One of the only good things about the tame breaks was that you never had to wait in line for more than a minute or two for food. During the year, Dani sometimes sat for over half an hour to get a decent cheeseburger. Besides, too many people early in the morning was annoying any day.
A half eaten plate of fries rested on the table in front of her as she declined in the chair and read her brothers latest e-mail on her phone. It was shorter than usual, like he didn't have time to waste on her this time Finley probably didn't between his friends and the family he was staying with. Seth has the ability to crawl up walls and other things. He's your regular real life Spiderman. His powers can benefit him in the element of surprise and also aid in avoiding attacks. It allows him to move quickly from building to building as long as the jump isn't too far apart. It's also beneficial in getting those top shelf items. One of the downfalls is that it isn't very helpful when he needs to be on the offense. Also Seth isn't always sure footed and has been known to fall and break a few bones. Luckily there isn't much Seth has to do to keep his power in check

Pull This Thread As I Walk Away Seth woke up feeling hung over. His head was pounding and his stomach felt unsettled from all the sugary alcohol. He groaned and threw his clothes on from the night before, a white t-shirt and jeans. He grabbed his ipod and popped the ear buds in his ears. He was relieved when he saw that the student dining area was practically empty. He didn't think he could handle all the noise that was the usual and his need for a big slice of greasy pizza was growing by the minute. Hands in pockets he waited patiently for the person behind the counter to come up front and take his order he gazed around the room. He spotted Dani sitting by herself staring at a plate of half eaten fries. That was the girl from the bonfire wasn't it? He gave a wave toward her. |

Alaska was juuuust a tiny bit exhausted but she was also hungry and in the battle between food and sleep, food definitely won. She rolled out of bed and pulled on a chunky cable-knit sweater and a pair of shorts. Nothing too fancy cause honestly Alaska was a little too tired to pull out any of her dresses. Leaving her hair down as usual, she made her way down to the student union to hopefully find some food and coffee to at least wake her up.
Upon arriving at the union, Alaska noticed that one, it was pretty much empty which meant no lines for food (yesss), and two the only people who were there were also at the bonfire. Alaska quickly grabbed a premade sandwich and ordered a coffee, with extra cream and sugar of course, before making her way over to the table Dani already occupied. "Hey I hope you don't mind me sitting with you, I'd rather not sit at a table by myself." She hoped Dani wouldn't refuse or anything cause that would definitely make things a little bit awkward.

"Sure, the more the merrier." Dani replied after a long minute of trying to figure out where she had seen the girl before. During that time she had also waved at Seth, half inviting him to come sit with them too before moving some of her junk out of the way. She tended to spread out whenever she ate alone. "You're Alaska, right? From last night. "
The last thing she clearly remembered was someone and shots of fireball, after that she had blacked out. Hopefully Ralph or the Ashland chick had made sure she got back to the dorms because that was where she woke up this morning. It was a mess, but a fun one it seemed. and we're starting at the end

He saw Alaska had joined her in the time he was waiting for his food. He contemplated whether he would join them or not, He was already an awkward kid and girls made him nervous. He dropped his table down on the table "Hey Ladies..How's everyone feeling this morning?" He said with a smile taking a seat next to Alaska. Alaska pulled out a chair and sat down, taking the lid off of her coffee cup to let it cool down some. Her mother always said that black coffee was good for a hang over but Alaska couldn't stand coffee black so she always piled in the creams and sugars. Oh well. Dani popped a question Alaska's way and she glanced up from staring into her coffee to reply, "Yep that's me. The crazy girl from last night egging everyone on to take more fireball shots." She held her liquor fairly well for a girl so it took a lot to really get to her, but last night was insane.
Seth joined them at the table a few minutes later, and Alaska offered him a smile as he sat down. "And here's the guy who started it all. I think I'm fairing about just as well as anyone else who got pulled into the fireball shot circle last night. How about yourself?" Alaska unwrapped the sandwich she'd grabbed earlier, turkey and swiss, and studied it for a bit before taking a bit. She wasn't really hungry but she knew that eating would help with the whole hangover thing. The number one thing she hated about drinking were the awful hangovers the next morning but I mean really who actually enjoyed hangovers?

Ah, well...at least that explained the pounding migraine she had whenever the alarm clock woke her up this morning. Luckily Dani kept herself to a pretty intense work out regimine, otherwise...well, she'd still be hungover. "Do I even want to know how much we drank? Because ignorance might actually be bliss here."
Seth's question was a little bit of a different story though. How was she doing? If Dani only counted the stuff in Ashford she was doing fantastic, but that pesky twin of hers was just out to cause her grief. "Fantastic, considering it sounds like we drank enough to keep most frat houses stocked from the sounds of it." She lied smoothly, deciding to keep her personal issues to herself. Alaska and Seth were pretty much strangers...there was no way that she would let them in on any of that.

Pull This Thread As I Walk Away he said with a laugh in response to Alaska's comment about him starting it all. "and with great drinking comes great headache." He took a sip of his mango smoothie. He'd been hung over too many times to count and had nursing a hangover down to an art. The grease soaked up the sugar the smoothie eased the queasyness and the coffee, well he just liked coffee. "I'll have to ask my sister how much we drank, I'm a horrible brother and left her to clean up by herself this morning." Looking for something to occupy by his hands he fiddled with the Salt and Pepper shakers on the table. Seth Didn't have a lot of friends and though girls made him feel a bit shy if not under the influence of hard alcohol maybe he could end up being friends with these girls. "I can't believe summer is almost over.." |

"Oh of course Mr. Save the Day, and I think it was good that you did, apparently we all had a blast," She laughed at Seth's comment before picking up her coffee and absently blowing on the surface in a half-assed attempt to cool it off. She had to admit, she'd met quite a few new people at the bonfire, Dani and Seth included and while none of them immediately became friends, the whole group seemed to get along fairly decently and Alaska had a feeling there we're some close friendships in the possibilities. It was just a matter of everyone getting to know each other better now. I mean things were always more fun when you had a group of friends to hang out with.
Seth mentioned something about summer almost being over and Alaska sighed placing her coffee back down on the table. "Oh come on I was having a pretty good morning just hanging out with you two and you have to go and remind me of classes starting back up again." She made a pouty face and propped her elbow up on the table in front of her, resting her chin on top of her fist. "You guys are lucky, you both have at least one less year of this than I do." She made a sweeping gesture towards the rest of Ashford campus. Not that she really minded being at school, but she just felt that there were bigger and better things out there for her to being doing. Things to do and places to explore and all that. Instead she was here learning about a power that she already understood. I mean how hard was it for her? She got hurt and healed herself, it wasn't like she was training to be better at manipulating fire or anything like that.

Classes. While Dani wasn't the worst student in the world, she still wasn't looking forward to uniforms and sitting in a stuffy room for most of the day doing things she never intended to use. "Hey, it's a while off. We still have time to get some fun in before they steal our souls again." At least they had mandatory training during the year. It was her best subject, afterall.

It seemed He and Aurora had gotten the short end of the power stick. After finishing his smoothie, he took a sip of his coffee which had cooled down enough to be drinkable He smiled at Alaska's pouty face, it was pretty cute, Not that he'd ever say anything It's already sucking my soul out. "Thats true," She replied back to Dani's comment. She'd already drank most of her coffee and was now just swirling the last traces around in the bottom of the Styrofoam cup. It always kinda sucked when summer ended. Alaska wasnt really a fan of sitting in classrooms for 8 hours or whatever. It was kinda just a waste and she was looking forward to moving on to university. Like Seth had said about his own powers, Alaska's didn't really require very much training. I mean wouldn't it be a little unethical as well? To ask people with healing powers to purposely hurt themselves in order to practice the healing? Sure Alaska might do that on her own, and there had been other times where she'd used her powers in a bad way but as far as doing it in school for an actual class? Didn't really seem very fun to her.
"Ah plans...plans... not really any that I can think of at the moment? But then again my brain is dead." Which was true, she couldn't really think of any solid plans so far but then again, she wasn't big on planning. She was more of an impulsive, spur of the moment kinda person.
