to that of a twenty-three year old when you had seen so much more. Most people wrote you off as young and stupid when Jasper wanted nothing more than to inform them that he was dealing with those problems before they were sparkles in their parents eyes, so not to lecture him.
I've got all three plus car trouble. He scowled thinking about the bill Gem had given him with the estimate to fix the body work on the Mazda along with the receipt from the mechanics shop. Mostly my kid though. I haven't seen him in person in a real long time but he's off doing that teenager thing and getting a hold of him has been a nightmare. He spun around and eyed the Pool table. It had been awhile since he played. What about you?

Nathan grimaced, taking a drink as he did. " That's rough man, but a problem I'd pay to have. Haven't seen my babies since they were toddlers. Aria would be eighteen soon, Dani and Fin are turning seventeen. Damn the woman who took them straight to hell, may she already be there." He raised his glass in a mock salute to his dead ex-girlfriend and sat it back down on the bar. Part of him had never stopped loving Jess, but the she-devil had done some unforgivable things. Oh well, at least he had the alcohol. " How old is your boy? I didn't peg you as old enough to have a teenager, but around here you never know." I'm quite sorry to hear that I couldn't imagine how that must feel.He raised his glass as well Women. Though he was lucky that his son was grown and there were no messing custody agreements he couldn't help but be angry at Autumn for all of a sudden wanting to separate, he had managed to commit to her and here she was throwing it away. Jasper didn't want to pry into a strangers life but he had to wonder where the last place his children had been and if there was a possible way to track them down. He eyed the pool tables, it had been awhile since he played. Taking his drink with him he moved to the pool table. He sat his glass down on a nearby table. He grabbed a pool stick and a chalk cube. He just turned eighteen in May. He attends Ashford, though I use the word attends very loosely. Spends too much time chasing dames. Not enough time attending class.

Nathan chuckled and stood up to follow the guy over to the pool table. Sounds like my kinda kid. Just pray he never meets my daughters. If either of them turned out like their mother or my brother, they'll probably kill him. that's all the world needed was two brown haired, blue eyed girls with their mother's spirit and Riley's temper. Some days he wondered where they were now. I've thought about going up to the school to see if I could find them on the rolls, but the she-devil took my rights before she died. Blackmailed me in to leaving them and then filed for abandonment.Riley had assured him that in a few months they would start looking for Aria, but with Dani and Fin's fast approaching birthday, things were so much worse. You never know, maybe the kid will settle down soon. All it takes is the right girl. Sure, we seem to be par for the course, but here's to your boy having better luck with the ladies then we have. Jasper watched Nathan sink the ball into the pocket. He had to sympathize with the guy he couldn't imagine if Autumn had taken Gemini away from him, though at the same time abandoning fathers didn't sit well with him, what if the guy was lying.Though even if he was and he had abandon his kids he obviously wanted to make amends and there was something to be said for that.He could always check the rosters for his children though he was sure there was probably some regulation against it. Though after ninety-five years on this planet jail time and some time spent with some questionable individuals he didn't really care about rules. Well you're in luck, I am the music teacher at Ashford. Give me their names and I'll check my class roster at least. It won't guarantee they're not there but it's something. Jasper bent down lining the pool stick up and sunk the blue solid into the left corner pocket. I hope he does for his own sake, life is too short for most. It took him and seventy seven years for me too settle down. Unfortunately my son doesn't have that kind of time.

Very few of us do, and less of us have a chance to turn back time. If I knew then what I do now, I would've walked away with those kids and brought them straight back here to Ashford. The principal would've handled it and then you and I might be having a pleasant conversation about those car troubles. Reaching for his glass, Nathan contemplated whether or not to take up Jasper's offer. The courts had banned him from going to find the kids, but if they were here that was a game changer. They technically didn't live in the same town and he could see them if they came willing or it was an accident.
Reaching in to his wallet, he gently took out the one picture he had left of all three kids together. This is them. Aria, Danielle, and Finley Rockefellar. The name is Nathan Kotney by the way, I run the clinic in town. My brother is a cop if you can't find me there. Riley probably wouldn't mind the misuse of the 911 system if it meant finding his nieces and nephews. Poor guy never even got the chance to meet them.

Jasper Cooper. He offered his hand as he glanced over the picture that Nathan showed him. The children in the picture were very young basically babies, the kids could look like anything now, though there was something familiar about the littlest girls blue eyes. When he said their names it clicked and Jasper smiled I just had a conversation with Danielle the other day apparently my son and your daughter are attached at the hip. Finley is in my last period. Unfortunately I don't know Aria I just started so she could be there and I don't recognize her, or she's not in my class. Jasper had a lot of students and a lot of names and faces to recognize Finley and Danielle stuck out because he had personal interactions with them and Danielle he had to make a note to remember because she might be the only person to reel Gemini in.

The revelation almost brought Nathan to his knees. Of course, he had assumed that the kids would be there, but he had never dreamed someone would dare to separate them. It made sense though. When mother had attempted to file for visitation the authorities had hesitated and then denied it, a sure sign that one or more of them had been adopted. Two of them were less than a five minute drive away though, and technically he wasn't going against any court orders. He could see them as long as they found him or they happened to be in the right place. My...my boy is here. And my littlest girl. I wonder what they did with my Aria. Surely she'd be in your class, and her mother was so smart... His voice trailed off as he remembered the tidbit about the boy being friendly with Danielle. Are they dating? Is she happy? What about finley...it might not even be them. Surely the name rockefellar is a common one. His common sense hit him like a ton of bricks, but it didn't stop that speck of hope from rising up.

Jasper raised his eyebrows as Nathan fired questions at him. There was no judgement though he could only imagine what this man must be feeling. There's always a possibility that Aria is there too I unfortunately don't recognize the face or the name so I can't confirm nor deny, and really I can't confirm or deny any of them just that I do have a Danielle and Finley Rockefellar in my classes. Jasper tried to keep up with his questions as he leaned over lining up another shot. It dawned on him that he didn't know whether Gemini and Dani were in a relationship or not, knowing Gemini it was not but he also hoped his son had managed to keep it in his pants when it came to Nathan's daughter too. That was not a conversation Jasper wanted to be having, He was thankful with guys like Gemini and Himself back in the day that he never had a daughter. I think they're just best friends, But I'm not sure. She seems happy enough, for a teenager. Unfortunately his run in with Danielle hadn't left him with much to give Nathan except that Danielle seemed like a nice girl and that his son obviously felt something deep for her to avoid coming home all these years. Danielle is a great musician, She seems like a sweet girl. Gemini and Her have been friends for quite some time Jasper sighed when Nathan asked about Finley how do you tell a man his son is a brat? Oh right. Finley... Well, Finley has an attitude problem if we're being honest. I haven't had much interaction with him besides him smarting off but at least from what I've observed He's protective over Danielle, he doesn't have a lot of friends though, just one other girl. Jasper took another sip of his drink, leaning the pool stick against the table. Please remember that this is all purely observation from a teachers stand point. He didn't want to give Nathan false information about his potential children.

Nathan found the chair behind him and slumped down in to it. An exasperated chuckle somehow made its way forth, especially at the mention of Finley. I would take offense if it didn't sound like he takes after his uncle. Headstrong, stubborn boys, but he'll turn out well. I guarantee it. Speaking of Riley, he needed to call his brother immediately. This was a family matter and the family would handle it. I can't thank you enough. For so long they've been just out of reach...now there's a shimmer of hope. walking over to the bar, he ordered two more drinks and paid off Jasper's tab. It was the least he could do.
