Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me open ♦♦♦ 217 ♦♦♦ outfit ♦♦♦ entertainment needed Classes were over for the day and Raven was exhausted. Training with Asher was draining to say the least and she wanted to just find a nice quiet place to wind down. Raven was still contemplating on if she was going to stay in the class. She knew she shouldn't give up so easily and the point was to face her fears. That didn't make the class any easier. It made history seem easy. But she was too proud to quit and really did need to class, at least she believed she needed the class.
She decided the library was the best place to find quiet. Upon arriving she decided to knock out her homework. It didn't take long and she decided to take some time a look for something to read. She scanned the shelves and figured she would go for a classic. Frankenstein. It was one of her favorites. Taking the book she headed up to the forth floor where it was quiet and the chairs were very comfy.
She read but wasn't really reading. Her mind was drifting off and tt didn't take long for the girl to doze off in the char with the book. She usually didn't doze off at the library but she underestimated how drained she really was.

I can put you on the Mile High club. What's up? the prayer -- bloc party outfit: navy v-neck/khaki shorts words: 430 ❥ AH THE LIBRARY.
The place of knowledge. The keeper of history! Or rather, a place people freaked out and ran to when the information they sought after was scarce on the internet. Enter: Joaquin. The teen scoured through the dusty tomes he believed weren't opened in- well, forever. It only made his job more difficult. All of those books looked exactly the same. A disgruntled expression spread across Joaquin's face. He believed he would never find what he was searching for. How was he supposed to find out the impact of public transportation for the country of Laos? Everything on Google was incredibly irrelevant, and it surely did not help that he waited until the last minute to do the paper. A soft sigh escape the teen's mouth as he slowly shook his head. He knew his search was futile. But something about his effort comforted him greatly. That's when he saw it. That, which he had just cast all hope aside for. The book read' "The Impact of Public Transportation in South Eastern Asian Countries". He swore he could've cried. But that would have to wait. For the time being, he had to find a place to read this tiny beaut. 'Fourth floor. Relatively quiet, and they don't have the rickety chairs.' The young lad grinned with joy. He believed himself clever. And who was anyone to tell him otherwise?
Joaquin ascended the stairs in his own fashion: he floated up them. He liked to utilize his power whenever he could. He believed it helped him train it. And in a way, it did. A lot of what he actually knew about his power came from using it in an everyday setting.
Rounding the corner into the near-silent room, he was greeted with the soft snores of a girl he did not believe he had met before. His smile remain plastered to his face as he gave her a once-over. 'Should I wake her up? I doubt she wants to be asleep here of all places.' Without a second thought, he floated himself next to her, and gently patted her shoulder. He was cautious as to whom he touched, as he was unaware what power she held. Last thing he needed was to get blown up for something as harmless as a decent gesture! "Hey. Hey. You look a bit uncomfortable. I would've lent you a pillow, but I left my travel pillow at home." His statement was followed by a small smile and a slight shrug of the shoulders. Hopefully, she wouldn't be too annoyed by his actions.

Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me open ♦♦♦ idk ♦♦♦ outfit ♦♦♦ entertainment needed She heard the voice before she noticed someone was tapping her on the shoulder. It took her a moment to register where she was as she opened her eyes. The library? Right she had come up to the forth floor to read in peace. Raven figured she fell asleep but wasn't sure when, or how long she was asleep for. She figured not too long since there were still students in the library. She looked over to the person who woke her. He was hovering. Any other place and she would be shocked but not here at Ashford. She stretched and sat up in the chair as she spoke. "Must have been more tiered than I previous thought" She half laughed as she close the open book and sat it on the arm of the chair.
"Thanks for the wake up. This really isn't the ideal place to take a nap. I'm Raven by the way" She said with a warm smile. She didn't know who the boy was that woke her and was all for meeting new people. She enjoyed making friends and everyone had their own interesting story. That was the fun part about being at a school, you could meet all manor of people. Especially at a special school like Ashford.

Cause these words are knives are often leave Scars song title this is gospel -- p!atd outfit: --- words: 371 ❥ YEP, HE CERTAINLY HAD NOT SEEN THIS GIRL BEFORE
And here he was, thinking that he knew almost everyone at the school. A subtle eyebrow was raised at her first comment. "Well it's not exactly uncommon to fall asleep in the library apparently. So you aren't alone on that regard." He slyly pointed to another student in the corner of the room. He too was asleep, but his book was not as lucky. Drool ran from the pages, ruining whatever text it was. Things like that, were the reasons that Joaquin got around as much as he possibly could. It made his day really. Well besides reading his comic books, and playing the occasional video game. But other than those things, that was it. Following a silent chuckle, he turned his attention back towards his new-found acquaintance.
"Oh it's no problem at all Ms. Raven! Just doing what I can to assist is all." He outstretched his right hand to offer a handshake, while adding "My name is Joaquin Marshall I can fly, as you probably noticed." It had been some time since he had introduced himself to another student. The other kids always seemed so enamored with Joaquin's power. Even though they all had incredible powers of their own, there was something about the power of flight that just struck awe in people. As if it were the most unnatural of all of the powers. All of that was additionally humorous, due to the fact that Joaquin was usually in awe in regard to the other students powers. Flight was just meh to him at that point. Sure it was fun, and he liked to use it when he could. But it had just become so commonplace he supposed.
"If you'd like, I can sit here and read with you to keep you awake. If you actually need it." He raised himself above the table and sat criss-cross an inch or two above the actual surface. "See, I was supposed to have this paper all but done, but I pushed it off. Day after day. Now I might be screwed." A tiny shrug ensued as he gazed back up at her. "Ah well. What are you reading that book there for? English?" ♚ Made by SYLVIA of SA and GS ♚ |

Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me @boopz ♦♦♦ 290 ♦♦♦ outfit ♦♦♦ entertainment needed She wasn't overly sure if the notion of being the only one who fell asleep was reassuring or unsettling. She chuckled when she followed his hand to see another asleep student. Well the reason she came up to the forth floor was because of the quiet and the more comfortable chairs that were available. Ms. Raven? She shook her head. "Just Raven dear, no need for formalities" She was used to formal situations and she had poor memories of them. Right now she didn't need to worry about formality.
"It is nice to meet you Joaquin" Raven said as she shook his hand. "Flying sound really cool. I bet you hear that a lot though. I can talk to animals" She beamed. Flying would be really cool, to have that sense of freedom. But Raven would never trade her ability for anything. No matter how cool the other ability was. She had thought before it would be cool to become an animal but she liked it in her own skin and being able to talk to any creature and having them automatically understand her was even better.
"Well I won't say no to good company" She smiled warmly as she watched him take a seat, well sort of. It was cool to watch someone use their power so freely. She wasn't very surprised to hear about him procrastinating about a paper. Most student did that, it was just a given for teens. She sometimes procrastinated with her work, especially when it came to history. It certainly didn't make that person a bad student though. She shook her head when asked about the book she was reading. "No, nothing like that. I just really like this book"

LORD GIVE ME GRACE, AND DANCING FEET song the prayer -- bloc party outfit: --- words: 407 MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, PEOPLE WERE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH FORMALITIES .
He supposed it was the times. In the retro movies he had become accustomed to watching, when the main protagonist wasn't some super awesome detective zinging one-liners left and right, they are cordial, polite, the epitome of respect. It's an ideal Joaquin has strove for in the past. It was not uncommon for him to actually disregard when people told him to be familiar with him. He couldn't help it! He did his best not to though. After all, the last thing he wanted to do was annoy people. "My apologies M- Raven." See? He could hardly contain himself.
It was then she commented on his flying. "Yea it's okay I suppose. It's nothing fantastic. Leads to some pretty amazing views though, I gotta admit." She could talk to animals? That was fantastic! Much like Aquaman with his sea creatures. Oh, what he would give to fly next to flocks of birds and converse. But unfortunately he could not have the best of both worlds. He would take his original power any day of the week.
Upon allowing him to stay with her for the duration of her reading, Joaquin opened his book for the first time. It was incredibly daunting. Words upon words, in what seemed like 2 pt font. Diagrams, and complicated charts with terms he couldn't hope to understand in a single night. A defeated look placed itself on his face, as he slowly closed the book. At the very least, he could have a stress free evening from tackling a humongous paper that he would inevitably have failed anyway.
It was rare for someone their age to enjoy recreational reading. Although truthfully, people didn't normally acknowledge comic book reading as actual reading. He couldn't see why, It provided mental stimulation, and laced themes throughout its many stories. Comic books were just as valid as any other book if you ask Joaquin. "I was supposed to read Frankenstein in 8th grade. I remember nothing from it though! Do me a favor, and read a bit out loud?" He enjoyed listening to stories most of all. Reading in ones head was nice, but reading aloud painted a picture. You could see, hear, smell, taste, and feel the stories. Maybe it was just him though. He lowered himself down onto the table, and placed his hands on his chin, looking intently at her.

Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me @boopz ♦♦♦ 288 ♦♦♦ outfit ♦♦♦ entertainment needed Raven could only imagine the sights he could see from flying. Sure she had been on a plane before but that wasn't the same. It was fun to imagine but at the end of the day being able to go home and break up arguments with her cats and snake made her day, no matter how silly that sounded. She sat up more and crossed her legs in a pretzel style on the chair so she could sit up better and it was more comfortable for her, also it helped with not nodding off.
She watched as he put the book down obviously defeated. She chuckled slightly. She figured he was a couple grades bellow her. He reminded her of a puppy or what a younger sibling was suppose to be like. She thought it was quite adorable, his bubbling energy and his full acceptance of his ability. She was a little shocked at the question of reading out loud.
She smiled as she looked at him waiting. "I don't mind" She really didn't, she had read to her pets on multiple occasions. Also she had read the book so often there was no way she would stumble over the words, not that she usually did. She cleared her throat and started from the beginning. "Alright, Preface, Letter I. To Mrs. Saville, England, St. Petersburgh, Dec. 11th, 17. You will rejoice to hear that no disaster has accompanied the commencement of an enterprise which you have regarded with such evil forebodings. I arrived here yesterday, and my first task is to assure my dear sister of my welfare and increasing confidence in the success of my undertaking..." She started reading, letting the words flow with no hesitation.

hey hey lyrics and stuff ha two lines of lyrics can fit carmina burana -- carl orff outfit: --- words: 260 AH, FRANKENSTEIN.
Perhaps, one of the most misconstrued pieces of literature ever creature. Ask any person on the street, any one at all who 'Frankenstein' is, and they'll tell you he's a gargantuan, hideous, grotesque, green fellow, who happened to be created in a lab by a mad scientist. How crude. But fitting, that people attribute the creature that the actual Dr. Frankenstein had created to the creator himself. Deserving if anything. He only wished to be loved.
As he listened to her words, he tried to focus on the story, but could not help that she was reading with such fluidity. He did not stumble, and would only pause for dramatic effect. Joaquin chalked it it up to her being incredibly intelligent. But it was increasingly clear she was a cut above the rest. Nevertheless, he continued listening intently.
As she rounded off her first section of reading, Joaquin became more and more engrossed in her reading. It was fantastic. The way she communicated her thoughts, and apparently even the thoughts of Mary Shelley, made him perk up. Even animals were able to lend their ears to the young girls voice. He rose again from the table, only a few inches, at the most and very slightly cocked his head to the side. "You're excellent at reading big words. Did you know that?" It was a fact he felt she deserved to know. A raised eyebrow awaited her response, as he pressed his hands against his chin.

Somebody shine a light i'm frozen by the fear in me @boopz ♦♦♦ 260 ♦♦♦ outfit ♦♦♦ no notes Books really were her life when she was growing up. For the most part books were the only company she had. Also being homeschooled she was always expected to exceed the average students her age. But only to make sure the family didn't look bad. It was always back to making the family look good. Raven figured it was why she wasn't given up or something worse early on. She found it amazing that her parents even let her go to Ashford but she figured it was because of the exclusivity of it that convinced them.
Reading out loud was nice. She really needed to do it more often. Though she did find that reading to a person was somewhat different than reading to her animals. It was a good different tough. She did love the story. The whole monster thing was intriguing. The reality was that the so called monster was just a person who was stronger, smarter and just wanted to be loved. She found many parallels in the story to real life with those with abilities who came from broken homes like her. Just wanting to be accepted or even to be left alone. Also the questioning ones existence was universal.
She looked up at the boy when he spoke. At first she didn't register what he had said. She looked at him questioning before it dawned on her. She smiled and chuckled slightly. "Thank you. I love reading, always have so I guess that help" She responded. He was sweet and she was enjoying his company.
