BEYOND THE LOOKING GLASS
LIKES | traveling, meeting new people, the World Wide Web, money, having a fake ID even if she doesn't need it, pretty people, revisiting her old haunts, kids, not settling in one place, acting, parties. |
DISLIKES | having to move too soon, people dying, falling in love, aging, being sick, driving herself, too much makeup, spending too much time in Calloway, family ties, explaining her power, people who think she can give her power away, the twilight series. |
BEST SUBJECT | reading? |
WORST SUBJECT | math? |
STRENGTHS | good with change, loyal friend, self sufficient, night owl, tons of life experience. |
WEAKNESSES | tough to understand, a little flighty, no roots, some times struggles to keep up with the times, very little concept of time. |
HOBBIES | shop, learn new things, mess with her latest and greatest. |
PET PEEVES | No cell signal, people finding out her real age. |
PERSONALITY | Tris tends to be a little free-spirited and hates being told what to do, but she's also not entirely independent either. Being alone is something she actually fears because she knows that some day everyone she loves will have passed on but she'll still be here. As far as friends and lovers are concerned, she tends to be very open and her tastes vary from decade to decade. Her heart belongs to someone who left her behind years ago, but maybe things will turn around soon. Tris can get around a lot when it suits her purposes, but she doesn't see it as being loose. Time has very little meaning for her, so she can break off one fling and then be started on another one a few minutes later. However, she is also a hopeless romantic. It's her achilles heel in a way. |
THE HOUSE THAT BUILT ME
MOTHER | LAURA JANE ALDRICH - n/a - deceased - "She was a sweet woman. It broke her heart that I had to travel and leave my family. Someday I hope to be the wife and mother she always wanted me to be." |
FATHER | CHARLES STEPHEN ALDRICH - n/a - deceased - "Daddy never forgave himself for marrying me off so young. Maybe then I wouldn't have had to leave. I could've stayed home and been his little girl forever." |
SIBLINGS | JOSEPH MICHAEL ALDRICH - n/a - deceased - BROTHER/SISTER - "My older brother. He traveled with me for as long as he could. Eventually he decided I would be okay. I miss him dearly." |
OTHER | STEPHEN MICHAEL RAINER - 95/recently deceased - owner of orion cinemas - son - "My baby boy. I wish I could've been a better mother to him. Now he's gone and I'll never have the chance." ALISTAIR JAMES RAINER - n/a - deceased - ex husband - "I loved him as much as I could. Luckily he understood the need for discretion when we finally were able to divorce later in his life. In a perfect world, we would've been a real family." |
SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW
HISTORY | Tristan was born at the turn of the century...well, the 20th century. Her parents welcomed a beautiful baby girl in 1900 and loved her endlessly. Her formative years were filled with days spent by the lake in Calloway and running around her father's small store. It wasn't much, but they lived comfortably. The only thing different about this young american family was that both of Tristan's parents were SPB's. Her father, a pyrokinetic, and her mother, an empath, spent most of their lives attempting to hide their special abilities from the mostly normal population in calloway. When she turned thirteen, her parents believed that she had dodged a bullet. Unfortunately for them, this was not the case. Though Tristan's power wasn't easily visible, she did in fact have one that would send her in to hiding for most of her life. The first five years were easy to explain. Tristan was a beautiful young woman and she was aging well, right? At the age of sixteen, she was married to another young SPB in town and they attempted to settle down together in relative happiness. It wasn't until their first and only child was born in 1920 that people started to realize that Tristan hadn't aged a day since she was thirteen. When little Stephen turned twenty, her father and husband plotted to send her away for a few years and then reintroduce her as a cousin or other relative. By that time she couldn't even go outside because of her curious looks and her son was already married, so why not? The forties found her in New York and with the only man she ever truly loved. Her husband had earned a fair amount of affection by virtue of sharing a child, but this was real love. Jazz would hold her affection for the rest of her life, though he left her when the time came for Trist to head home. To date, she hasn't seen or heard from him, but she looks for him everywhere she goes in hopes that they may some day meet up again before one of them inevitably passes away. Upon returning to Calloway she was greeted with an ever growing family. Her son had already given her three beautiful grandchildren, two little girls and a bouncing baby boy. Everyone was happy to have her home and she was happy to reassume her wifely duties to an extent. The sixties were her next period spent away, though she returned more often than she wanted to admit for funerals and other family matters. During this time, she lost both of her parents, her brother, her daughter-in-law, and one of her now teenage grandaughters. Their losses tempted Tristan in to using her powers to age, but she somehow managed to keep going despite her grief. The seventies would take her remaining family members except for her son, leaving them with only one another. Stephen opened up a business in town, a movie theater to cater to the tourists that still came through often. Most of the normal people in Calloway had been run off by that point so she was able to stay near him longer with less incidents. In the year 2005, Tris left to take a ten year vacation and to lay a paper trail for her latest fake ID. Two weeks before she was scheduled to return to Calloway, a neighbor called to inform her that Stephen had passed away peacefully in his sleep. Heartbroken and lonely, Tristan returned to Calloway to find a new school and an ever growing clienetel for her son's business. She's not sure if she'll stick around yet or not, but for the right reasons...she just might. |
ALL THE SMALL THINGS
POWER | SUPER HUMAN LONGEVITY |
POWER DESCRIPTION | The ability to live longer than a normal person means that, while she appears young, Tris is actually very old. Physically she ages slowly, at about the rate of one month every two or three years. She's not sure exactly how to find that out though, so she isn't positive that she's not aging slower. A quirk in her power does actually allow her to turn it off, but if she does then she ages at about three times the normal speed. Not only is this dangerous, but it is difficult. She has to actively concentrate on making herself age and tries to do it as seldom as possible. Tris can still get sick or injured, but at least her power never tires her out. If anything it's more difficult to not use it than it is to just let her power do what it wants. |
SPECIAL ITEMS | She has a locket given to her in the 40's by the only guy who she ever genuinely loved. She wears it almost every day. |
