Dani reached out to grasp his hand tightly after he finished talking. It was oddly comforting to her that he wanted to stay and that she actually believed he would. "Dont stay up all night, ok? I promise I'm not going anywhere. You can even lay down if you want." her words started slurring together as the pills took effect. Sleep hadn't completely overtaken her yet, but it was definitely close. If she was awake for more than five more minutes, she'd be shocked.

Ralph gave Dani's hand a gentle squeeze when she took of his. He knew that it was more likely he wouldn't be sleeping at all but he wasn't going to tell Dani that. "Okay." he said. Ralph lay down next her with enough space between them as he watched her slowly drifting to sleep, it wouldn't be long before she was asleep.

Before Dani could articulate a response, her eyes closed to the point that they couldn't open anymore. She wasn't quite asleep, but she wasn't awake either. Heavy lids refused to budge and eventually she stopped fighting them for dominance. It was time to rest and even she couldn't deny that basic instinct at this point. Her body was going to win out eventually, even if the pills didn't.

Ralph listened to Dani's breathing, it was clear that she would be asleep pretty soon. Ralph knew she needed it as he gently wrapped his arm around her. He knew he wouldn't sleep while Dani was, he was more inclined to stay watch for any dangers that didn't exist within the town, like Coyotes or something. ((Since it's too late to start another summer thread, let's do a time jump!))
Dani woke up the next morning feeling lightheaded and slightly sore. It was well past dawn judging by the light streaming from the windows. Man, she must have really been out of it to sleep for that long. She rolled over on to her side, grabbing her phone to text one of the vitokinetics on the floor. At the moment she couldn't tell if Ralph was awake or not, but she didn't want to disturb him regardless. A few minutes down the hall and she should be good as new again.
Slipping out of her bed at the end, she leaned over to put her shoes on. Apparently this wasn't the best idea because she dropped her shoes loudly on the floor a few seconds later as a spasm of pain enveloped her. Great, just great.

Ralph wasn't sure when he fell asleep, he was certain that he'd stay awake all night but clearly his body decided otherwise. Ralph had woken moments before Dani and had simply watched her while she slept, it fascinatined him that the firecracker of a girl seemed so peaceful and calm. He spotted her getting out of bed at the end and sat up himself, moments later the loud noise made by her shoes impacting the floor had him up on his feet and standing next to her. Her breaths were short and ragged for a moment while Dani caught her breath. Once the pains had passed, she stood up without the shoes and nodded at Ralph. "I'm fine. Just going down the hall for a second to see a vitokinetic about getting this taken care of." That was the plan at least. If the dude couldn't do it, then she'd be in the nurse's office for sure by the time everything was said and done.

"Deal. It should only take five minutes unless he's wrong and can't heal bones. Guess we'll find out though." Vitokinetics were immensely useful when it came to people like Dani who got in to fights a lot or had a reckless streak a mile long. This one had patched her up a few times, but she hadn't broken bones then. Cuts, scrapes, bruises...all of that he was good for, breaks and fractures were a new beast though. "If he can't, you can drag me kicking and screaming to the nurse. Scout's honor."

"Be right back then." she grinned before taking off barefoot down the hall. Shoes were just not worth the hassle at this point. Her vitokinetic friend was already up and waiting to get started. The process only took a few short minutes, but it was a painful one. This time she took in to consideration Ralph's sensitive hearing and did her best not to cry out or scream. It wouldn't do anyone any good for him to come bursting through the door when everything was almost done.
Once they were finished, Dani felt ready to take on the world...tomorrow. Most of her energy had been zapped from the process but she was excited to get back to the room anyways. "Hey big guy, I'm back. See, good as new. " She even did a little spin before sitting on the edge of the bed. Better, much better.

Ralph gave her a short wave as she left the room to find her friend. Human emotions often confused the Morpher but he was pretty sure that being concerned and a tab anxious was pretty normal given the situation. He didn't hear a sound from anywhere so he stayed put in the same place that Dani had left him. Ralph couldn't help the grin that spread across his face when Dani returned looking far better if a bit tired. "So he fixed you then!" Ralph said even though it sounded odd once the words left his mouth. He gently sat down next to Dani on the edge of the bed. every step you take

Even though she hadn't been all there last night, she definitely remembered something about a kiss and a handsome guy carrying her home. Maybe now would be a good time to bring that back up. At least she wouldn't hurt whenever he touched her. "So, where were we last night before we came to our senses?" Her playful grin turned mischievous as she wrapped her arms around his neck and looked him in the eye.

Dani leaned in to the kiss for a long minute before pushing him back on to the bed so he was on his back. Instead of staying on top of him she rolled on to her side and laid there for a minute, just looking at Ralph and trying to figure out how they ended up here. It had all happened so fast...but she didn't regret it either. He was a good guy, someone she needed in her life. There was a small part of her that wondered if he might even be too good for things to last. "Come on big guy, let's go get some food. I'm starving." she said suddenly, leaning forward to give him a short, soft kiss before she stock up to grab her shoes again.
