Classes were going to start back up and Raven figured the best way to spend the last bit of break was at the hot springs. She often came to the resort and the springs. Enough that the concierge knew her name and she just had to call ahead and her usually room would be waiting. It was one of the perks of being rich. Her parents might hate her but they would never disown or cut her off. If anything they would give her all the money she needed in order to have her stay out of their lives. She received a large allowance every month that she barely used. Some when to the apartment the rest into savings and a generous donation to the local wildlife sanctuary. Even after that there was a substation amount left so going to the hot springs often was in the budget.
She loved the relaxing feel of the springs and was sitting in one with her head leaned back against the rock face. She smiled and let out a sigh of relief. This was how everyday should feel. She was by herself and was enjoying the quiet. Not that she wouldn't mind company as long as they weren't wanting to be loud as well. She was looking forward to the classes starting. she loved to learn and being around cool people was always a plus. yea post!!! and trying out the new template |

| California had been amazing, but Dani was still ready to get back to Calloway by the time it was over. Having only spent a few days a year away from the sleepy town since she arrived, she had almost started thinking of it like a home of sorts.
A trip to the hot springs by herself was in order whenever the rest of the group dispersed to go do their own things. Even Ralph was persona-non-grata(sp?) this time and she hadn't been away from him for more than a few hours since her incident down at the lake. He was like a big, cuddly guard dog in a lot of ways.
She didn't have the money to go through the resort, so Dani hitched a ride over there and snuck in instead. It wasn't the first time or the last that she had done something like that, but she had never been caught before by pretty much anyone. Her street cred would suffer if people foudnd out she did things like that, even if she didn't care what other people genuinely thought.
Once she was inside the areas, she made ehr way to her favorite place to rest, only to find Ralph's friend Raven sitting there. At first she considered turning back, but she had come too far for that. Instead she decided to call out to the other girl in hopes that her presence wouldn't be an issue. "Hey Raven! What are the odds of running in to you here?" Barely supressing a smirk, Dani settled down on to one of the smaller rocks to watch the older girl with feigned indifference.

What were the chances? This was a rare occurrence for Raven. She usually didn't run into too many classmates here. She smiled warmly at the girl. "Well I know you didn't come all the way out here to sit on the rock. Come on in" Raven waved to Danielle to join her. The hot springs were big enough and Raven never minded having company, at least company that didn't mind being around her.
It was different when she was back home with her mother and siblings. Raven was always the unwanted company in every situation. For large events if her mother could pull it off she would find some way to make sure Raven couldn't go. The times it couldn't be avoided she was just another wall flower. Always in the background and could never speak. At home it was horrid. Raven would look back on those days now and wonder how she would act in front of them now. Being at the school really changed her. Sure she still had some anxiety problems every now and then but she really made a huge turn around in such a short time.
Now she was just a bundle of happy energy with friends and a social life. Nothing was holding her back anymore and it made everything else seem brighter.

| Of course Raven wouldn't mind her being there. She had always been pretty friendly to Dani even if they weren't extremely close, so Dani didn't even think twice about jumping in to the hot springs and making herself comfortable. The hot water felt like heaven against her stiff muscles and she sighed, relaxing in to the warm rocks. "Don't ever let anyone talk you in to a road trip Raven. Even in a limo, 17 hours there and back is too long in a car with Ralph and Gemini." It didn't even occur to her that Raven might not know Gem, but the sentiment was there. Teenage boys took up way too much space for those shenanigans.
Opening her eyes back up, Dani turned to the other girl with a relaxed smile. Man, this was nice. "So, what have you been up to these last few days of summer? Just hanging around here or what?" A lot of kids were full timers like Dani because their parents or guardians didn't like their powers. It was just the way of their world now, so it wouldn't surprise her at all if Raven hadn't left. |

She was glad that the girl decided to join her. She didn't know her very well, they weren't exactly besties but Raven was open and friendly to just about everyone. Raven laughed at the notion of spending seventeen hours two ways with a bunch of teenagers. She knew Ralph fairly well but didn't know much about Gemini, save for basic reputation. That didn't mean she couldn't imagine the craziness of that situation. "I will heed your warning" The other question Raven had to think for a moment about what to say.
She didn't really do anything that break. Usually she would travel to one of the Sanctuaries but this time she just spent it at her apartment and with her pets. She did go shopping which was kind of a new experience for her since she usually just hoped online. "Well certainty didn't do anything as exciting as a thirty four hour round trip car excursion. Just stayed in the area. I like to take the day before school to just soak and relax. It is nice to have some pampering every now and then" Raven's voice was warm and soft. "You looking forward to the start of school?" She was usually bad at topic changes but she remembered her conversation with Ralph and her making a fool of herself. She didn't want to do that in front of someone she didn't really know too well.

"Im looking forward to training. Got in to one of the advanced classes as an elective. It's going to be awesome." not that she didn't love coach Bash, but he was a little mild manner for her tastes sometimes. Dani needed someone that was going to push her to do more than just use her powers over and over in the same way. This guy was going to be interesting. "Maybe you, me, and Ralph should get one of those group slots some time, all go in together. It could be interesting." sure, she usually preferred to practice with other kinetics, but a little variety wouldn't hurt her even a little bit.

"Advanced classes are always fun" Raven loved to take the more advanced classes because she loved to be challenged. Also it seemed like the teachers for the advanced classes were more into it than some of the others. Maybe it was because the students were more attentive to the class. Raven's eyes widened and she started to grin at the notion of Dani, Ralph and herself in a group in one of the classes. It was quite a notion and would be entertaining being in Kale's class with those two.

Dani nodded and closed her eyes for a moment, leaning her head back. It would definitely be interesting if Ralph and Raven were as close as everyone said. She didn't have anything against the other girl, but a small sliver of insecurity had already managed to work it's way in to her mind. They hadn't been dating that long. Was there a chance he and Raven had been a thing, or even would be?
Dani physically shook her head to get rid of the thoughts. If she went down that path then she'd never be able to forgive either of them for something they hadn't even done...yet. "We should sign up for a private slot soon. I'm not sure what the big guy needs help with, but it should be interesting anyways."

Raven relaxed as she watched the other girl. She was curious what was on her mind when she shook her head. She wasn't about to pry. She knew better than to ask personal questions, especially to someone she didn't exactly know very well. Dani was right though, they should get a slot right away for the class. She figured they would be going by quickly from what she heard about the class.
Big guy, must have been Ralph. She swore everyone had their own nickname for him. "Everyone needs help with something. Even if they won't admit it" It was a very generic thing to say but it just seemed right to say it. She had her own reasons for joining the class and knew that Ralph had something on his mind. She was able to pick that up last time she spoke with him in the library. She didn't know much about the girl in front of her but she figured she had her own demons to work out.

"I thought about going in to Calloway and catching a movie, but I'm not sure. Movies are kind of a group thing and if I see those losers again in the next twenty four hours I may have to strangle one of them." Actually, a movie did sound really good right about now. There had to be something on worth watching down at Orion, even if it was really old. Calling Ralph or Gem would mean company though and that was not what the day called for.
Her thoughts wandered to the other people she could invite along that might not annoy her to death for a long minute before she realized who she could ask. Sometimes Dani thought she could be a little slower than the average beart, bujt that was alright...right? "What about you? Any plans? If not we could go down there together. It's pretty much the most exiting thing to do around town."

Raven didn't really have any plans that evening. Maybe having dinner at the lounge but that was never fun to do alone even if she had done just that a few times. Dani was right that the movies was the most interesting thing to do in town. Besides the people that is. The town didn't really have anything interesting going for it. Raven preferred the national park anyway. She often volunteered with the wildlife rescue group.
She was happy the girl asked her. She didn't really hang out with people too often, unless it was some party. "A movie sounds like fun. I really had no plans after this" Raven admitted. She really wouldn't mind spending some time with the girl. There, now no one could say she was being anti-social today. It might even make some of them happy to know she made a potential new friend. For some reason, everyone seemed worried about Dani going dark side some day because of all of her family drama, but hey, she wasn't worried about it. There were better things to do than get sent to jail, right?

ANY LONGER AND IT CAUSES MASSIVE HEADACHES, NOSE BLEEDS AND IN SOME CASES SHE WILL PASS OUT BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN TILL THE TWO HOUR MARK. THE SIMPLER THE COMMAND THE EASIER IT IS TO CONTROL THE ANIMALS. RAVEN PREFERS TO JUST ASK THE ANIMAL IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN CONTROL THEM. IF HER CONCENTRATION IS BROKEN SHE LOOSES CONTROL.

What movies did she like? Anything with a good plot really. She liked older movies and movies based on a book or some real event, even if it was just to compare it to the source material. She did like a good Horror movie even if the horror genera was getting a bit predictable. "Rom-coms have their time and place but I prefer something with a bit more plot. You know some action and a story line worth following. That or a good horror movie to get the blood pumping" She laughed.
Romance movies didn't really interest her. The Romance in books was much more entertaining. Also since she never dated, romance movies were obsolete. Horror movies were something she could handle. Gem was a big fan so she had come to love them herself by proxy. That, and they might just be in luck on that front. "You know, I think that the place in town is having a marathon for the Paranormal Activity series tonight. One ticket, all the movies. Not sure how many I could sit through in a row though." The series had a few good jump scares, but it wasn't truly terrifying. Decent enough for. Relaxing evening

Paranormal Activity marathon sounded wonderful. She didn't mind the series, not very scary but it had its moments. It was something she could get into and it was a good way to pass the time not to mention a good way to spend the evening before school. "Sounds great!" Raven was excited now. She was looking forward to an evening out.
There was still time to enjoy the springs so she decided to try her hand at prying a little. "So besides the long car trip, any thing interesting happen this break?" Raven was looking for some conversation but also wanted to try to get to know the girl in front of her better.
