It had been a very long week after the whole double date and even her date with Seth at the lake, her brother suddenly showing up and Dani being gone for the week. It was much more than the girl was used to. Raven just wanted some peace of mind and some way to relax. Things with Ralph were soothing over and now it just seemed there was another problem. She slipped into the indoor pool ecstatic that there was no one else there. Most were talking about the formal coming up and with the winter months not that many went swimming. Especially since there was a small window for free swim. Raven Just wanted to swim laps which she could do at any time. She took a deep breath and dove into the warmish water. The moment the water hit her skin she felt a hundred times better. She just focused on each stroke and holding her breath, only surfacing when she needed to breath. She wasn't swimming in any specific style she just wanted to be submerged in the water as long as she could.
She had been swimming for a good forty five minutes before taking a breather. She leaned against the pool wall taking deep breaths, her goggles on her head. She heard someone else enter the pool area. Raven just stayed quite focusing on her breathing so she could get back to swimming. She realized that she hadn't been to the pool in over two weeks and made a mental note to get back into swimming every other day, if not every day like she used to.

Ralph's powers are actually that of Animal Morphing but he has yet to actually fully morph so it seems like its mere mimicry. Currently his abilities mean he has heightened senses, sight, hearing and scent.He also is highly sensitive to emotions and feelings (you've guessed it, yes be can smell fear). His powers are in the process of development and he's soon going to do the full morph. He's obviously very hairy from the power and he's also got many Wolf like quirks for example he will fight to gain dominance and if you win he is submissive. He sleeps curled up and will chase a ball if thrown to him. Another note is that Ralph is a carnivore and he eats ten times more than any eighteen year old does, he won't eat vegetables willingly. Also he's not allowed to have raw meat even slightly under cooked because it risks making him feral. He's also stronger than most eighteen years old and fitter with sharper reflexes but he's fairly easy to defeat when necessary, tranquilizers work very well.

Ralph had been finding the last few weeks to be trying, while the Wolf hadn't made an appearance since the fight with Gem, its habits had. One of them being the fact that wolves hunt at night, this meant Ralph was wide awake when he should've been asleep and dropping to sleep during classes which was never good. He'd started fixing the major mess up he'd made of everything by going to lunch with Gem. His sister had also come to Ashford and Ralph insisted on showing her around meaning that he had even more to fit into the very little awake time he had. That was why he ended heading to the pool, he wanted a bit of quiet and with the colder months rolling in the Library was busy. Ralph figured that since it was cold noone would be at the pool, that would be the perfect place to get some quiet and while he hated water if he didn't get to close there would be no risk of falling in.
As he walked through the doors of the pool, he regretted his decision to find quiet at the pool as his nose was assaulted with the chemical combination used to keep the pool germ free. His senses seemed to be in overdrive lately and he was just about to turn and leave again when he heard the sound of someone in the water. It was a gentle swishing sound that was oddly soothing. He moved closer to the pool, the persons scent was masked by the chlorine and he didn't know who it was. It didn't take long for him to work it out as he got closer to the pool he spotted his best friend leaning against the side of the pool. "Bit cold for swimming?" even if it was an indoor pool, walking back to the dorm after being in the pool was bound to be rather chilly.

She heard the voice and was glad to see her best friend standing there. It was odd seeing him at the pool since she knew he hated water. She turned around and lifted herself out of the water. "Hey you" She said with a large grin. She stood up and ringed her hair out somewhat. It was warm in the water. As soon as she stepped out she could feel the chill and was wondered why she even bothered to get out of the pool she was going to go right back in. "As long as you dry off it really isn't too bad. Besides how many people go swimming during the cold seasons" Raven asked. No one, that was the answer. The pool was usually empty this time of year and that meant a quiet swim. Not that she minded having her best friend there. That was when a thought popped into her head. She didn't take a moment to evaluate the idea just act on it. She grabbed one of the towels she had with her and stood by the edge of the pool waving Ralph over. She had a playful gleam in her eyes. She just had to wait for the right moment.

He knew she'd find it odd he was there, he found it odd that he'd ended up there because pool means water and Ralph and water don't mix at all. "No one. Except well you." Ralph gave her a smile back. It was the reason he was at the pool, because it was quiet while the Library was full. The Library was definitely warmer than the pool but Ralph didn't feel the cold as easy as others might have. He hadn't seen Raven since she smacked him upside the head for the things he said, admittedly he deserved it. When he went and reflected on what had happened he was grateful to his best friend for smacking some sense into him. He walked over to Raven who had waved him over, "So what's up?"

"Yep, just crazy o'l me" Raven chuckled. She knew there were other places warmer and dryer than the pool but once in the water it wasn't so bad. Since it was an indoor one it was still warmer than the outside. She watch him walk over, still with that coy grin. She had made up her mind and didn't really care how much Ralph hated the water at that moment. She wanted to have some fun and she didn't see any other opportunity like this. Raven walked up to him acting like she was going to give him a hug but at the last moment she shoved him really hard to the edge of the pool so he would fall in. She just stood there with her arms crossed, a large smile on her face as she tried not to laugh at the situation. She didn't want to miss his reaction. "Nothing much really, anything new" She finally answered.

Ralph laughed at Raven calling herself crazy, she wasn't of course even if she was swimming in the colder months. The grin Raven was giving him worried him just a little, it looked just slightly evil. Ralph wondered what she was up to as she went for hug, he soon got his answer as she promptly pushed him into the water. He yelped as he hit the water and he quickly resurfaced. As he resurfaced he probably resembled a rabbit in headlights, the yelp was definitely from surprise. Once the initial shock was over Ralph looked up at Raven, "I didn't know you had a wicked side." he said with a smirk on his face as he pushed himself out of the pool, but only enough to grab Raven's arms and pull her in.

Raven couldn't help but laugh at Ralph's reaction. It was better than she expected and didn't feel a tinge of guilt shoving her best friend into the water knowing he would hate it. She was somewhat surprised when he pulled her in as well but should have expected it. She felt the cold of the water first then it wasn't too bad. She resurfaced and shook her head still laughing. When she calmed down a little she smiled and looked at Ralph. "Us good children have our secrets" She gave him a wink and a mischievous smile. "It was quite funny though. And I am not sorry what so ever" She laughed again. It was nice to be able to smile and joke around. Something to brighten up her day.

Ralph couldn't be upset with Raven, since it ammused her so much that he'd ended up in the water. Now that he was thoroughly wet the water didn't feel as cold, but it didn't mean he disliked it any less. Ralph pulled himself up using the edge of the pool and got out. "Oh yeah!? What other secrets are you keeping, golden girl?" Ralph joked, he laughed with Raven when admitted she wasn't even sorry about pushing him in. "I thought you didn't do practical jokes but it seems that the little red devil on your shoulder convinced you otherwise." Ralph teased. He walked to the edge of the water offering his hand to her if she wanted to get out too.

"Me keep secrets? Never" Her voice was so thick with sarcasm that it made her wonder where it had come from. She knew once she got to know someone she could be goofy and fun. Sure she was still the voice of reason but she didn't mind some shenanigans at times. The comment about the golden girl stung a little but she didn't blame Ralph for saying it. Here she was like a golden girl. She figured if things were different at home she would have been just like her brother. It was a weird thought. Raven shook her head when he offered to help her out. She was going to stay in for a little longer. The water was soothing. "I have no qualms with pranking friends. It was just the perfect moment" She laughed a little as she smiled up at Ralph.

Ralph rolled his eyes at Raven's sarcasm before chuckling again. Raven probably had many secrets behind that smile of hers and Ralph knew this but never pushed her for information. This goofy side of Raven was one that Ralph loved and one that she rarely showed going for the responsible young woman side of her instead. Ralph was pretty sure that he'd love any side Raven revealed to him, she was his best friend after all and she'd seen his worst sides plus the Wolf. You couldn't have a side worse than an evil wolf Alter-ego. Ralph hadn't meant anything hurtful by his golden girl comment, Raven was his golden girl and that is how he meant it. He retracted his hand when Raven shook her head, "I'll keep that in mind from now on, make sure there are no more perfect moments." he said. He started shaking his head from side to side to get the water out of his hair and off his face, much like a dog would. "So have you been in here long?" Ralph asked in refrence to the pool now standing a little away from the water.

Raven laughed and held her hands over her face as Ralph shook off the water. He really was just a large puppy at times. Well maybe not puppy but Raven didn't mind. She was completely find with all aspects of her friend. She didn't mind the wolf, it didn't concern her and it was Ralph. She knew he would never hurt her and would always be there no matter what. "Um... A little over an hour now I think. I actually missed swimming so was very glad when no one was here. Not that I don't like your company" She smiled as she pushed herself from the edge and did a underwater somersault before resurfacing. "What brings you here. You don't like getting wet" Raven asked.

ANIMAL MORPHING (WOLF) |
Ralph's powers are actually that of Animal Morphing but he has yet to actually fully morph so it seems like its mere mimicry. Currently his abilities mean he has heightened senses, sight, hearing and scent.He also is highly sensitive to emotions and feelings (you've guessed it, yes be can smell fear). His powers are in the process of development and he's soon going to do the full morph. He's obviously very hairy from the power and he's also got many Wolf like quirks for example he will fight to gain dominance and if you win he is submissive. He sleeps curled up and will chase a ball if thrown to him. Another note is that Ralph is a carnivore and he eats ten times more than any eighteen year old does, he won't eat vegetables willingly. Also he's not allowed to have raw meat even slightly under cooked because it risks making him feral. He's also stronger than most eighteen years old and fitter with sharper reflexes but he's fairly easy to defeat when necessary, tranquilizers work very well.

It wasn't difficult to see that Ralph had an inner Wolf, no matter how much he tried the Wolf side of him always made its way to the surface. Recently though he was slowly becoming more of a pet dog than a crazed Wolf, thanks to a lot of internal dialogue on Ralph's part. "Fine I'll leave then." Ralph teased as if turning to head out but he didn't. He was glad Raven didn't mind his Company because quite a few people did. He clapped when Raven resurfaced from her underwater somersault, "You sure you're not half dolphin or something? " Ralph teased with a chuckle. " I can for some quiet, the Library is packed and my senses are just over loaded right now." Ralph said he sat down near the Pool, he was wet now anyway. "I made up with Gem." Ralph updated her friend on his own life, she was after all a major part of it.

HER POWER TO TALK WITH ANIMALS IS MORE OF THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND THEM. ANIMALS SEEMS TO UNDERSTAND HUMAN SPEECH AND HER MIND CAN TRANSLATE ANIMAL SPEECH TO SOMETHING SHE CAN UNDERSTAND. IT JUST HAPPENS AUTOMATICALLY AND SHE CAN'T EXACTLY CUT IT OFF BUT JUST LIKE TALKING WITH A PERSON SHE HAS TO BE WITHIN EARSHOT TO UNDERSTAND THE CREATURES. SHE CAN GET VERY CONFUSED ON WHO SHE IS TALKING WITH OR WHERE A CONVERSATION IS COMING FROM IF SHE HAPPENS TO BE IN EARSHOT OF SOME ANIMAL.
CONTROLLING IS A BIT DIFFERENT. IT ISN'T A SPOKEN COMMAND IT IS MORE OF A MENTAL ONE. IT TAKES TOTAL CONCENTRATION AND SHE CAN'T CONTROL AN ANIMAL FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR, NOT THAT SHE WANTS TO. ANY LONGER AND IT CAUSES MASSIVE HEADACHES, NOSE BLEEDS AND IN SOME CASES SHE WILL PASS OUT BUT THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN TILL THE TWO HOUR MARK. THE SIMPLER THE COMMAND THE EASIER IT IS TO CONTROL THE ANIMALS. RAVEN PREFERS TO JUST ASK THE ANIMAL IF THEY ARE WILLING TO DO SOMETHING RATHER THAN CONTROL THEM. IF HER CONCENTRATION IS BROKEN SHE LOOSES CONTROL.

Raven laughed at the dolphin joke. "No, just used to swim all the time, that's all" She could understand the need to get away from the noise. She couldn't imagine what Ralph was going through with his getting used to the whole wolf thing. She knew they had heightened senses and he was having to deal with a whole other part of himself. When he mentioned fixing things with Gem she could almost jump with joy. "That's great!" She crossed her arms on the edge of the pool and rested her head on them so she was looking at Ralph. "So what else is new?" She liked being updated on her best friend's life. It made hers not seem so boring.

Ralph had been doing much better with the Wolf thing than he thought he would've, it was a major adjustment to make after all but now he was getting well accustomed with the fact that there was two sides to him and blocking out the Wolf entirely didn't help. Ralph smiled at Raven, "Yes, we went to lunch, I brought him a stuffed Scooby." Ralph said as Raven moved to the edge of the pool. "My sister moved here recently. She's going to Ashford." Ralph said to Raven, he knew the girl liked to be well informed on his life, he didn't mind either he loved talking to his friend.

"Awe that's adorable. Look who's being a good boyfriend" She teased in a very childish voice. When Ralph mentioned his sister she had to wonder what was going on with all the siblings showing up. "Her name is Abigail right? I talked to her briefly on IM chat. She seems like such a lovely girl, would love to meet her" She perked up. She was completely willing to get to know her best friend's sister. She figured it would be a nice pace from all the insane things going on. "You looking forward to the School Mandated camping trip coming up?" She asked changing the subject. She missed hanging out with Ralph and wondered why she didn't do it more often lately.
