YOU WANNA GET SO HIGH breathe me in like air tonight
Alaska wasn't a huge fan of circular tracks when it came to running. There was something so monotonous about running in circles again and again around a plain track. Boooring. But she didn't feel like hiking all the way out to Yellowstone to run along her usual trails this morning so she settled for option number two. I mean the outdoor track was a step up from the indoor track right? It still counted for something cause she was outside and all that junk.
The blonde grimaced as she reached her hands up over her head in a stretch. It was grossly hot out today and everyone knew how much Alaska hated the heat. But there was absolutely nothing else to do around campus at the moment. Most of her friends were back visiting family or something, leaving her alone with absolutely nothing to do but run. Because to Alaska, if there wasn't anyone to hang out with than running circles was the next best option. She switched directions and leaned forward, her hands stretching down towards her toes. It felt so good to stretch seeing as she hadn't been able to make it out to the trails in a few days so she was a little stiff and itching for a good run.
After a few more stretches, Alaska pulled her hair back and up into a pony to get it out of the way, and started off at a steady jog around the expanse of the outdoor track field sticking to her usual spot just on the inside of the track. Running on an actual track instead of trails reminded her of her competition days back in the day where she ran track and field for her school. Those were fun times, seeings as she was one of the better long distance runners on the team and often brought home school records to show off her achievements. But it had been a really long time since Alaska actually competed, lately she'd just been running for the sake of running. Letting out a puff of a breath, Alaska pushed everything to the back of her head and focused on the track ahead of her.

The paradox of our minds
Alex , of course, just got out of bed and realised it was time to run. And the truth be told he was not in the best mod to do so but he had no choice, a little run and fresh air were the things that helped him the most when he just wanted to stay in bed all day. Dragging himself out of bed was not even the worst thing.. He had to take a shower and of course get dressed. A sigh escaped his lips when he finally got outside taking a deep breath of air before he looked around light deep blue eyes analyzing the surroundings with curiosity.
Stretching his arms a yawn escaped his lips while he scanned the surroudnings for one more time before he started running, heading in an unknown direction. He didn't even bother to run on his normal trails, instead he just ended up exploring the area. There was nothing better to do, everyone was visiting their parents or were having fun while he was locked there, unable to visit his mother. According to her, she had to leave town and there was no point in going home, there was no one there since his cousin bought her own house. He raised his eyebrows when he noticed no one else was around, what exactly happened to everyone anyway?
Alexander stopped for a few moments, now leaning against a tree while trying to catch his breath " Damn it" The boy mumbled under his breath closing his eyes for a few momenta before he crossed his arms at his chest, well maybe his first option was better : Watch TV, eat junk food and do nothing. He had to admit it was a hot day, not that he cared anyway. It was the same for him : Cold or Hot, whatever, it didn't matter. He just found himself wondering if there was anyone else around and his question was soon answered as a girl came running in his direction, he couldn't remember her name but he was sure he knew her from the Academy.
He bit his lower lip as he sat down raising his eyebrows a chuckle escaping his lips " Glad I'm not the single one running around in circles. " Alexander said with a rather amused voice while he watched the girl, he just felt the urge to turn into a bat and sleep all day, too bad there was no way he could do that. Even if he had total control over his powers.. It was difficult to take the form of some animals.

YOU WANNA GET SO HIGH breathe me in like air tonight
The hair on the back of her neck was beginning to stick and every step she took sent her ponytail swinging back and forth in rhythm. This heat was brutal. At least on the trails there was some coverage with the trees, out here on the track was just open skies. Alaska could feel the sweat rolling down her back as her feet pounded into the ground in a steady pace. Good thing she'd settled on a pair of black yoga shorts instead of the green leggings she was eyeing earlier. If she'd worn those she'd really be dying right about now.
As she rounded a corner of the track she noticed another person leaning up against a tree just off to the side of the track. Either he'd just shown up or Alaska was way beyond unobservant cause she definitely didn't remember him being there the last lap around. She was actually fairly surprised to see another person out here with so many people gone for summer and of all the places to go he decided to to stop by the outdoor track as well. AS Alaska drew closer to him she slowed her pace until she came to a stop a few feet away. Breathing slightly heavily, Alaska greeted him with a smile. She couldnt remember his name for the life of her but then again she was just a sophomore and didn't really know the names of all the upperclassmen, which was the group he seemed to belong in. "Well hey stranger, and trust me it's just about the only thing to do around here during the summer time when everyone else is off having fun back at home."
She placed her hands on her hips a leaned back slightly. Man those couple of days off was really taking it's toll on her today. Mental note, don't skimp out on morning runs cause it's awful a couple days later. "Ughh, it's so hot out here I think I'm going to melt." She paused for a second before rolling her eyes at herself. She hadn;t even introduced herself to the poor guy and she was already complaining about the weather. "Just realized I haven't introduced myself. I don't know you so I figure you're in the same boat. I'm Alaska." She offered him another smile before plopping down onto the grass near him and stretching her legs out in front of her.

„You can always get some sleep. And watch TV. I have several things to do” Alexander spoke now looking at her and raising an eyebrow a chuckle escaping his lips. Indeed, he had lots of other things to do but jogging was the best. Now that school was almost there he had to concentrate and pass all his exams.. because he was not in the mod to repeat anything. But he at least had some days left to enjoy himself and do nothing.
„ Yea, kind of hot today” He said with a bored voice shrugging, it was not too hot for him but well he was rather different from the others persons there. Due to his unique ability to change into some animals his body was somehow used to the high temperature. He raised his head a little as she introduced herself as Alaska, the corners of his mouth curled, a smile across his lips as he nodded” Nice to meet you. I’m Alex. „ Alex replied before he rested on the grass closing his eyes, well now he was tired „ Nice name” He at least tried to be nice.
He just couldn’t wait for all the people to come back to the academy, oh how sick he was of being all alone. He even started cleaning his room, something that he never did. But during summer everyone was having fun and he was there, stuck in the campus. But he couldn’t do anything about it, some people from his family didn’t want to meet him and some were just too busy for him. Even his cousin stopped calling because she was ‚busy’ with her studies and her new job, according to her she was finally hired in a bar or something and she was extremely happy. And the truth be told Alexander was happy for her.
Short. @alaska

YOU WANNA GET SO HIGH breathe me in like air tonight
Oh he had "other things" to do now did he? Alaska raised an eyebrow at his comment, a smile tugging up the corners of her own mouth. "Do you now? What kinda things?" She couldn't help the words from tumbling from her mouth, not that she really cared all too much about what she said or didn't say. A strangers opinion of her didn't mean the world to her like it did to some people. She was just a littttle bit interested in these other things he was talking about. Pulling her gaze away from his face, Alaska pulled her legs back into a criss-cross manner and began to tug up bits of the grass next to her.
The boy mentioned his name, Alex, and commented on her own. She was a bit used to the surprise about her name, I mean she did share it with State, but most people just accepted it the first time they heard and got the whole 'LIKE THE STATE?!' reply from their system. It was nice though that Alex didn't make any mention of that, and instead just said it was a nice name.
Alaska dropped the little blades of grass she'd pulled up and brushed the bits off of her legs. Leaning back onto her hands, she gazed up at the boy standing near her. He was cute, a little bit standoffish to her but I guess it was just supposed to make him mysterious. She studied his face for a bit before opening her mouth to ask the typical powers question. "So what's your power? With mine I can do this." Alaska pulled out a bobby pin from her hair, snapped it in half and dragged snagged edge of the pin across her palm hard enough to draw blood. It only took a few seconds before the skin around the cut began to form back together. A few minutes later all that was left was a smudged line of blood where she'd originally drawn the cut. She wasn't normally one to showcase her powers straight out of the gate but she was feeling bored and a little too bold.
