get me with those green eyes baby as the lights go down give me something that'll haunt me when you're not around  With Ashford being in the middle of Yellowstone National Park, there were many places a girl could take a guitar and practice. Today, Raelynn was cutting class and sitting on a bench over looking the Grand Prismatic Lake. It was not too far from Old Faithful and the colors were vibrant. There was a wave of heat radiating off of the hot spring and the warmth made Raelynn feel more at home as she strummed at her guitar and sang little tunes that floated in her head all the time. There were one or two people on other parts of the wooden walkway around the large, sulfurous sink-hole but otherwise it was relatively lonely here. Which was perfect. A few tourists looked at her as she played, and they pulled out their phone to take a picture of her. She winked and kept singing, turning her head to look at the Lake and away from the onlookers.

In all the years he had been a live he had never made it to Yellowstone , He’d gone to Europe, He’d been to New York and Los Angeles but somehow had never found any reason to visit Yellowstone. Tris was from this place maybe that’s why he had never visited subconsciously avoiding it because he couldn’t face her, though at the same time he had yet to make it to the grand canyon and there was no hidden meaning in that, he just wasn’t interested in a big hole in the ground.
He had taken the taken off from teaching to sort out some stuff out with his wife, their relationship was on rocky ground and he wasn’t looking forward to the conversation with Gemini if he couldn’t manage to talk his wife out of a divorce, which Jasper didn’t believe in at all.
He had found himself down by the Grand Prismatic Lake. The different colors were captivating that was for sure and he could see the appeal of the few tourists around taking pictures. A few tourists not taking pictures of the lake but a young blonde on a bench playing guitar caught his eye. He was very talented but she seemed to already know that as she posed for pictures, he admired her confidence. He strolled up adjusting his glasses on his face. He had forgotten to remove them when he was done staring over some paperwork back at home and they were getting annoying. If all the circumstances were right he would have hit on her by asking for her autograph but he was married and a teacher, he’d had to just pass the idea along to Gemini. You have a very pretty voice. He studied her face for a second trying to figure out if he could place her in one of his classes but he was coming up blank.

She started, "I recently moved back here from Las Vegas." With all her chatter, she hadn't really considered his name. Well I look forward to having you in my class, I hope it's entertaining Trying to keep young people interested was difficult but he hated having bored students, music should never be boring and he tried to make things as interesting as possible even when they had to cover some of the not so interesting parts of music. Ah. Vegas, I've been to Vegas a few times over the years, counted some cards, chased some girls. It's a very exciting town. I'm surprised you traded it in for something as mundane as Calloway. Some of that was probably information he shouldn't be telling a student but after a certain point you just stop caring about the rules. He just assumed that Gemini had told Raelynn that he had a brother, it was what they told everyone for years in Seattle to cover up Jasper's young appearance. No, Unfortunately I will have to take responsibility for at least 50% of Gemini's genetics, though sometimes the way he acts I think it might be more. He often wished that he could change his son's behavior and prove to him what it really wasn't worth it, that commitment wasn't such a bad thing that for the right girl it would be totally worth it. He felt guilty as he realized his mind went to Tris and not Autumn. So whatever my son has done to you, I'll just apologize on his behalf because he probably got it from me.

Raelynn shook her head frantically, not having wanted to offend the only teacher she would probably like, "No, no. Gemini didn't tell me he was your brother. I just assume because you're so young...I'm sorry." She slouched a little, giving him an apologetic stare. That's when her mind did a double take, "Wait, you're his father?" She asked, smiling brightly, "You must have a really awesome power." She crossed her legs at the knee and propped her head on her head, thinking about what sort of power would allow him to look so young. Raelynn frowned slightly, distracted from her thoughts by his random apology, "Why are you sorry? I think Gemini is..." She smiled to herself, despite the pang of longing she felt in her chest, "...charming." She knew her face must be beet red and she hoped that Professor Cooper would attribute the sun, rather than feelings. |
