THE SIMPLER THE COMMAND THE EASIER IT IS TO CONTROL THE ANIMALS. RAVEN PREFERS TO JUST ASK THE ANIMAL IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN CONTROL THEM. Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me
She wasn't entirely sure if she should be happy or concerned to have someone plan an unforgettable party for her. Figuring he might forget about it later she decided to just smile and put the thought in the back of her mind. That was still a little ways away. Raven did have to laugh at him mentioning that whatever she heard was most likely true. It showed he had a sense of humor. That was a good thing and it always made for interesting conversations or antics. She also had a habit of looking at the bright side of things, and people. Whatever their past she never judged without first getting to know someone. After being alone and depressed for so long it was the only way she stayed out of that slump.
Twelve fun facts? Now that was something she wasn't sure she could do. She felt like she had already said too much with the whole birthday thing. She had to be careful with what she said. "Well for one I don't like being put on the spot, thank you very much" She was being sassy and slightly sarcastic. It was true though, she wasn't much one for attention. Raven decided to sit down at on the edge of the fountain and took another sip of her drink. "Um ok... I hate coffee. Like the smell but not the taste. My favorite pet is my snake but don't tell the cats. Ummmm...I find this very difficult but will complete the list cause I like a good challenge" She laughed at that little bit of information. How many was that so far four, maybe five if she counted the coffee thing as two. "I absolutely love reading. Love older movies and just about anything sci-fi. So that is seven, five more, lets see..." Raven trailed off as she looked up at the sky. "Ok so total given, I love anything to do with animals. History is my least favorite subject, I can memorize animal bone structure faster than dates it is ridiculous. Swimming is one of my favorite past times, Ralph was my first friend I made here" Raven paused again, this time more for effect than thinking. She knew exactly what she wanted to say. "And my favorite fun fact, I first discovered my power when volunteering at an animal sanctuary we were helping a tiger cub who was very sick. It was just the coolest experience ever, I spent that whole evening just talking to the cup to help him feel better" Raven still loved that memory. She jumped up and turned to face Gem with more of a sly smile on her face. "Now it's your turn"

Gem has super human agility this allows him to have quicker than normal reactions to things. In battle it can aid him in reacting quickly to attack. He can also launch attacks quicker. His agility abilities have saved many plates and other items from falling on the floor and breaking. He can also use it to catch pretty girls from falling which is one of his favorite benefits.
Unfortunately it's more of a defensive power and so it's not as useful if he needs to do an offensive attack. Due to the fast speeds he can move at it can leave him open to making mistakes.

Gem playfully recoiled when She said she didn’t like being put on the spot. I like a sassy girl He said teasingly. Gem continued swirling the water with his fingers as he listened carefully to her twelve facts trying to absorb all the information. He had become a pretty good listener over the years, it really aided when you were trying to sweet talk a girl.
See that wasn’t that bad now was it? He said when she finished. Coffee is amazing so you’re crazy, Your secret is safe with me I promise not to tell your cats, and What kind of old movies?
He should have been more prepared when he a purposed the twelve fact challenge as he now struggled to think of twelve facts himself. Well, I like to party and I like girls, but you probably have always heard that. Well that’s two..hmm.. I was home schooled for a little while because my parents got sick of me being in trouble then they sent me to Ashford because they were afraid they couldn’t control me when my powers showed up. Gem had no problem sharing information about himself he really didn’t have any secrets. I’m from Seattle, So I love Coffee… I once got kicked out of school for plastic wrapping my math teachers car when I was supposed to be in class. What was that six? Dani is my best friend, She’s probably the only girl I truly love. Maybe it’s because it’s not romantic. Well there’s Becca but.. ugh I almost married a stripper in Vegas. He shook his head That would have been a mess Four more I like roller coasters and really anything that can give me an adrenaline rush… I like horror movies He tapped his fingers on the edge of the fountain biting his lip trying to think of the last two I’m usually the worst boyfriend on the planet so I don’t do it often… and I love music, any kind. Oldies, Pop Punk, Metal, Rap. It’s all good. He finished with a nod, recounting in his head. Yep twelve

"Then I will proudly be crazy. I will take tea any day over Coffee" Raven teased. There was something about the taste of Coffee that wasn't appealing to her. Tea though was amazing. She loved all typed of tea and would drink it all the time if she could. She laughed a the comment about her cats. They would be upset if they knew they weren't her favorite even if the snake did know. Her snake seamed to know everything and have all the answers. Granted she had the snake the longest of all of her pets.
What kind of movies? "As far as movies are concerned I like older war movies, horror and the traditional romance. Movies with a good plot and charm" She loved a good movie and did enjoy Horror as well. She listened to his list and felt somewhat bad about the whole thing with his parents but she knew that there were many kids at Ashford who had similar relations with their parents. She also felt bad about the whole boyfriend thing. She wanted to say he hadn't met the right girl yet or something like that but figured it was best to talk about something more upbeat.
Stripper in Vegas? That was something she really wanted to inquire about. It sounded like a funny story. "Almost married a stripper? Now that sounds like the story of the year" Raven laughed.

Well maybe I can take you to get a cup of tea or something sometime. He said flashing a smile. Though he didn't figure She'd take him up on his offer which hurt his ego a bit, he really needed to start meeting different girls.
I seriously have all the old school ones as well as the new ones. Gem really loved horror movies, the suspense and the adrenaline rush. He even liked the cheesy ones and had set out to collect all of them he could though. It used to be something him and Becca did, now he watched them with Dani when they were feeling lazy. {b] Classic romance movies huh? like Breakfast and Tiffany's or Dirty Dancing kind of classic romance.His mom had probably made him watch both too many times to count.
Gem laughed Yeah it was quite an event. I can't remember the girls name.. Well I couldn't then either. Who knows what her real name was. Either way I took Ralph out on the town in Vegas I got super super drunk, like I'm kind of amazed I'm still alive drunk. Proposed to a stripper under the false pretense that I was related to Paris Hilton, who I'm not even sure is relevant anymore? Anyway. So Dani had to come rescue me. Or at least I think That's what happened. It's still a little fuzzy... he smiled to himself remembering the events, that had definitely been a week. When we go on another adventure you should come with us. It really wasn't a question of If just when, thought he doubted Dani would allow him out of her sight next time.

She wasn't sure if she should accept his offer to just be polite of if she really wouldn't mind getting a drink with the guy in front of her. She didn't want to give the wrong impression. She never dated so the prospect of it was kind of scary and she also could see herself dating Gem. But she did enjoy hanging out with people. "I might take you up on that offer. It could be fun" She gave a warm smile as she spoke. She never turned down the chance to go to a tea shop.
"That is an impressive sounding collection" She was quite sincere. Having such a movie collection would have taking a lot of time and energy to gather. He had every right to be proud of it. She shook her head at the titles he mentioned. "Think more black and white and period pieces, not that Breakfast at Tiffany's or Dirty Dancing aren't good movies" That didn't mean she didn't like a good modern film, just the older ones had a nice charm. They also spoke in a way that wasn't used today and she really enjoyed that.
She had to laugh when he told his story. Ralph drunk and Dani saving the day. It was quite a tale. She could not imagine Ralph getting drunk, considering he viewed alcohol as a poison but she figured it was Vegas. Though hearing that Dani saved the day didn't shock her. "That really sounds like an adventure" She chuckled. She was somewhat honored that he invited her on the next trip. "I just might have to, if only to see all the crazy antics my friends tend to get into".

I look forward to you expanding my tea knowledge. I promise I’m good company.. The only tea Gem had had was iced black tea and green tea either one was okay, and the occasional cup of tea with honey when your throat hurts was always nice. That was about the extension of his tea knowledge, but he loved learning new things purely for the knowledge so Hey it could be fun.
So are we talking more like Casablanca? He hoped he was getting warmer, again movies fell under one of those things that Gem enjoyed doing just to know he had seen it. The problem with Gem watching movies was getting him to sit still long enough to watch a movie. He often got bored and would end up doing something else and missing most of the movie.
Remembering he had packed a bottle of water he dug in his backpack pulling it out taking a drink. Oh, If you come with us. You won’t be watching the shenanigans. I will make very sure you’re involved. No person gets left behind when we get into a mess. Have you met Alaska or Rae yet?

Raven loved watching movies. Provided it was a good movie of course. Besides reading watching a good older movie was one of her go to past times. Just being able to curl up on a comfy couch, chair or even the bed to watch a movie was a cup of hot tea and popcorn was the best late night activity. "Yeah more like that, Casablanca, The Count of Monte Cristo. Those types" Raven sated. His guess were getting a lot better.
The idea of getting into the middle of the mess was a foreign concept for Raven. Sure she liked a good party but she never went wild. She was always careful, but maybe wondering out of her comfort zone was a good idea. If she was with friends it would be alright, she hoped. "No I haven't met Alaska or Rae" She admitted. She knew Becca and from what she had heard Rae and Becca were twins but she never had the pleasure of meeting the two girls mentioned. She would have no problem meeting them though.
She checked her phone and realized the time. "I'm going to start heading back to the school. Don't like being late. It was really nice meeting you. Now I have a face to the name" She gave a warm smile as she put her phone back in her bag. It wasn't a long walk to the school and she still had time to make it and be somewhat early .

Gem put his water bottle away and checked his own phone. If he left now he had time to shower and change and maybe go to class. Though the reality was he probably wouldn't again. Why his parents thought Ashford was going to be better than traditional school was beyond him. Oh well. He could at least pretend.
Yeesh, I didn't realize it was that late. He tucked his phone in the pocket of his hoodie It was nice meeting you too Raven. You should let me walk you back to school. and You have promise me you won't forget about our tea "date" He made the quotation marks with his fingers. He slung the backpack over one arm and started heading back toward the school.
