All I knew this morning when I woke  It had taken Liam most of the night to talk Becca down enough from her initial reaction to Raelynn's revelations, but he had somehow managed. By the time she made it back to her dorm she had finally started to see things through her (apparently) twin's point of view. She could see where she came off spoiled and privileged to someone who had had it as rough as Raelynn claimed to have had it, but she couldn't get past how things had went down. Not just yet.
Richard had been her father, the only one she ever knew and now he was not only dead but replaced by another ghost. Her mother might not only be a manipulative, crazy, obsessive witch, but she might be a murderer. It was a lost to process and Becca still felt like she was free falling. Who was she if she wasn't Rebecca Ashland?
Opening the door, Becca slipped quietly on to her bed without even looking in the direction of where Raelynn should have been sleeping. Instead, she tried to climb under her blanket. A metallic object brushed against her skin and stopped her from going much farther.
Her mother's mirror.
The first thing Becca wanted to do was hold it like the treasure she had seen it as when she was little, but right now it burned like the fire that had singed it's former brightness away. The mirror dropped back on to the bed as she stared down at it and started whispering towards it, like her mother could hear her words instead of the mirror. "How could you do something like that to her? She didn't deserve it. She didn't deserve you, mama. No one does." Her mother's bright blue eyes flashed in the mirror for a moment and Becca quickly turned it over. Teresa was a monster like no other and Becca could only hope that one day she got everything she deserved, maybe even a little more.

Raelynn has the ability to control and manipulate fire and heat. She is completely heat resistant. She can create fire, but it is easier, right now, for her to use fire that is already created to play with, hence the lighter. Raelynn is weak against cold weather, ice, and water which puts a damper on her power. She has to have sufficient oxygen to control fire and if, for some reason, she were suffocating, her power would instantly be harder to control.
She can use a small flame and, from that, create more fire far more easily than create fire from nothing. Raelynn can use her power as much as she wants, at least she will be able to after practicing at Ashford.

Raelynn was lying in her bed, which still didn't have sheets on it from her late arrival the day before. She hadn't slept hardly at all and she could almost feel the exhaustion pulling at the skin of her face giving her bags and puffy, red eyes. The sun was filteringinto the room uninvited and Raelynn couldn't help but detest the sunlight at least a little bit.
A slight creaking alerted the blonde to the return of her twin sister. She didn't know if she should say something, or pretend like she was asleep. She was still struggling with these thoughts when the clinking sound of metal could be heard from across the room. She suddenly remembered the mirror had been left on the other bed and she shot up like a bullet into a straight sitting position.
She made eye contact with the other girl and everything got really quiet in the room. She didn't really know what to say and so she ended up opening her mouth and closing it in strange intervals that she was sure made her look like a fish. Finally, she sighed and shook her head, falling back to the lumpy pillow on her bed, "Hey." It was only one word and yet it felt like it was something material weighing between them. |

All I knew this morning when I woke Watching Raelynn struggle for words reminded Becca that she really didn't know what to say either. How was this conversation supposed to go when they had both drawn the battle lines pretty clearly the day before? Still, she had to try something. She wanted to get to know her twin a little bit better, maybe even be real sisters some day, but right now that felt like an impossible task.
Finally finding her words, she tured away from the mirror long enough to look at Raelynn. "Hey. Rough night?" Becca asked, even though she already knew the answer. Pulling both of her legs up on to the bed, she tucked them underneath herself and moved the mirror to the desk beside her. That thing needed burned or something, but it wasn't hers. Raelynn could keep the thing if she wanted it.

Raelynn watched Rebecca for a short moment before turning on her side and propping her head up on one arm, "You know, it's weird." She started, "I have known about you my entire life, but it is still super weird to see another human that looks exactly like me..." |

All I knew this morning when I woke "I didn't even think something like this was possible, to be honest. I've seen twins before but never identical ones." If it wasn't for Raelynn's straight hair, Becca wouldn't be able to tell the difference herself. There wasn't even a visible birthmark or scar in sight. No wonder Liam had been confused. "I just wish I would've known sooner. I mean, how do you not know your a twin? Aren't we supposed to have esp or something?" Not that she needed any more freaky powers. One was too much, two might kill her. Is I know something now I didn't before.

Raelynn couldn't help but laugh and shake her head, "God I am really glad we don't have ESP. I am enough of a freak already." She sat up completely and stretched, trying to hold down the hem of her sleep shirt so she wouldn't accidentally flash her twin. From this angle, the tattoo on her foot was completely visible, not that it affected Raelynn that much.
She bit her lip and looked at Rebecca in silence for a moment before speaking again, "I'm really sorry, Bex." Then she giggled and shook like a little girl at a N'SYNC concert, "I have always wanted to call you that, ever since we were little." |

All I knew this morning when I woke Hearing that Raelynn had already given her a nickname almost broke Becca's heart. "Bex. I could get used to that." She grinned, before rolling over to see if she had a bottle of water beside the bed. Of course she didn't, but a little bit of rigging had made it to where she could use a pack of water to open her fridge door and then grab one anyways without even having to get up. So what, she was lazy some times. Sue her.
"Want some water...Rae?" Becca asked tentatively as two of the bottles came floating through the air. She wasn't sure about what she was calling raelynn, but it was an attempt at the least. Is I know something now I didn't before.

It was interesting to watch her sister use her power. In fact, Raelynn couldn't keep the grin off her face as she leaned forward and said, "Oh my God! Isn't that so ironic?" She said, flicking her fingers so that fire danced around her glitter coated nails making them sparkled and shine rainbows off the walls around the two girl, "Water and Fire. Like Yin and yang, right?" She said, motioning her hand to accepted the water. |

All I knew this morning when I woke Becca almost spit her water out whenever she saw Raelynn's fingers light up. It was almost poetic in ways she didn't know how to explain. "You have no idea. Teresa always said that I was a pyro when I was a kid and that was why she left me. Something about me starting the electrical fire that killed... well, you know. If she only knew, right? She was always weird with the powers though, blaming things on the SPBs that they didn't do." Maybe it wasn't the right thing to say, but it was the truth. She couldn't bring herself to say the words my father anymore, not knowing what she did.
In her heart he would always be daddy, but right now she had other messes to work through before dealing with that whole mess. Her mother was something she could handle though. Crazy little... Is I know something now I didn't before.

She couldn't tell if this was painful or enlightening. After years of dreaming about meeting Rebecca, it was amazing how Raelynn really had no idea what exactly she was going to say. What could they even talk about? It wasn't like they even knew if they had anything in common...
Raelynn nodded slowly as she looked around the room and tried to find something to inspire conversation. Instead, she just stood up and pushed her suitcase over to grab new clothes, "Want to go grab some food?" She asked, not sure if Rebecca would say yes. |

All I knew this morning when I woke Thank God. Becca thought whenever Raelynn came up with something to do. This conversation was going no where fast and that never ended well. "Yea, sure. Want to stay on campus or head to town? My car is downstairs..." That was something she should probably fix some time soon. Her beat up, hand me down Taurus had seen better days, but it still got her to Calloway and back pretty well. Is I know something now I didn't before.

Her Coach suitcase swung open and made a 'thwap' against the floor as her new clothing was exposed. The entire suitcase was full of clothing she had never worn before, and still smelled like anti-septic and the mall she had bought them from in Las Vegas on the way into Wyoming.
She looked up at Becca and smiled shyly, "I heard that our family owned a place in town...is that true?" She asked, holding up a flowery red sundress between her and her twin. It had a cute pair of heels that matched it in the shelves she had already unpacked, "You want to try this on? It really brings out our eyes." She said, shooting a joking look at her twin. |

All I knew this morning when I woke Becca stared at the dress for a long moment, contemplating whether or not to take it. Oh well, it was just a loan. She'd give it back later. "Yeah, Aunt Ruth used to own it, but one of the cousins runs it now. It's a decent little place if you don't mind the atmosphere." Alright, that was an understatement. The food was great and Ruth never ID'd anyone if there wasn't a cop around and the cousins weren't paying attention. She was too old to care and would rather the kids drink at the bar instead of getting hurt somewhere else. At least she knew when to take their keys.
Grabbing the dress with a thankful smile, she ducked behind the changing screen she and Ruth had splurged on her first year at Ashford and changed in to it. Raelynn was right, it fit perfectly and looked awesome even if it was something she never would have picked for herself. "So, what do you think?" She asked as she came back out, making a little turn. Is I know something now I didn't before.

Raelynn looked up from the few outfits she was trying to pick from and smiled, " You know, this is much more efficient than a mirror. I can see myself from the back and tell that this dress would have looked killer on me." She grinned broadly and picked a dress out for herself before dodging behind the room divider to change. She slinked back out and struck a pose like she had so many times at the mall in Los Angeles, " Don't I look awesome in this?" She asked, knowing full well that the answer was yes. It was a low cut blue sundress that hugged her curves perfectly and swayed around her legs like it was made of silk. red dress |

All I knew this morning when I woke Looking at Raelynn was something that Becca doubted she would ever get used to. Her sister was right, it was like looking in a perfect mirror. "I don't know how you even find things like this. Their amazing, but I wouldn't have looked at them twice." Then again, she never would have been able to afford them before that either. Aunt Ruth had been on an excessively strict budget since the beginning of time and her mother had taken off with her father's insurance money. Poor Ruth had used most of her retirement fund to raise Becca and send her to school.
Making a mental note to send her aunt some cash as soon as all the details were hashed out, Becca grabbed a purse that decently matched the dress from out of her closet and turned back to see if Raelynn was anywhere near ready. IT wasn't like they needed to leave, but she didn't want to be the one holding them up either. Is I know something now I didn't before.
