Laying around all day had made him feel lazy and disgusting. After the sun had disappeared and the hot day had turned a little cooler he decided he needed to do something to make himself feel productive. Running through a list of options in his head he settled on a run.
Though it had cooled off he decided it still didn't feel it was cool enough to warrant wearing a shirt. Now where to run? There were so many options around Ashford. He decided on the Zellner lawn. There wouldn't be anyone out and he enjoyed the way the grass smelled. It was the perfect way to blow off some steam.
Gem headed from his dorm room to Zellner lawn. When he approached he saw a silhouette in the grass and a flames above. Huh That's interesting Dem didn't know who it was but now he was dying to find out. He jogged toward the person and as he grew closer he saw who he thought was Becca. Hey Girl! he said with his usual charming smile. It didn't even occur to him that Becca's power didn't have anything to do with fire.

    Raelynn saw the guy before he was close enough for her to know who it was, not that it mattered because she had never seen him before in her entire life. She looked up and couldn't help but smile when she saw him. Awesome, a decently attractive guy. Maybe she could hook up with him without her sister being all weird and possessive like last time...
Then he spoke to her. He was overly familiar and the warning bell went off in her head telling her he knew Becca. Of course, she grew up here. Everyone would at least know OF her. That didn't mean she had some weird claim on them, right? Raelynn returned his charming grin with a daring smile, "Well, Hello there." Cocking an eye brow, she looked him up and down, making sure it was obvious that she was checking him out.
The fire between them began to dwindle as her concentration faltered and her head snapped back into attention as the light grew small enough that she couldn't admire his abs. She raised her hands so her palms caressed the flames, helping them grow larger and produce more light for her to see by. Once she knew the fire wasn't going to burn out, she leaned back, fully aware of her bikini clad body glittering in the firelight, "Wanna join me?" The ego boost was always refreshing. He raised an eyebrow when he laid back taking in the image fully from her pretty face down to her long legs. Her skin looked amazing in the glow from the flames. Any other guy might have become nervous in the presence of such a beautiful girl Wait, didn't Becca Have a boyfriend? Not that Gem truly cared.
"Sure, I guess I'll grace you with my presence." He dropped down in the soft grass. Stretching out on his back alongside her with his upper body resting against his strong forearms. The movement caused his running shorts to hang farther down revealing the definition of his hip bones.He could feel the heat from the flames warming his skin and closed his eyes soaking it up.
He turned and looked at her What are you doing out here this late anyway? There could be boys out there with bad intentions just waiting to run into a pretty girl." He said with one eyebrow raised He clearly wasn't implying any actual danger.

As he dropped down to the grass beside her, Raelynn looked him over once again. Definitely a good looking guy. Maybe this place wasn't so completely terrible after all? She laughed and shook her head, letting herself fall down so she was laying in the grass again. Looking down at the fire, she could see her feet which carried the only real different you could see between her and Rebecca. A flowery foot tattoo was standing out against her tanned skin, especially in the firelight glow. She narrowed her eyes up at him and shook her head, blonde hair bouncing around her shoulders and across the grass where she was laying, " Oohh!" She sat up excited at his warning and grinning, " What sort of bad intentions? Sounds fun!" Hugging her knees, she leaning toward him slightly as if listening intently to these bad intentions he was speaking of. |

The effect of his revelation on the mood was immediate. Raelynn's floating fire dulled down a little as she processed what he had said. Then the anger came. She glared and the fire burst to life, overtaking the grass in front of her and covering her legs as she stood up, "Seriously? If there a hot guy within fifty miles that girl hasn't laid claim to?" She rolled her eyes and shook her head dramatically, "Yes, That's my name. Becca's twin. Don't bother calling me anything else because no one else does." Suddenly the fire was gone and it was cold and dark.
Raelynn bent over and grabbed a tank top that was basically see through to throw over the top of her glittering bathing suit and denim daisy dukes. Normally she wasn't so mad about things so trivial, but this was the second time this week that she had been referred to as 'Becca's Twin' by a guy she had had every intention of hooking up with.
She turned to stalk away but stopped, looking at a patch of black grass in front of her that still glowed red slightly with the ash left behind from Raelynn's fire. Sighing heavily she turned around and gave the guy a half-hearted smile, "Hey, sorry. I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. But seriously, I have a name." She said, playing with the hem of her white, see-through tank top, "It's Raelynn, if you were wondering." |

Gem sat up quickly scrambling away from Raelynns flame.He held his hands up in a defensive position as it sunk in that Raelynn was upset by his exclamation. Woah Woah Woah Calm Down He said though his words were lost as she continued to rage. He did feel bad he hadn't meant to make her feel like she was just Becca's twin. He also felt bad for the poor grass in front of him which had suffered the wrath of his mistake. He sat quietly letting her vent her frustrations, though he'd be lying if he said he wasn't enjoying how cute she looked angry.
So you think I'm hot? He asked jokingly and an ear to ear grin after she was done yelling and apologized. He leaned back on his forearms once more now that it seemed the danger of him catching on fire had passed.
