At sixty one inches he happens to be a little on the short side for his age. He keeps telling himself that he's going to grow, and has a while for a growth spurt to happen. Lindsey's skin is fairly white. While he may not be ghost pale, usually when he tans his skin takes on more of a tinged white looks as opposed to becoming a bit darker. He has black hair that he'll wear in varying styles, and pale blue eyes that are hard to notice unless you're up close. |

PERSONALITY | Lindsey is just about as complicated as any teenager that has ever existed. He feels like he knows exactly what he wants out of life, but there is a lot of growing that he's going to need to do in order to get there. By dressing the way he does, and being interested in the things that he is he feels as if he has separated himself from other people his age. He listens to metal and punk music not because he likes it but because it makes him feel cool. That's not to say that he doesn't actually like the music, or the clothing that he wears...but he listens to smooth jazz and wears light clothes on his own time and hides the fact that he does so. Even though he might not be entirely true to himself in public, he understands that to an extent and is a fairly intelligent kid. He has set various guidelines for himself and potentially other people in his journals that in some cases are actually pretty good ideas. He studies religion and philosophy on his own time and uses this as a means to develop his own personal beliefs. It's fair to say that he would be a rather well rounded individual if it wasn't for the fact that he was so worried about how other people saw him. With that said it wouldn't be farfetched to say that he is a rather spiritual individual, even though he doesn't necessarily have any religious affiliations. Lindsey can be incredibly quiet and almost seems distant from other people around his age. Not that he actively ignores them or is trying to make anyone uncomfortable but he can get lost in his own thoughts, or while in school he really tries to focus on the classwork. Along with this he has difficulty relating to them because he feels like they don't necessarily understand how he feels. So when he does talk to them he isn't entirely open because he doesn't want people to mock him. When he actually does open up he can be a very convincing speaker. |
THE HOUSE THAT BUILT ME
MOTHER | JORDAN GRACE HARRINGTON - FORTY THREE - ENGINEER - "She is alright, but she has a tendency to be very literal." |
FATHER | MICHAEL RODERICK HARRINGTON - FORTY TWO - HISTORY PROFESSOR- "I love my dad. A very smart, and quiet man. He can be boring when he talks for too long, though." |
SIBLINGS | ALLISON JAMES HARRINGTON - TWENTY THREE -GUITAR SHOP CLERK - BROTHER - "Not the smartest member of the family, but I really appreciate having him around. He introduced me to all the sorts of music that I like. I call him more often than my parents when I've got stuff going on." TYLER GRACE HARRINGTON- NINETEEN - BARISTA/STUDENT - SISTER - "She was adopted or something. I mean, obviously. she's a bit on the darker side, yeah? I love her dearly but her voice is so high pitched." |

SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW
HISTORY | Lindsey was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan. At this point his parents had already gone through two babies, giving them enough experience that he was very well taken care of. By the time that he was a toddler he already had a greater edge than his older siblings did when they were this young. He wasn't passed around a lot from family member to family member, meaning that he got to spend a fair amount of time with his parents. But he also wasn't smothered by them like they were trying to make up for not being proper parents while they were trying to gain their footing. Once he was old enough to start kindergarten he was ready for the challenge of the learning process that was ahead. Reading and writing wasn't a huge issue and he never gave the teachers any trouble. This was a big surprise to the teachers that had his siblings, Allison constantly causing trouble and Tyler's constant talking. He was the quiet one. The one who would always do his work without being asked. This continued all the way until he reached middle school. At the same time he had still been subject to watching his two older siblings grow up. Tyler feeling distant from the rest of the family because of her situation, and Allison dealing with the crushing responsibility/curse of being the oldest child. Unknown to Lindsey they were dealing with something much different as well. Before he and everyone around his age started puberty he couldn't help but wonder what precisely made him different from the other two that he wasn't as moody. It was at this time that he was given more freedom to roam the neighbourhood and a little ways beyond. He didn't have a lot of friends, and at fifteen Tyler had grown out of wanting to take him places with her. With his brother still at the boarding school that he had been sent off to, Lindsey really had no other option than to try and make a couple friends. He took his skateboard down to the local skate park. This would essentially be the defining moment in his life. The kids who hung out around there were a bit older than him. They swore, they made him feel self conscious about his lame button-up or Hawaiian shirts, and they were very interested in much louder music than he was used to. His brother would listen to really mellow music and Lindsey was into that as well...but he was definitely convinced that this was the type of music that the cooler people listened to. Along with this they had some very heavy opinions about religion which in turn affected the way he saw things, considering that his parents didn't have strong religious affiliation. He ended up spending most of his time here through the beginning of his sixth grade year. He tried to dress more like the older kids that he was spending time with, and it ended up making his parents a little bit concerned about him. They would end up taking him to see a counselor. He was a rather short man, who always said to call him Richard, but Lindsey would always call him by his last name, Cook. Dr. Cook was a bit more on the positive and upbeat side, and at most Lindsey found him entertaining sometimes. Though he would be the one who had a great impact on the way that he carried himself from that point forward. They talked a lot about identity, and over time more came out about the people that Lindsey was beginning to associate himself with. Dr. Cook never said that they were unhealthy...He told him to write down what they say...Write down what other people say about the same thing...and then try to find a middle ground if it was incredibly different. Following this advice would lead to Lindsey coming up with the idea to become a young philosopher. He had grown distant from the people that he had to attend school with. They were put off by his timid demeanor, interest in the arts and darker clothing. He personally felt like he might just be too poetic, or too intelligent for them. So he began to write down his personal thoughts as well. At first just compiled as a jumbled mess of lists, but eventually being re-written and developing into coherent guidelines and ideas. Moving into the seventh grade was really when he started to notice the changes in everyone around him. They were getting bigger, they were getting pimples on their faces and more hair on their bodies. They even started to smell weird. It was another thing that made him feel very isolated from the rest of them. And it led to him making his first actual friend in the school. The kid's name was Chris, someone who felt the same way about everything that was going on. He listened to Lindsey's ideas, and stuck by him when he was inevitably picked on by individuals with nothing better to do. But these things don't last. For reasons unknown to Lindsey, his sister Tyler was sent away to that boarding school as well. His parents had started to become more strict with him, and asked him weird questions about his day or his whereabouts. Then finally came the time when his abilities developed and things started to make a little more sense. It was a mostly normal day, he was skating in the park with his friend, casually ignoring the other people that he used to idolize now that he felt he had moved passed needing their approval. They were sectioned off alone in one corner, and as Lindsey skated off the top of a ramp he felt as if he had lost control of the board. Which he had, but for some reason he wasn't falling. In front of him he could see his board floating and he was floating with it. The shock did end up causing him to fall, but there was no mistaking what had happened. It was then that Chris helped him figure out what was going on through the internet, they started to run little tests to see exactly what was happening, and they decided on Telekinesis at first...but after more research and some very weird/angry message boards they realized that it was gravity manipulation. Lindsey began to read old physics text books that his older siblings, or his mother had lying around forgotten from days when they were useful. It was by the Eighth grade year that Lindsey realized that he would need to come to terms with a lot. Chris had for some reason ignored him for the entire summer before school, and was now spending time with the same people that they had despised. From his understanding it was all because of a girl from that group, and he ended up adding a whole section about not allowing primal urges to affect establish alignments to his journals. Though it didn't stop there necessarily. At a school dance he saw them together, and it was for some reason enough to make him lose control over his talents. His father who had been chaperoning watched him toss a bunch of bowls of punch and snacks off of table with his mind. This resulted in them finally having a talk about where his siblings were, why they were there, and why he would be there as well starting the next school year. |
ALL THE SMALL THINGS
POWER | Gyrokinesis(Gravity Manipulation) |
POWER DESCRIPTION | The ability to manipulate the gravity in your immediate surroundings. Gravity manipulation can either be incredibly useful, or incredibly limited based on what the user is trying to achieve. As far as skill level, and the more dangerous uses of this ability, Lindsey is far too young and does not have a good enough understanding of physics to truly utilize these applications. Lindsey is able to both make things lighter or heavier including objects, and other people. This can be used to make things incredibly difficult to move, or used for things such as levitation. Coupled with being able to attract(or repel by working in the opposite direction) objects with the same force he can essentially move things with his mind, but has difficulty with fine manipulation. When he uses his power this way it requires more focus and channeling than simply manipulating the degree of force between certain objects. As a means of visualization he has become accustomed to moving his hands in the direction that he wishes to move the object. To further expand upon the applications, Lindsey can manipulate his own personal gravitational field as well. This could be used to create orbital force around him, attract objects towards him, or push them away from him. With this usage he could levitate, simulate flight, walk along walls, essentially create force fields around him, or reroute projectiles that have been thrown at him. With training and focus he should be able to manipulate things of greater mass, or potentially crush things with his power by expanding the range of his manipulations. Currently he is able to apply this in simple ways, such as flattening cans, or bending the shape of smaller objects by means of localizing the points where he increases or decreases gravitational force. This also requires him to use his hands in order to achieve the desire results, otherwise he has complications with control. Lindsey is limited to manipulating things within his area. While he's not necessarily limited to his line of sight, it would need to be close enough that he could potentially see the object in order to manipulate them. And when he begins controlling it he would need to see it at first in order to visualize the change that he is trying to make. In order for him to move something directly he needs to really be able to focus on it, especially if it's something rather large. Along with this, when it comes to moving the objects around he again lacks the fine manipulation. For example, turning the top of a playing card in a specific direction would require him to focus on a fixed point of the card, or turning something like a doorknob wouldn't be as simple as envisioning it, he would need to focus on where he causes change so that he doesn't just rip the doorknob off the wall, as opposed to a Telekinetic who could do these things without giving it much thought. When it comes to "flight" it would really not be the same as normal flying. It would essentially be levitation, plus movement...Which seems like flight, but only in the sense that he's moving without touching the ground. The entire time he would need to focus on what he is attracting himself to...and he would in no way reach the speeds that someone who actually has the power of flight could reach. |
SPECIAL ITEMS | Lindsey has a collection of journals that contain information about his personal philosophy and belief system. |
